pad usage

Question

Hey guys,

Been using Adams products for over 2 years now and am still blown away by the shine that can be acheived. This is my first post and hope it's not a nube question. How many pads do you guys go through while polishing your ride. For example, do you use more than one finishing pad of do you have two or three ready to go before you start. The reason I ask is because I saw a blog by a "detailing expert" saying to use three of each color pad per car per session. I've had no problems using just one pad of each colour whenever using my Porter cable.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

That makes sense. I actually did encounter some dusting while correcting the paint on my 92 original paint stang. It was starting to haze after years of neglect. I always kept it clean, just not Adams clean until a few years ago. I guess it's time to order up some extras since it's starting to warm up.

I use 2-3 depending on car/truck size, especially for compounding. I've found the pads have a longer service life and are easier to clean when put away, still always clean on the fly though. Yes the pads can get clogged up with material, can become heavier with polish then I feel become less efficient and can build heat onto the pad which can lead to premature failure. Just my personal opinion as I've learned heat can/will ruin pads.
