JJ1o87
Hey MAC users! I just bought a MAC a few weeks ago and so far no complaints I love the thing. The only thing that I'm having a problem with is viewing my security cameras on my computer. The DVR (Digital Video Recorder) has a static I.P. address so all you have to do is type in the address in Internet Explorer, or Safari in my case now and viola - your cameras are viewable remotely! The only problem is that now I can't get that little active-x bar to come up to let me install the software. Any ideas?

GerryC
If it's an issue with the browser, they make Firefox for Mac. As far as I know you need to have an intel processor-based mac to run activex Edited June 27, 2009 by GerryC
Baron_Von_Awesome
Internet Explorer for Mac has some very limited support for Active X. Active X is by and large for Windows. My suggestion is run Parallels: that way you can use your Mac, and then switch to a PC when you actually need to function in the real world
Bill-V8V
I'd try FireFox too and take a look here for any other software you might need. http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/
Marylander
I'm not familiar with Active-X stuff, but I've always found Apple's discussion boards pretty helpful. You may have to dig around a bit, the the answers are usually there: http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa Rich

Bill-V8V
http://192.168.1.100:80/cgi-bin/getimage.cgi? Make sure you change the 192.168.1.100 to either the right ip address or the correct url of your web/ip cam and then make sure you change 80 to the port your web cams are running on. SweetDaddyDelicious
I think you just have to install active X. It should be on your install disk.
