My first suggestion is always to isolate the variables and determine if it's A towel, ALL towels, or the surface.

 

Try a different type of towel, like a single soft or similar on the same car and see what happens.

 

Then try the original towel on a different car and see what happens.

 

By mixing up the surface and the towel combos you should start to see a pattern and determine if the towel or the surface was the issue.

I had a single side I used to finish the detail spray at the car show, it worked fine. The towels are pretty new. No need for clay, that paint is slick as snot and never get dirty. I had just applied a coat of Patriots wax but again the single sided worked fine. Ill try washing them and see if it helps.
