  1. Just did my friend's '72 with the glaze topped with buttery. You will absolutely love the glaze look!
  2. Hey guys, I was wondering what the difference is between the yellow hex grip and the blue/red americana hex grip applicator. Is it the same except different color? I have the yellow for the buttery, but recently ordered some Americana but the Hex applicator isn't in stock. Thanks!
  3. First off, welcome to the forum! Everyone here is more than happy to help you and Adam's is by the far the best company when it comes to products and customer service. If you are new to polishing and detailing, i agree with everyone else. Go to Adam's YouTube channel and watch the Guide to Machine Polishing. Then, come back here if you have any questions. You will go from a NewB to a Pro in no time!
  4. Can I ask why you didn't clean the wheels and wheel wells first? Usually you would do this before you wash the car.
  5. Thanks for the reply. It seemed to work fine, I was just curious why the colors didn't match. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, About a month ago, I order Adam's Glass Cleaner from west coast camaro. However, it seems like the color doesn't match how it looks on Adam's website. It actually looks identical to the interior detailed spray. The color on Adams looks kinda neon green. Can anyone else show how their glass cleaner looks? Wanna make sure I actually was given the right product. Thanks!
  7. Well Mike, you beat me to it! But great information! We both are completely on the same page! Ryan, I just polished my camaro on Sunday. Here are some before and after pictures of my hood to show you what polishing can do.
  8. Hello Ryan! First off, welcome to the world of detailing! These forums are great places to get information from other users and the amazing employees at Adams. Here is a link where you can download an Adam's quick guide that will give you a lot of information. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175005 Let me try to break it down for you.... Polishing is the process of removing swirl marks caused by improper washing or other fine scratches introduced to your clear coat. You will see these swirl marks when your car is in direct sunlight. If you are looking to remove these swirl marks/scratches, you will need a polishing system (cyclo polisher, backing plates, orange and white 4" pads, paint correcting polish and paint finishing polish. If you decide to do this, I strongly suggest watching the Adam's guide to machine polishing on their YouTube channel for instructions. After you have the car fully polished and swirl marks removed, you need to decide how to protect your fresh clear coat. If you are in a harsher climate or using your car as a daily driver, you would probably want to use the liquid sealant. This can be done by hand or you can pick up the grey 4" sealant/waxing pad which will reduce your time significantly. If you car is mainly just sitting in your garage, you can choose to get by with using a wax (buttery for quicker, or Americana for longevity and greater shine). This can also be done by hand or by machine with the sealant/waxing pads. Personally,I did the sealant, then went over with the buttery wax for ultimate protection as my camaro is a daily driver and I live in AZ. If you want to enhance the shine even more, you can put on the brilliant glaze before the wax. With the cyclo tool, it's almost impossible (even for a noob) to damage your paint. Since the cyclo is a dual action polisher, it does not allow you to burn the paint. Using a rotary buffer is what you need to be very careful about burning your paint. Cyclo is totally safe since it is not rotary. Well hope this helps to get you started! Good luck! It's totally worth the time and effort when you see the results!
  9. Just did my first full detail including polishing and sealing. Below are some before and after pics of the swirl corrections. Finished product was in the dark cause it took me 7 hours!
  10. I assume that the boars hear lug nut brush is safe enough to use as well???
  11. As long as you have a good amount of suds when you are washing, it's ok. Even with hard water, the shampoo is ph balanced and neutralizes the hard water so it's safe to let the soap dry on the car. If you have the right amount of soap, it should leave almost a filmy dry spot, this is safe. Once you are finished washing the whole car, rinse it completely, shoot it with a thin coat of detail spray and dry away! I'm in Phoenix btw
  12. Depends on what you want to have with you. I went to Home Depot and bought some totes to store my items. You can get a smaller one just to keep in the car
  13. Awesome! Thanks! That SS is pretty bad ***. What do you drive now since you sold it?
  14. Thanks Nick! Didn't even think of the VRT, that makes perfect sense! When you say don't let the cleaner dry, do you mean just be sure to rinse before it dries? or actually go over with a towel after it's rinsed? Also, is that your SS pictured?
  15. Hey guys, Anyone know if the green wheel cleaner or the deep wheel cleaner is safe to use on plasti dip wheels? Thanks!
  16. Hey guys, I was wondering if there is really a difference between the waterless wash and watering down the rinse less to get waterless wash? On the rinse less, it says you can dilute it to make over 250 ounces of waterless wash. So for $17 I can get a bottle of rinse less wash and make 250 ounces of waterless or spend $30-$40 on the gallon of waterless to give me 128 ounces. Is there a reason why I wouldn't want to always go with the rinseless rather than the waterless gallon? Thanks!
  17. Hey Guys, I currently live in an apartment complex so doing a complete detail is out of the question without going to a friend's house, I am looking for some sort of storage to transport all my supplies to complete a detail. Preferably something that can fit everything i need (minus the buckets) and also fit in the truck of my 2012 camaro. Preferably something that is not a bag so everything shuffles around. Anyone have something they really like to carry around with them? A picture of most of my stuff is below. Thanks!
  18. I am new to machine polishing so I apologize if this is a stupid question. I assume you should also polish the front and rear bumper since that also has a clear coat. Is that correct? Would you treat these areas any different than say the hood or other areas? Thanks!
  19. Why don't you discuss on a mustang forum? If I have questions about my Adam's products, I come to this forum because they have the best answers for these products. For any other questions, I go to my Camaro forums. There you will get unbiased information. Just a thought....
  20. You can have it! I'm sick of it! I miss the snow.......kinda
  21. That helps a lot! I am not actually using the Brilliant Glaze. I thought about it, but since I live in AZ with so much dust, I decided to go with the Paint Sealant with the sealant machine pad. Then i'm going over with the Buttery Wax.
  22. Hey guys, I am new to car detailing. I have gotten all my adam's products ordered and started this weekend to work on my 2012 Camaro SS. Glad to have such an awesome forum to help me out!
