GXPaycheck
Starting a new thread rather than bumping up a really old one. What is recommended for maintaining the Flex? I remember something about oiling a felt pad?
0 Kingsford
Take the center bolt out with an allen wrench. Remove the backing plate. Use 3-IN-ONE Multi-Purpose Oil to lube the felt ring. I do it after every other use (2-Full Details) or after sitting a while. Don't drench the felt ring. A little oil goes a long way. The backing plate should be smooth where the felt ring comes in contact with it. If it is not smooth it should be replaced. http://www.3inone.com/products/multi-purpose/ Edited May 7, 2015 by Kingsford

0 Team Adam's
Every 30 hours +/- I recommend at least an inspection and cleaning. Remove the backing plate, inspect the backside of the backing plate, and the felt ring. Oil with 3 in 1 oil if necessary, just a few drops. Use compressed air to blow polish dust out of the housing and vents.Every few years I fully take the housing apart (very easy to do) and inspect where the cord connects inside the handle and the various components. The airflow does pull a fair amount of dust/debris inside so cleaning (again with compressed air) is all you need. spx1000

0 Team Adam's
What about for Rupes? Similar, but I'd honestly recommend consulting your owners manual for recommended maintenance.
