Rico1
I recently purchased the 3 step correcting polishes to help get the swirls and small scratches out of my black paint. Should I also wax the truck after I complete the process and if so, what should I use?
0 Mbrazelton
I just did this and the steps that i did was the 3 steps, then Paint Sealant, and then Buttery Wax. Seems to be a pretty common set of steps, maybe a different Wax. Rico1
0 Wy_detailing
I would recommend the Americana ($50) or Patriot wax ($100) to get more shine and longer lasting protection. Both amazing waxes with a great finish ???? Rico1
0 falcaineer
Welcome, Lindsey! Be sure to post an intro on the New Member Check-in thread. To your question... What results are you looking for? Basically, there's a balance between longevity and shine, and that balance is up to you. A great article to read is here: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27631-faq-should-i-use-wax-or-sealant-on-my-car/. For me, with only daily drivers, I don't use wax at all. Instead, I use PS about every 6 months and maintain with HGG between selant applications. W&W (not actually a wax) is also great for maintenance. But you may want more shine and are willing to apply it more often, in which case wax could be perfect. BG is also available for just showing off! And then there's coatings. Bottom line, I recommend you read the article above, watch the videos, read and ask lots of questions here, and make up your own technique. Looking forward to some pictures of your cars! 0 Chonke
Yes, the polish will get rid of scratches and make the paint look new, but the wax will give it a lot of shine and some protection. Rico1
0 galaxy
That “three step” process isn’t exactly a three step process. They’re three different levels of polish for three different jobs. As with any job, you only want to use the least aggressive product that’ll do the job. That’s heavy correcting polish is just that, and it’s aggressive. If all you need is finishing polish, then you go straight to that one product. Rico1
0 FrozenWS6
I agree with Galaxy. This car is a daily driven, lives outside all year, and washed with drive through car washes. I one stepped with the heavy correction polish on the top surfaces. Then one stepped the sides with the orange correction polish. Finally topped with paint sealant.
