  1. There was a pretty big thread on this just recently. http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/26248-washing-microfiber-towels/
  2. lmao, biased advertising at its best. Just look at who is in the video. Howie Long.... NFL..... GM sponsors them big time, not to mention they show that its a Chevy commercial at the end. Horrible acting also lol. Reminds me of the Verizon commercial with the maps. Notice how they don't use the maps anymore comparing them and AT&T? They got sued for falsifying their own and AT&T's real coverage.
  3. Yea the one issue is the amount of rock chips on it because of its higher miles. Most are on the front bumper, hood, and side skirts, and of course some scars on the rear bumper right behind the wheels from the tires spinning lol. I'm replacing the side skirts soon with Cobra ones. Eventually will get a cowl hood and Roush bumper. That should clear it up a lot. Focusing too much on performance right now (ordered coilovers yesterday), Mostly getting her ready for Autocross season, may look into a few road races at Sonoma or Laguna Seca if i have the spare cash.. She will be back to her full glory one day though.
  4. I agree. I tried the multi-day detail before. And it ended up sucking. It sat overnight so i could polish and wax the next day. I never even got to it because i had to wash it again and didn't feel like it. Start early and do it all in one day.
  5. Well i guess since others have posted it here is mine lol. I wanted a picture with Mater also, but didn't have great timing throughout the day for that one.
  6. Ok so i finally got around to using the products today. First thing i can say is WOW! That Rinsless Wash worked better than the regular car soap i used to use. Without needing a hose and that whole mess this was so much easier. I'm definitely never going to use a hose again, maybe to bust the dirt loose initially, but then after that its all rinse-less wash from there. When i used the rinseless i also sprayed down the panel with the waterless wash first just to help the lubricity to not induce swirls. After the first wipe i could already tell i was going to really like it. And the Deep Wheel Cleaner was amazing, and it was awesome seeing it turn purple, was kind of tricky not using a hose for that since i would have to use rinseless wash on it afterward and some of the DWL would stay inside the lug nut area. Only tricky thing about it. The Lug nut brush worked well, and actually i did the entire wheel with just that little brush, worked pretty well compared to big and bulky brushes. After all that I waxed it. I have a nearly new thing of Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax so i used that with the red hex grip applicator, in the past i've used microfiber discs and the hex grip applicator actually made it a lot easier to apply evenly and thin. With the microfiber discs it would always go on too thick and uneven and be a PITA to remove. Not this time. Next is the tire shine. The last stuff i used was Turtle Jet Black shine, it has a black tint to it so it was kind of delicate with working around the lip of the wheel. As for darkness the Adams stuff worked really well, was nice and deep looking. I guess the only test right now is to see how long it lasts. Overall, i can say i'm very impressed with the Adams products, i will definitely be a return customer!
  7. I haven't tried the Adams tire shine yet, out of all the ones i have tried i will say i've always been more a fan of applying the dressing onto an applicator and then wiping it on. I'll probably end up doing that with the Adams tire shine i just got from my recent order. My car has somewhat lowprofile tires (285/35-18s) so i've never really had much luck spraying it directly on the tire.
  8. Just curious have you tested that on paint as well? If so how does it compare to just standard detail spray?
  9. Yea thats exactly why i got the thing of waterless wash, mainly just to have the bottle with the sticker already on it. If it works well then i'll be ordering the Rinseless wash in gallons and diluting them.
  10. I only wish my paint didn't have so many rock chips. 145k miles gave it more than i like. I am running out of my Mothers Back to Black and my Meguiars Ultimate Polish, so i'll probably be picking up the VRT and the Paint Finishing Polish next. Probably also the Total Interior Detailer.
  11. Well i finally ordered my first Adams products. I've always thought their products looked great online, and i believed they work. Well i bit the Bullitt (pun intended, my car is a Bullitt edition) and placed an order. The order included: Waterless Wash Deep Wheel Cleaner Bucket w/ Grit Guard Rinseless Wash Trim & Lug Nut Brush Red & Yellow Applicators Detail Spray All Purpose Cleaner Compact Travel Bag And to my surprise they also threw in a thing of tire shine and the block applicator.. Which i was was very impressed that i got that also. The Travel Bag is very nice, i can tell everything on it is high quality, and it was able to fit almost whatever i wanted to put in it, its nice going from the tub i was using to something enclosed and organized, now it'll be a lot easier transporting all my stuff around. I've used quite a few Meguiars products, as well as 2 Mothers products, and a few from Chemical Guys. I have not used the products yet, as i am waiting for Friday night before a car show on Saturday (not entering, but my car is still going to be seen by other people i know), but even as of right now i think I am sold on Adams products, this is most likely going to be the first of many orders.
  12. The delete kit cost me around $40-50 to make, and it is more sturdy and looks better than one of those $150 kits. I looked around all the tires and the NT05 and the R888s are the 2 best tires that have sizes that will work well with what i need, and the R888 are $300 more, so i'll wait until i have more experience on sticky tires before getting those, or even separate track tires. I was going to supercharge the car soon, but that didn't pan out well so i'm back to suspension.
