  1. I use VRT on my trucks handles and trim and it makes a huge difference. But I do have to reapply it every other wash or so.
  2. Im mostly looking for those small dark gray utility towels. The ones that come with the interior detailer kits. Tire N Rubber cleaner and Detail Spray are called for. Just have the invisible undercarriage spray left.
  3. I heard that a lot so I skipped on the tool. Does the clay mitt also work with glass?
  4. Thats good to hear, the car im referring to is also a ls1 trans am lol. I was more skeptical about the truck and the suv. I guess ill give it a shot. Did you prefer using it with or without the geo impression tool? I only bought the refill because I heard a lot of people prefer not using the tool.
  5. So this is the first time ive gotten the "newish" visco clay bar. I still have half of a big blue bar, and 1 pack of the older gray bar. I still havent used the new visco clay because I noticed its way too thin. The big blue bar can be broken down into various pieces and used on multiple cars including a whole truck. The older gray bars had 2 separate pieces in the pack so it would also last a long time. I know looks can be deceiving but I just cant imagine this new thin bar will last at all. I know how claying works and youre supposed to stretch, knead, and flatten it again for a clean surface, but theres only so many times you can do that before it gets completely dirty. So my question is, for those who have used this visco clay along with the older versions, how long have they lasted for you guys? I have 1 car, 1 mid size suv, and a half ton truck that I need to clay. Will this be enough?? I just received it and I dont want to use it in case I need to return or trade it.
  6. +3 on APC. I blast some on the pads, then massage the dirt out as much as I can then water them down and wring the pads out. Repeat if necessary.
  7. The 5.5 pads are made to go with a 5" backing plate. I dont think theres anything wrong using them with a larger backing plate as long as they are centered perfectly so they dont vibrate like crazy.. Just be extra careful so that the backing plate doesnt touch the paint in those weird angles. However, the backing plates are about 10-15 bucks, I would consider one just for convenience sake.
  8. toua, do they smell any different? Im waiting for mine to run out so I can try out the new formula, but I still have about 3/4 bottle left.
  9. Thats interesting, I didnt know they changed the scent this year. But I agree with last years scent being a bit too spicy. Still nice, but from 5 feet away lol
  10. Welcome to the forum! If you are considering the swirl killer, they have a great deal right now.
  11. I agree with the above. However, from my experience, both americana and buttery wax gives the car a lot more shine than brilliant glaze. Ive tried different combinations (glaze first, wax first, black car, light car, etc..) and I get a lot more shine with wax than glaze. I also prefer wax first and glaze last, but theres no wrong way.
  12. Yes, it will do no harm. Do you also use leather conditioner? Usually with the conditioner it helps keep the interior dust free for weeks.
  13. Ive personally never used the cyclo, but it just looks like such a hassle to use. Ive heard its actually very smooth and easy to use, but IDK if its the size or the fact that you need to use 2 pads just make it very inconvenient for me. Plus I like that you can change the backing plate size on most DA polishers and work in smaller more difficult areas.
  14. I strongly suggest you do clay bar the car. Youll be surprised at the difference that alone does. Plus sealant needs a really clean surface for it to last anywhere near its advertised time.
  15. Welcome Dustin! As Chris mentioned, Paint Sealant is more for long term protection. H2O GG is a good product for upkeep. Every few months as you mentioned or even every few washes and it will help protect your car even longer. H2O also adds some nice shine to the car. Then you can add some wax if you want or you can skip that. Wax will add even more shine and a bit more protection too. The last layer you want to add is brilliant glaze, which is also optional. Brilliant Glaze wont really protect much, but it will add some really nice shine. It doesnt last long either, but its really easy to apply.
  16. Welcome! Post a pic of your car and fire away with questions
  17. I think that sounds like a good plan. Buying little by little gives you a chance to try out what you have and really get your technique down. Im not sure if you also need any products for your interior. Now might be a good time to get those too. As far as exterior protection, I think youre covered with the sealant, but for a truck I recommend invisible undercarriage spray. It doesnt really have any benefits besides looks.
  18. +1 on the vinegar. Let it soak for a few minutes and that should soften up the stain for you to wipe off or clay bar.
