Redfireshaker06 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Why do they make a 6" counter weight. If the pads are 7" and the backing plate is almost 6". Should a counter weight for the 6" pad be used? The PC comes w/ a counter weight for the 5" I believe
0 Bill-V8V Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hi Brandon Don't take this wrong but this subject has been covered many times. To the point where we have to close threads on it when it spins out of control. The bottom line is it will make little to no difference at all when using a PC on paint. PM Adam, I think he might have a bunch left over from testing. Bill
0 Redfireshaker06 Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 Im new, so I didn't know it had been brought up. I didn't take it the wrong way. Its cool

0 Bill-V8V Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 good pun! I almost said " until the extra vibration from a smaller counter weight causes it to vibrate out of control" :lolsmack::lolsmack:
0 Loud Pedal Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 The vibration difference is very minimal but I would recommend the 6" weight just because Porter Cable recommends a larger weight with larger pads.
0 Chewy Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Yeah Adam says no biggie! He uses the stock weight.
0 Team Adam's Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Correct, after testing the results were the same.
