  1. Thanks guys. My tundra is the only vehicle i've had to use the sever swirl on so far. The other 2 I can just get away w/polish and sealing. My main thing though is the machine polishing you gotta wait 24hrs before applying any other product. I usually just seal and be on my way but wanna try and glaze/wax combo eventually one of these days to see the difference especially w/the gtr. My glaze has been sitting for close to a year and i've yet to try it, haha.
  2. Gotcha was doing it twice a year in the toureg but wasn't sure if I really needed to do it over or not paint is easy to maintain on that one. Main issue is my truck since its black and my dd. for light dusting are you guys just hitting it with detailer and wiping?
  3. Just curious to know how often do you guys machine polish and what type of routine you guys have. Currently have 3 vehicles I maintain, Gtr gets washed weekly and so far have used my PC on it once. Toureg usually every other week wash and once a month machine polish and seal. Tundra once a month since its my dd and stays outside. Usually clay before any of the pads touch the paint.
  4. Almost bought a raptor before i got my Tundra but the 9-10mpg killed that for me, haha. Thanks again guys. Sorry not sure if he has any of the hdr shots or not, funny part was he brought the wrong tripod for the shoot so alot of the shots ended up grainy/slightly blurred. I'll try and see when we do another shoot to get some non HDR's.
  5. ^Thanks, wasn't 100% sure so had to ask about the revive since i know you use them on painted wheels. Mine looked exactly like the pics above, but after a day of driving, man these pads produce alot of dust, haha. Plus roads are still a tad bit dusty. Going to stick w/my vrt routine for now then.
  6. Bump w/another quick question. Anyone recommend to waxing matte black wheels and which one would you use, americana or buttery? Read around and some folks say to clay and wax your wheels once and awhile. As another member mentioned that i may need to venture out for a matte sealer. So has anyone on the board us cg meticulous matte detailer? Just curious to know. Also w/light dusting, can i get away w/just hitting it w/detailer spray and wiping them down as wheelmaker mentioned? Thanks guys.
  7. Try for 6 months give or take. Just depends how fast the snow melts, roads are cleaned, and when the first snow fall happens. Started in mid april and hoping to keep driving till end of october hopefully.
  8. 6am? Man that's early. Will try your suggestion on my tundra once the rain lets up this week. It's in need of some tlc at the moment.
  9. Thanks guys. No jeep here, have a 2010 Tundra as my daily though when i'm not driving the gtr. Hoping to setup another photoshoot sometime w/rolling shots and maybe some dyno shots.
  10. Thanks, forgot to mention, but it was a friend of mine that did the shots. Just a side hobby he does.
  11. Just a couple of shots of my Gtr from Friday night. Did a complete detail on Thursday. Hope you guys like it.
  12. So I just picked up a gilmour foam master II, how much would you guys recommend to put in and on what setting (a-e)? Did a little test run when I got it, didn't foam as much as I thought.
  13. Did my entire Gtr on Thursday. Did vrt and it definitely made them look a lot better not greasy at all. Going with that setup for now until I can see if I can get quick sealant shipped up. So as far as revive goes, how often should I use it? I bought a bottle awhile back just not sure when I should slap it on the wheels.
  14. Haha, yeah mostly winter months but this is actually my first year w/it. Brought it out mid april and have been driving it since, except when it dumped snow twice.
  15. So is it safe to use my pc w/polish, seal, and glaze? Should i clay xpel surface as well? Was looking at doing a full detail finally on it, no swirls thank god. Here's a link to my build process from Switzer, http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/82225-special-thanks-to-switzer-performance-innovation/ Planning on setting up a garage shoot this weekend hopefully if not maybe sometime next week. Going to try and get some dyno time in as well in June. Will post up some pics then as well. Thanks guys.
  16. Wanted some input on how to maintain my xpell ultimate cf wrap on the hood, roof, and trunk and also the clear bra. Done a search and seems alot of people have different opinions on how to care for it. I've heard to just wash it and leave it be and others have said you can use the machine polish on them. As far as the cf wrap goes, is there anything i should do to it besides washing? It's more of a matte cf wrap. Here's a pic. Thanks guys.
  17. Bump, going to try and fix the stained wheel tomorrow. So wanted to make sure and just try the vrt on the wheels. Will it make it greasy/glossy? Also, do i need to apply Revive on them at all or just stick w/the vrt?
  18. What are you guys using to seal the wheels? Also americana wax is safe for matte finish? Was thinking of using vrt on them to top it off.
  19. Thanks guys. I'm located in Anchorage. I know it's a pain to keep swirls away during the winter months as my Tundra is black and in need of a major detail at the moment.
  20. yes I let them dry say 1-2 minutes max as i washed each wheel individually. just seemed odd that only one whee had the staining. i've done my wifes toureg and finished the bottle off on the exact same rims again yet no staining. just the first initial use caused the stain on the one rim.
  21. Thanks guys. Only pic I have at the moment of the gtr was when it was over at Switzer Performance Innovation. Try and dig up any pics I have of the tundra and toureg.
  22. Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure they're still fine to use.
  23. I'll try and call them sometime to see if they can ship some up, just know on the site it says they can't ship to Ak. So do i just use a microfiber cloth w/the fine machine polish? I got one of the hex pads for the revive. Might try that first. I let the car sit for about 1hr before i started the wash process. Was that not long enough for the wheels to cool down? It only happened to one wheel which is odd. All the other rims are fine.
  24. Oh is it from sitting on the grit guard? To tell you the truth I just noticed them after letting them dry for 2 days. Never had this happen to me before. Actually was my first time using the brush so I assumed it was from too much force?
  25. New guy checking in here from Alaska. Just actually started taking detailing seriously last year as a hobby. Used to used meguires before switching over to all adams products last year. My minor collection on products i use to maintain my tundra, wifes toureg, and my gtr.
