Removing asphalt tack coat?

So thanks to my luck, a week after detailing the car, I was on my way to georgia from new york and went over some freshly paved asphalt with what seems to be fresh tack coat.

 

I tried APC, no dice, waterless wash.

nothing.

 

Clay bar didn't really do anything either.

 

Any ideas?

Try 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner

Isopropyl Alcohol will work.... test area first and re wax and seal when done.

I use the 3M adhesive remover, but Naptha works too!   DO NOT GET ON PLASTIC!!!!  BAD things happen!   

 

I put it on an Adams MF applicator and wipe.  It's nearly instant at removing it.

As far as removing asphalt - citrius based stuff and/or wd40 is what we use to take it off our asphalt testing equipment.  How that affects your automobile is unknown to me.

I purchased 3m adhesive remover aswell as some bug and tar remover from a different company. Many bottles later, most of it is off