  13. Alright, so unlike the typical Muscle Car guy i decided to go a different route with my Mustang. I'm aiming it to be more of a corner carver. Stuff like Autocross, mountain roads, road racing ect... I have a list of all the modifications done so i'll copy and paste them (they aren't all performance, pretty much everything i've spent money on for the car is in the list). Keep in mind this is also my daily driver. I've essentially spent more money on the car in mods than i bought it for lol 8" Antenna SCT SF3/X3 Tuner Mach 1 Grille Delete & Chin Dark Smoked Headlights Mac Offroad H pipe Flowmaster Super 44s 18x9/10 Black Bullitt Wheels Smoked Tail Light Tint MGW Shifter Pioneer AVH-X4500BT 4.10 rear gears Rear & Quarter window tint Corbeau Harness Bar Corbeau 3in 5pt Harness Maximum Motorsports Subframe Connectors Maximum Motorsports Panhard Bar Maximum Motorsports Torque Arm Maximum Motorsports Rear Lower Control Arms 2003 Cobra Side Skirts (waiting paint) 2003 Cobra Mirrors Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft Drilled and Slotted Rotors Russell Stainless Brake Lines (awaiting Delivery) Custom rear seat delete Up next is: NT05 tires (295/35-18 rear & 265/35-18 front) Maximum Motorsports Coilover conversions (already have half the parts) Roll Fenders (to lower it more without rubbing) Sparco EVO racing seats MOMO Trek R wheel w/ NRG quick release hub SA 2010 rated helmet Racing gloves. As of right now the items that are up next are what i want done by February when the autocross events start to happen again. I also made my own custom seat delete kit. I'll add some pictures in to show you. I don't have a lot of pics of the other mods on my computer, so i'd have to grab them off instagram, if you have one mine is @Soccerluvr4
  14. What i've usually done is most durable on the bottom and then work up to the one that wears off first. So i would do Sealant->Wax->Glaze Haven't tried it with Adams products yet so i'm not sure how they react to that method. Will try it out sooner or later.
  15. Is it a brand new pad you are using? Often a new pad will soak up a lot of the product, i usually take some product and rub it all over the pad first to kind of "prime" it. That way its all softened up with the product you are going to use and it isn't really going to absorb anymore of it. One of the reasons i like to have a different applicator for each product.
  16. How long is the code good for? I haven't bought any Adams products yet, but i want to make a pretty big order soon. Just want to make sure i don't miss it.
  17. Thats a really good idea. I might have to try that. Will just have to move it away from the other cars to not get any of the overspray on them (and so i have more room) but that won't be an issue at all. Could literally pull it up right next to my building.
  18. What I usually do is wet the car down for the wash, then i go over the car with the wash mit getting all the contaminants off, then rinse it down again to get all of it off. Then I actually use the soap bucket again and will soap up a whole panel again (ie hood) and then use that for the clay bar. Speeds up the process so much, never felt like the clay was dragging, and the clay actually comes out looking fairly clean after each large panel.
  19. The car doesn't get driven a whole lot since i live on campus and work from my computer i only ever drive the car when i want to, and thats usually on weekends. So a majority of it is collected dust, but when i do drive it i hit mountain back roads so i do go heavy on the braking over there, still shouldn't be too much compared to dirt.
  20. Never planned to cross them. I have certain microfibers for wheels and others for the paint, i even wash them separately.
  21. Unfortunately i looked around and there aren't any of the self serve car washes anywhere around here, otherwise that would have been my top option. Its a private college tucked into a small part of the bay area (really nice part, but secluded). And since its a small campus there aren't really any ways to get access to a hose. So like Chris05GTO mentioned i was thinking of either the regular waterless wash or rinseless wash, just wanted to see if anyone else had an out of the box idea or experience like this.
  22. I think i have the shortest list in the entire thread. 2001 Mustang Bullitt (named her Jade) Bought it used with 139k on it 3 days after i turned 18. My first and only car as of right now. If i wasn't so attached to it, or if it was a regular GT i probably would have sold it by now for a Cobra or new 5.0. But i just can't bring myself to sell it.. So it's my money pit right now. The day i bought it How she sits now
  23. So living on campus at school I don't have any access to a hose, so i'm going to start using a rinsless wash, and waterless wash method for the car. Now i also have painted and clear coated wheels with a polished lip so i like maintaining them to the same quality as the paint. My question is. Being painted and clear coated they are suseptible to swirl marks like the rest of the paint, what would be the best route to go with for cleaning them? Since brake dust is usually a bit more harmful than just regular dust/dirt i want to be a bit more careful. I am going to get a bucket i can fill up in my room, but i don't really like the idea of mixing the bucket i use for my paint with brake dust. (will get more buckets later, but i'm allocating a mjaority of my funds for my upcoming supercharger installation). I have plenty of microfiber towels though. If its important I use Hawk HPS pads. Here are pics of the wheels. Thanks
