Claying definitely removes some if not most of the protection on your paint. You don't need to clay every time, Adam just did after a road trip to get the bugs and tar off. Then adding H2O G&G adds protection back to the paint, at least in the scenario of that video. When I clay my truck it's usually only certain areas like the front end and bottom of the doors wear LPS tends to wear faster anyways. If I clay an area usually I'll reapply LPS to that area and maintain every few washes with H2O G&G.
