  1. I don't currently. Hopefully I will in the future. I've just done a few private HPDE's. I have one next week but hope I can get tires in time. If not I'll be selling my spot. Just trying to get more experience right now, but dang- expensive hobby. I just dont' have the coin to do it often!
  2. I'll admit I've tried everything out there and once using Zaino became fiercy loyal to them. Once I figured out the confusing numbering system and ordered up a ton of products I was so impressed that I gave away 2 garbage bags full of off the shelf products (eagle one, meguires, mothers, 3M, body shop supply stuff, etc) to a friend of mine that was detailing his way though school. I've also asked a question once and talked to Sal, who was very helpful. I liked that they were a small company with a guys name on the label doing their thing. I'm a small business person too, and like to support the same. Between the independent reviews, great products in unfancy packaging (makes me think my money is going into the product and not the package) and personal attention I've been blown away shall we say. (this thread does make me wonder if they are American made though? I just assumed they were- and for some reason I also though Adams was British ) That being said (and my apologies as its probably too much) I really like what I see here for the same reasons, and I really like that Adam responded to this and how he did. Can't argue with the rave reviews and glossy car pics. Certainly a group of enthusiasts here have rallied behind the products. I found Adams from their grass roots efforts supporting a forum I'm on online, and Jason has been more than helpful, actually going as far to send me a sample of a new product I had some questions about so I could try it out. (and of course I love it). I can say you've earned my business and my next detailing product purchase will come from you. That isn't something I thought I'd say after using Zaino stuff. And you are confident enough to offer a 110% guarantee. I like that. With a guy with passion, service, and confidence about his products like that (not to mention a proper attitude)- I can't not give him a chance.
  3. Seems like the solution is obvious. Clear in a pink bottle since the reason people appear to like the pink so they don't mix it up with other stuff. I honestly could not name the color (if they have any) of the other spray detailers I've used, and I've used a lot. (they have all been in opaque bottles. Ok I think Griots was blue in a clear bottle- but it all leaked out when I moved) If I could see it, I would probably want a color instead of clear. Why? Eh I dunno why, I just would. But if I can't see it the color of it in the bottle, all I can see is the results on the car- and then whatever stupid color the liquid was becomes quickly insignificant. I'll give the address to send my royalty checks to.
  4. Heres an even better one with teeth in the grill. (I think its where the guy with the orange one got the idea when he made his a Halloween prop) This is from a race series I sponsor. (do the graphics and give away a small prize) Note: He could use a detail. lol.
  5. Posted a couple in this thread: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1888 I wish I was the photographer that some of you guys here are!
  6. I know right!? I drive this overly small car to compensate for my overly large... haha, nevermind. Edit: Oh and if you really do want a ride, just go to LotusTalk.com and look in the regional forums. Perhaps there will be a gathering in your area. I'm sure you can find someone to give you a ride. Heck I've let tons of people drive mine. (Just don't get your hopes up about being able to take my bike for a ride! - in 8 years that's only happened for about 3 of my closest friends- who all have more riding experience than me)
  7. And I don't know if pics with topless women (with a "handbra" in matching undergarments are allowed here) so you can check out a couple in the Chrome Orange Mafia facebook group here if you would like. Sorry, no links to them either
  8. Thanks guys. (In all fairness I like the Vettes too. -Can't own em all!) Pics of several other Lotus I've done stripes and graphics on starting in post #71 here: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f92/official-stripes-thread-post-your-pictures-here-45365/index4.html Mine is the orange with black stripes (and now black, carbon fiber and reflective orange numbers on the doors) I'll be adding more to my website (in sig.) soon as well soon. I just need to get caught up on some other work first. Doesn't seem I ever take many of my own car. here are a couple with others.
