  1. A full "professional" detail including all those steps should take at least 4-5 hours depending on how many people they have working on it. It's hard to say how much time and effort they spent actually doing a quality job. Did you have swirls that needed correcting? $400 is a lot to spend on a detail especially if it's not done to your full expectations. Most people see that the car is shiny so they are satisfied. I agree with everyone above saying not to bring it to a dealership next time. Detailing should not be a one size fits all approach. They should consult with you
  2. Welcome to the forum Grislen! I have had similar problems myself. Rinseless wash is a great product, but still can introduce new scratches. Definitely not as safe as a full 2 bucket wash. I have recently switched to the Gary dean method of rinse less washing (using about 6-8 towels, after the 8 sides have been used you switch to a new towel). I found this to be a much better approach when using the rinse less to reduce new scratches. Also, before I wipe down a panel, I will saturate it with waterless wash to loosen up the particles. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  3. How did you get that sample?
  4. Hey guys, I've gotten into a few arguments recently over the confusion of the difference between buffing and polishing. Some are saying it's the same thing and others are saying its different. I have my own views but I thought I would get some good opinions from everyone on here too. A lot of car wash places offer a "buffing" and there is confusion over what exactly that means. Seems like a lot of confusion on the differences. What is your thoughts?
  5. Sorry, that is correct. I was running the PC with 7" pads
  6. I had a PC and recently went with the cyclo. Definitely easier for tighter areas and way less stress on the hands if you are doing a long job.
  7. I agree. I see a lot of duplicate topics. Most people post new threads without first searching if they already exist.
  8. Damn you guys and your proper math skills! Haha. I got excited and didn't do the math. I guess if you wanted to make a quick gallon you could throw another 5 or 6 oz's of rinse less in to make a gallon.
  9. Not sure if this is a dumb kinda "of course" revelation, or a genius revelation.... Now since I have enough towels do do the Gary dean method of rinseless washing, I am always left with maybe a gallon or so of the rinse less wash in my bucket. Since only clean towels have touched it, I figured why not save this as it is essentially waterless wash now! Anyone else do this? Not sure why you wouldn't want to save it.
  10. Adam's polishes has the greatest customer service of any company I've dealt with (not just detailing companies!). You did not just get lucky. Adam and all his employees make sure that every customer is fully satisfied and goes the extra mile. You won't find a better company! And yes, I'm am curious also of the product....
  11. Has anyone washed the double soft towels with the border less blues and had the double softs come out blue?
  12. Got it for 12.95 with a gallon and 15% off. So it was only $14.50! Ha Got it for 12.95 with a gallon and 15% off. So it was only $14.50! Ha
  13. Not sure if anyone talked about this yet, but I hate when my bottles are plain with no labels. I like the Kwazar but I hated how it was blank. I ordered an Adam's decal and think it's way better! Wish they would come like this
  14. You mean an acronym? Like... Always Driving A Mad Shine!
  15. Adam's....Melting faces since (insert start year here)
  16. Which do you think is better/safer for rinseless washing? Double Soft towels or the borderless blue towels? I know the blue has a longer plush on them, would this be safer for rinseless? Let me know what you think! Thanks!
  17. Once you start, you won't be able to stop!
  18. Congrats on your new camaro! Being a fellow Camaro owner with rally stripes, I know exactly what you are talking about. Since I have the Cyclo polisher, it's easy to turn sideways and go down the middle area with the edges of the stripes taped off due to the 4" pads. With the flex, it would be a little more difficult using a 7" pad. I'm not sure, but are you able to get a 4" backing plate for the flex? If so, you could buy a 4" pad to use for that section only? As far as the space in between the big and little stripe, i don't worry about since it's such a small area. Good luck!
  19. Being a DD, it is very hard to have the car remain swirl/scratch free. I live in AZ so I constantly have to do waterless/rinseless washes to keep my car clean. The art of washing is to reduce scratches as much as possible, but it's nearly impossible to not have them return at least a little. Keep doing things the way you are and be as careful as possible. When the scratches appear after time, you can polish them out.
  20. Thanks for the info Adam. Whatever you have to do to make sure your company stays in business to give us these great products, I'm behind you!
  21. First off, welcome to the forum! Always good to have another proud camaro owner! In regards to your swirl marks, it's likely they were on the car before you bought it depending on how long it stayed on the lot. Dealerships will usually run it through washes instead of washing and drying properly. Like Chris said above, getting a great cyclo starting kit is the way to go to get rid of those swirl marks and really make that beautiful car shine! All of Adam's videos are great places to start to learn how to properly care for your car. And as always, you can post questions on here for additional support. In regards to your rain question, do not simply dry down your car! More than likely it will have traces of dirt which will cause more scratches and swirl marks. You will want to properly wash and dry the car after a rain as soon as possible. If a full wash isn't possible, you can do a rinseless wash that will take less time. Good luck!
  22. Ah, thanks for the info! Looks like I need to order some more double softs!
  23. I'm using the 2 bucket with grit guards. Not sure what the Gary dean method is.
  24. Hey guys, I am somewhat new to rinseless and waterless washing since I recently moved into an apartment with out a water supply. I did a full paint correction on my camaro a few weeks ago so my car was about close to swirl and scratch free. Since I live in AZ I have light dust and dirt on my car pretty much daily, so I have been doing mostly rinseless washing. It seems that only after a few weeks, the rinse less seems to be adding some scratches and swirl marks. I know it's not a full 2 bucket wash, but I'm very careful when I wash it. I am using all the right products and doing it correctly. I've even tried using a few more ounces of the rinse less then recommended. Any rinse less experts out there that has some tips to ensure no new scratches are introduced? I am being very careful but it seems to be adding quite a bit more scratches! Thanks!
