  1. No problem. I can do em whatever size you want, bigger than you could fit on the car. lol.
  2. No, just the matte black stripes. (well I also did custom domed wheel emblems but you can't see them well there) I was just saying if she liked pink to check out that car.
  3. ahh yeah, the flip up headlights are neat. My friend has an old Esprit and does the same thing. I'm not a kid and I get a kick out of it.
  4. Unfortunately the machine is only the start of it. Software will getcha. My program was about $1,500. Look into Signlab or Flexi. Nothing else is worth running. I have pink vinyl. lol. It's more "red bull" pink than barbie pink. If you like pink check this car I did out.. It's called "Candy Red" but it's pink. And this is the only imported to the US in this color. I think the paint option was near $5K. lol. (I did the stripes)
  5. I'm on 20 by Sawnee Mountain. Yeah the watering ban stinks. I only have one neighbor that can see me. He'll see what a 357 Magnum facing him looks like if I get a fine. haha. I don't really wash my car very often though. Doh! It's a mess right now. I'm getting ready to take all the stripes and graphics off, give it a good detail and change them up a smidge. Try just ChuforiaGraffix.com if it's /home or anything it goes to an old out of date page. Just checked and it was up? I offer precut patterns for whatever car you got. You can see I do mostly Lotus, but can do whatever you have as well. There is a ton of coverage for Vettes. Full front ends, full doors, etc. I can install or give it to you to install and save a bunch of money, it's quite easy to install.
  6. Since she doesn't want it, just drop me an e-mail. Bowtie, no problem.
  7. Woo hoo! Another vinyl person! I started out like you Skybaby about 8 years ago. Take a peep at my site if you wanna check out what you'll be able to do once you get it all figured out. ChuforiaGraffix.com Unfortunately I still have about 600 pictures I need to sort through to put up, my best work isn't on the site yet. I have 127 colors in stock too if you ever need an hand with anything. Unfortunately what I don't have much of right now is time and I've been buried trying to catch up on orders.
  8. I also get a kick when behind a school bus. Every time same scenario. One kid is turned around and sees you, then you can see him turn around to the other kids and yell or point or whatever, and 2 seconds later it's a wall of kids peeking up over the back seats and at the rear window. 4 years later still makes me smile every time.
  9. I agree. I do an event every year called "Dream Ride for Kids" where we give a disabled kid of one dying of something a ride in a bunch of exotics. I'm not much of a kid person but it's an awesome event. It is well supported and we get a police escort too. In the beginning all the cars are just parked and the kids go stand in front of which one they get a ride in. I get a big kick that I have probably THE cheapest car there and the kids just love it and each year "my" kid has told me how it's the coolest one there while he is just beaming smiling. Pretty cool. Also neat given the other mix of cars and they feel they are in the coolest one (when even I don't feel that way! haha) We had close to 20 Ferarris, last year, Astons, my friends SLR McLaren and her custom DB9 and Bentley as well, Spyker, etc etc etc. I also get interviewed every year after the event and the organizers all thank me for coming out and stuff and remember me by name from the previous years. Again just of neat since I have the cheapest car there. I think it's just cause its bright in color and I'm the young guy there.
  10. I'm technically in Cumming, so you really just are down the road from me. Small world. My car is in need of detailing baaad. 2 track days, driving in rain, and the start of pollen season. It's nasty. I just need the time! Whatcha got?
  11. Wow, nice job. It was surprising just the difference after the APC alone. Those are also some super clean brake rotors. I took a bunch of time once to get mine all cleaned up in the "vanes" area and spray them with high temp BBQ grill paint, but still after the last track I just dont' think there is anything that will take the heat when you are puttin the hurtin to em and they are back to their kind of rusty appearance.