  9. Actually guys I can give you a real answer here and not a guess! I sell a ton of paint protection film and install a fair amount. I provide awesome pricing on it too. For an example check out the prices on my website - ChuforiaGraffix.com of the Lotus kits- my price vs the retail price. I'd be more than happy to drop kits in the mail for you guys. Anyway's here is your answer: YES! Detail it. Wax away. 3M has their own polymer sealant they actually recommend being used before the paint protection film is installed. I have used several sealants waxes minutes before the clear bra installation including Meguires NXT and gold class, Zaino, 3M, etc (remember I'm a new Adams member- so don't beat me!) on the really tough spots we will remove the polish first- like around the edges of the hood where the film wraps. Acutally I just installed new rocker coverage on my Elise yesterday. After 4 years and 44k miles including a few track days I was ready to freshen it up a little for a big show/gathering I'm doing in a couple months. (if you aren't familiar with the Lotus the rockers take a real beating, especially when running R compound wider tires and tracking them. all the other coverage is still fine though) I had used NXT on it 4 years ago when I put it on and never had any issues with the edges lifting or anything. Personally I would stick more with a synthetic polymer sealant over a carnuba wax, but that is just my personal opinion as it's closer to what 3M recommends. A customer returned with his black C5 Z06 last week (to add more protection with a new full coverage door kit) and he preferred Meguires Gold Class and and had brought it with him. When he was done wiping it off, we covered the doors and no problems. Just clear as glass protected black Z06 doors. All clear bras are not the same. There are several products on the market, and several grades by each manufacturer. Coated, uncoated, thick, thin- there is a lot. All you need to know is I sell the best. lol. (I stick to the big brands, only coated films, 8M thickness, etc). I use high grade 3M and depending on the application another brand as well (don't want to give all my secrets away but it's good enough for the local Ferrari, Aston, Lambo, Lotus, Porsche, etc dealers) which is a little more "stretchy" and easier to self install, as well as stronger. Both are amazingly optically clear and even on a black car you absolutely cannot tell they are on there from more than 5 feet away. And when the whole panel is wrapped you can't tell from closer than that, even on black. The stuff is Amazingly easy to work with and very forgivable. Its pretty hard to F it up- unless you don't clean the car or drop the sticky side on the ground. If you are competent and can operate a spray bottle and a rubber squeegee (I'll include one and instructions) you will be able to install a kit.
  10. I searched "flat black" and "matte black" and found nothing. So pro detailers let me know. I do a lot of striping on vehicles (especially Lotus vehicles) and matte black has certainly been trendy over the past year. I have them on my own car as well. Anyway most cleaning products, washes, etc tend to make the products shiny or show build up in them. What can I use that will clean them and not give them a sheen. The Adams clear polish is great for my gloss vinyl (and paint protection film) projects and I recommend it to my customers- but I'd also like to find a product that is great on matte as well. Surely someone with an old muscle car with a flat black hood, or one of the new retro cars like the Challenger has an answer here.
  11. Hey guys, just joined here and from what I can tell it seems to be a "Corvette Forum"?? (not there is anything wrong with that!) and I was just wondering if anyone here was into lightweight cars, specifically Lotus? I am on the planning committee for LOG29, which is an annual nationwide Lotus Owners Gathering, and the 29th year for it! May 28-June 1. I caravaned up to LOG28 last year in Indy and it was a blast. We have a lot of stuff planned this year and a very full schedule. If anyone is into small bright shiny sports cars I'd love to see you there. There will be a couple hundred Lotus cars there, and lots of track events, mountain drives, etc. There is certainly room for a detailer or two (and always room for sponsors) and the Barber museum is just mind blowing. Especially if you like motorcycles (over 1100!!!) You can check it out or sign up at LOG29.com Some hightlights include: Scenic mountain drives Go cart racing "Road and Track" reception featuring Peter Egan Talladega super speedway experience (drive on the track) International motorsports hall of fame tour Tech Session: Performance driving theory and car control clinic. Concours Nasa Club and Vintage races Barber Museum tour Lotus F1 and vintage racecar review Car control and accident avoindence clinic Banquet presented by Sports Car World 2+ minute autocross sponsored by Yokohama Tires More Nasa Club and Vintage Races More Scenic drives and tours HPDE Drivers Education event at Barber sposored by Griffin Rad. Track demonstration of Barber Lotus Collection (I believe the largest privately held Lotus racing car collection in the US if not the world and they keep them in running order/ take them on the track) Driving simulator- Drive a virtual lotus on the Barber track, before you actually go driving on the Barber track. Pretty neat! Guest speakers (can't reveal them all but we will have some special guests from England) ....and much much more! It will be a full weekend.
  12. I love that he got on the news. Awesome guy!
  13. Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Very happy with what I've tried so more, can't wait to try out more. Really need to pick up some more of those supa thick microfibers!
  14. Just posted one for the photo contest. I know I don't have a shot, but eh, I like the product and took the pic. I have to get some work done right now, sending out a lot of paint protection film today and making a graphics orders going to a Lotus in France and doing some stuff on a Speed World Challenge car tomorrow. Playing with cars for a living FTW!
  15. Hi guys, Found out about Adams from Jason's posts on Lotus Talk. I've liked what I've tried so far. I do vehicle graphics, paint protection film, etc and have found the clear polish product to be excellent. You can find me on Lotus Talk under the same name and see lots of pics of the cars I work on on my site, ChuforiaGraffix.com (being updated now so many more pics coming soon)
