Paint transfer

My neighbor took his car to the car wash and somehow rubbed against a round metal post going into the wash. He now has yellow paint on the back panel of his car. Before talking to me he took a brillo pad to the worst of it. I told him not to do that again! I was able to start to get some of the paint off first using some clay then some automotive paint cleaner but this process takes along time. Any other suggestions?

You could try a more aggressive clay bar, but what you are doing is the best option.

3m Adhesive remover.....should work.

Another vote for 3M Adhesive Remover.  I've used it many times to remove the majority of paint transfer, then clay bar and polishing to clean up the rest of the mess.

 

And once you have it all cleaned up, take that brillo pad and stick it up his nose.

I've got a quart can of the 3M adhesive remover.  It's great stuff!  1000 times better than goo gone and the like.

Another here for the 3M adhesive remover, once you get it taken care of tell your neighbor to leave the car wash alone.

Thank you for the advice. I will try the 3M Adhesive remover. I went to take a look at the post he rubbed up against. From the looks of it he was not the first one!