  12. Wow! Especially after that first pic of the tonneau! Nice job!
  13. You are seriously worried about if it rains on your car? Try putting it on the track sometime. (and off a couple times, lol) My view is cars are meant to be driven. Beat the hell out of them, drive them like you stole them, track them, and if you have time wash it or throw a coat of wax on it every once in a while. I've done it both ways and I can tell you at the end of a bunch of years of flogging a car, or letting it sit in the garage hoping no one breathes on it wrong- the former is a LOT more fun.
  14. Sounds like it would of been a perfect opportunity to get some detailing jobs.
  15. My car has the original washer fluid in it. It's a 2005. No salt here. I just keep the windows clean. I don't like to use it when I have the soft top on either. I should just take the tank out for the weight savings. (us Lotus guys are a little nutty about that sort of thing- "Add Lightness")
  16. What's up Ren Man. I'm going to the track on Thurs so I'm sure after that I'll be due for some washin.
  17. I'm not big on very shiny tires either. On the Lotus it's kind of a no no anyway. Greased up tires for a car going on the track At the 28th Lotus Owners Gathering last year everyone that had their car detailed by the local detailers didn't have their happy faces on the next day at the track trying to use brake clean and alcohol to get it off. "No tire shine" was on option on the detail sheet but the Hilton's detailers didn't really listen. lol. I like the clean rubber look but can't stand the real shiny look on tires (on my car anyway) If you are an icy hot stunna running 22's on your whip- then I guess it's fine. If you roll into the Lotus meet with greased up tires you are going to be mocked. Ironically it's a very anti-bling crowd, despite the car itself being a little flashy. Black wheels are the trend (and offered from the factory).
  18. I might have to try that, because although Tilex works great, the bleach smell about kills me.
  19. Sounds good to me! And if doesn't work for that, I'd like an interior detail spray that doesn't leave things greasy anyway.
  20. I talked to Jason on it quite some time ago and he sent me a sample to try! It did put a gloss on the matte vinyl, so I can't use it for that. It's not all bad though- turns out I love the product for what it is actually intended for and it works great on gloss vinyl and the clear bra. You know, I think I'll try the cleaner I always use before installing the stripes....rubbing alcohol. I know it won't leave a residue behind- but again it will strip the wax if I get it on paint next to them. To wax the car I mask the stripes with blue tape. Kind of a hassle. I may just change them over to gloss. I'm going to change them one way or another anyway. Either to gloss- or a much flatter black that looks like a chalk board. Of course then I'll kick myself because it will even harder to keep up. Maybe I'll do one gloss and one flat since it's dual offset stripe anyway.
  21. Bump still hoping for an answer... (I'll give the windex a try though. I guess I'll have to be careful not to get it on the adjacent paint as i would think it would strip the wax.
  22. I like the term Loti for multiple Lotus's but the proper term is actually "Lotus" for the plural according the factory. Since that does not sound right to a lot of people they usually will refer to multiple "Loti" as "Lotus cars" That way it's plural and sounds right. You would be quite surprised how much it's been debated and how nutty some people get over it- even to the extent that the factory has been written to arrive at that published answer. We sometimes refer to getting in as "putting your car on" lol. some of the bigger guys need to put it on like a suit jacket. I slip in and out of it pretty easy and it feels like it was tailor made for someone my exact size. If you notice the high sill (you sit inside the aluminum frame) and low seats it makes for a great combination that you always willing to help the female passengers get out. Here is a little poster I made up from a picture of my car with a friend.
  23. I think it will be safe for you to use your current favorite product. If nothing else, certainly use it over the film after you've installed it.
  24. Depends on the driver. You know some of those 'Vettes don't do half bad either. Got my tires ordered today for a track day next Thurs. Talladega Grand Prix- perfect track for our cars. Short straights and tight turns Can't wait to play on Toyo R888's.
  25. Cool. Sounds good. I know a guy in a black Exige from NC that runs with them. Not sure if he still has it. He was always getting cars and I haven't heard from him in a while. (runs an Exige, spec Miata, Spec E30, C5 Z06, and carts!)
