  1. Yes, one plush was enough to dry the whole car. My car is pretty small but when I'm done drying, the plush towel is only about 2/3rds saturated and could easily continue to dry something larger.
  2. Welcome, Dan! Gorgeous car, I love the color/stripe combo! I've got black vinyl stripes. When doing paint correction, I've used fine polish with the Cyclo and foam pads with no problem. When simply cleaning up water spots, etc. I use Revive applied by hand with one of the blue applicators. I top them off with whatever else I'm using on the paint - Detail Spray, Brilliant Glaze, Americana wax, and lately, the new H2O Gloss & Guard. Have not had any problems with any of these products or techniques. The only caution is that when using the Cyclo and fine polish, the foam pads tend to pick up some of the black color so I do that last to avoid spreading any onto the paint.
  3. ^Ah, yes, I believe you're right about that.
  4. Did a quick wash this afternoon and decided to go with H2O G&G again just to try the wet application (having done dry the last time). Again, very impressed with the product - super easy to work with and leaves a great shine. After washing and rinsing, I went over the car with the nozzle set at a thin stream to rinse down excess water. That technique worked well, as I only needed one damp plush towel to apply the G&G and one Double-Soft to dry and buff the whole car. For me, the H2O G&G fits into my detailing routine as an interim sealant for exactly this time of year. I did a full polish and Liquid Paint Sealant last October so at this point, the finish is a little beat from never-ending road construction and winter driving but I won't be able to do another full polish and LPS for another few weeks. Until then, the H2O G&G seems to be perfect for maintaining/beefing up the sealant protection, especially on the hard-hit areas like the lower panels and bumpers. Normally, I would apply LPS twice a year but I'm also debating whether I could apply it once a year, 2 coats to max out the protection, and use H2O G&G the rest of the time. Might depend on how bad the scratches and swirls get. If I can live them in between LPS applications, H2O G&G may be the way to go. If I can't, then it's polish and LPS.
  5. It comes up if you search on the keyword "plush". Here's the link. http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-giant-soft-microfiber-towel.html?___SID=U I got them in blue which I didn't find, so they may be sold out. A number of folks mentioned they really prefer the plush drying towel to the GW and since my clearcoat seems to scratch easily, I decided to try the plush. I like the performance of the plush better than the GW - picks up water more quickly, absorbs better when saturated, and hopefully reducing swirls.
  6. We finally built a 4-car garage 2 years ago - what a godsend. Never had one before and didn't realize how much I would like it. My dream (for the next house) is 2 of them - one to store the cars, another for the detailing bay and workshop.
  7. Thanks! Of course, it lasted exactly 24 hours. Had to run an errand the next day. Sunny but some clouds around, one of which - ONE, mind you - rained all over Pooch's new shine Oh well, that's the sad life of the daily driver. Doesn't stop me from keeping him as shiny as possible.
  8. Tried out the H2O Gloss & Guard today - what a terrific product! I've gotten the coupe pretty well cleaned up from the winter but there was still tar and stuck-on road mung that needed clay. Since clay can take off some of the sealant, and I'm not going to have time to do a proper polish and seal for a while, I wanted something that would provide a bit more protection. I am not disappointed! Easy to use, beautiful shine. Started off with a good wash. First, wheels and wells. One bucket with shampoo, the other to rinse. Wells get a spray of APC the scrubbed with medium woolie and shampoo. Wheels are washed down with the large woolie and shampoo. Wash down the vinyl trim with a utility towel and shampoo. Spray the car down with the foam gun (liking that, too) then hand-wash with the wool mitt and my new 10" wash pad. The covered buckets are wash water and rinse water. Covers are on to keep out falling plant bits and small flying creatures that can't resist the shampoo. Followed up with clay on the lower panels where the road mung had collected. Pulled in to the garage to dry due to the afore-mentioned falling plant bits and small flying creatures. Sprayed down with Detail spray to dry. Used my new plush drying towel (totally sold on these). On to the serious shine. I opted for the "dry" application of the G&G in order to finish cleaning up the lower panels with Revive. First, a blow-dry with the Sidekick to get out the drips then went over the panels with Revive. Followed up with G&G sprayed onto a damp double-soft, wipe over a panel, then dry and buff with another double-soft. Easey-peasey! And check out the shine! I used a little on the wheels and it even brought out some gloss on the matte finish. Final step is putting all the towels into pre-soak - last two buckets (bringing my total to 6!), one for dark, the other for white, with two or three good pumps of APC. These will soak until tomorrow when I can wash them.
  9. I put in an order a little ahead of this sale but who cares!! Two of those lovely plush drying towels and a bottle of G&G...guess what I'm doing today...
  10. Welcome from NE PA (Stroudsburg)!
  11. Gave the coupe its first real wash of the season. Tried out the new foam gun but the stupid camera malfunctioned so no pics
  12. There's a guy down the road that has a flock of those miniature goats - does that count?
  13. Had high hopes for this weekend but ended up with another trip to the car wash followed by a Rinseless wipe-down. On the bright side, I'm swapping out the Blizzaks for the all-seasons today so there's light at the end of the winter tunnel!
  14. ^^^I'll have to give this a try. MINIs are notorious for drips and the coupe is particularly skilled at holding on to water in the trunk drains and wing well then dribbling it out a little at a time long after I've finished blow-drying with the Sidekick and a final buffing.
  15. What he said... just finished shoveling 6 inches off the drive.
  16. And a belated from northeastern PA!
  17. Opened the package with my new foam gun! Now if only I had a driveway to use it in, instead of an ice rink. 5 more inches of snow last night, up to high 30s today to melt it then down to single digits tonight to freeze it all solid again. sigh...
  18. Ah, didn't realize that. It explains why I sometimes have trouble with lint from a plush buffing towel and other times, not. Good tip, thanks!
  19. Great info, Dylan! My husband has been working on a stubborn spot on the hood of his roadster but after reading this, he's decided to be more cautious in his approach. Just like you've always advised - start with the lightest correction that you think you can do and work backwards as needed. Thanks, Doc!
  20. And doesn't it annoy the @$%#** out of you when you park far away and someone STILL parks next to you????? The MINIs have the same problem with those black pillars. The good news is that they correct pretty easily with Revive or light polish. The bad news is that it doesn't last long. Thank you, BMW.
  21. Hopefully this link will work but if it doesn't go to the Detailing Library, FAQ on product shelf life. Lots of good info on temperature sensitivity of various products. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/17083-faq-do-the-products-have-a-shelf-life/
