  1. I would highly suggest getting 2 of the Adams buckets and grit guards. You will d finitely want their car shampoo. Personally, I think you would be best suited to go ahead and grab a gallon of the shampoo. This is something you will be using quite often and you will get more for your money buying the gallon. Super VRT, Adam's Galss Cleaner, leather cleaner and conditioner, liquid sealant and glaze are all some of my favorites. Have a look at this kit: http://adamspolishes.com/shop/kits/washing-kits/adam-s-essentials-detail-kit.html. This should definitely get you started. Have you ever polished or sealed a car's paint before? Do you currently have a polisher? Congrats on your new vehicle and please feel free to ask any questions you may have. There are a ton of very knowledgable people here who are very willing to share their knowledge.
  2. Will Brilliant Glaze help bring out the shine on white paint or is it not effective? As always, thanks in advance for the guidance.
  3. Hi everyone. Does anyone use the hex grip applicators to apply Liquid Paint Sealant? If so, which color do you use. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
  4. My son helps me with mine and my wife's cars any time I do anything to them. He decided that it was time to do what we could with his ride! We started with a wash to get off all the dirt and road grime. We used some detail spray to help with drying. Once it was dried we moved on to some Revive Polish to help bring out the shine. After we used Brilliant Glaze and trimmed all rubber and plastic with Super VRT. The pictures are arranged before, during, and after the detail.
  5. Hahaha! I forgot that I had airplay on my iPad set to push to my Apple TV. I started watching the video not realizing that it was being played on our tv. My wife was watching a movie when this took place. She got really mad really quickly thinking I was watching something a little more naughty! Awesome video! Thank you for sharing.
  6. Detail spray is typically used on painted surfaces. Adam's Super VRT works very well to dress up the engine bay.
  7. You would be better served to apply the sealant first, then your wax. I believe it is best to protect the paint until you are able to do a full correction. There will be no issue with washing, then claying, and the sealing the car until you purchase a polisher. We would love to see some pics. Post em up!
  8. I LOVE the e46! It would be awesome to see what she looks like (hint hint). Cover your fingers with a thin plastic bag and lightly rub your paint. If it feels rough at all you should clay the car to remove all contaminates. Next, in the sun, have close look at the paint. Are there any swirls? If so look into polishing to remove the swirls. I use Adam's paint correcting and paint finishing polish with the orange foam pads for correcting and the white pads for finishing. Now it is time to consider protecting your paint. My car is driven 60+ miles daily and requires a little more protection. So my product of choice is Adam's liquid paint sealant. Adam's Americana paste wax is another solid choice as well. This should get you started. There is a ton of experienced detailers here so please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
  9. There is some very solid advice given so far. I would highly suggest using a polish after claying your paint. In my experience, there will almost always be visible marring after using the clay. At the very least, use some revive polish to shine it up. After polish, you can then move on to protecting your paint. I use Adam's liquid paint sealant and then top that with Adam's Americana wax. Are the two coats of protection overkill? Meh Possibly. But I enjoy the process. If you have never clayed your vehicle you will be surprised at the amount of gunk you are going to remove! Just take your time and, most importantly, have some fun. There is a ton of info on the forum here. Have a look at the detailing write ups that people have posted. This will give you an idea of what others do and show you the results of their processes. Best of luck!
  10. False. I wish! The next person appreciates the lines of a 63 Continental.
  11. Thanks everyone! After several hours of rain and a few sips, I just had to work on something! Sealing the bottom of the deck is an awesome idea. After all, that is where most rust on the deck begins. Seriously though, I absolutely love my Adam's products!
  12. The title of this thread describes exactly how this little project started. The weather has been very, very we there in North Florida. The rain started yesterday and had not let up all day today (other than a short break). We'll, the boredom set in and I started thinking about the fact that I have a brand new mower that could stand to be cleaned. So....I cleaned it. I used waterless wash on the body and the exposed deck. I used all purpose cleaner on the motor. I then used vrt on all of the plastics. Just for kicks I used Adam's Finishing Polish with a white pad on my PC to bring out a little shine. After I applied a coat of Liquid Paint Sealant for protection and to make life easier when cleaning it. I know, I know. It is only a mower. But, it never hurts showing some TLC to something you want to keep in tip top shape for as long as possible. The rain stopped for about an hour which allowed me to get this photo. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
  13. Hi everyone. I would love to take advantage of the sale that is going on but cannot access the site. Is anyone else having the same issue?
  14. I was just there this past Wednesday. The area is absolutely stunning!
