Question about claying over LPS?..

Does claying wear down the LPS. On the new daily driver video Adam does, he says to clay after washing. Doesn't this break down the LPS and h20 gg each time?

Claying definitely removes some if not most of the protection on your paint. You don't need to clay every time, Adam just did after a road trip to get the bugs and tar off. Then adding H2O G&G adds protection back to the paint, at least in the scenario of that video. When I clay my truck it's usually only certain areas like the front end and bottom of the doors wear LPS tends to wear faster anyways. If I clay an area usually I'll reapply LPS to that area and maintain every few washes with H2O G&G.

Claying will remove at least some of the LPS, and should only be done if your paint feels rough which means you have bonded contaminates.  Most would use clay as a prep for polishing, sealing and waxing.

I only clay about every 6 months when I do my strip washes. Then I apply LPS for another 6 months
