  1. The only time I miss my old Ram was detailing time! They are big flippin trucks! Lol

Not significantly more real estate than my 1500 Sierra Denali just much more tedious to get the roof hood and windows. But I am loving the granite vs. the jet black of my Denali. This also has less plastic to dress.

  2. Looks great. Be sure to take advantage of the current 15% off sale to restock your supply!

No need to restock.. I stocked up last spring and with the addition of a new little guy and my wife changing hours at work my detailing availability was cut down dramatically. I need to go through my current stock or start gifting to friends. I have 3 bottles of buttery that I don't see myself using. Between paint sealant and americana I don't have a need for buttery.

  3. post-12738-0-69528200-1484615986_thumb.jpgpost-12738-0-80332600-1484615991_thumb.jpgpost-12738-0-17036400-1484615996_thumb.jpgIt's a big f'ing truck! Sprayed off at coin op. Used their soap since I was strip washing anyway. drove home cleaned the wheels tires with a separate wheel bucket. Used foam gun with APC mixed and soaked the truck then strip washed the entire truck. Dried with master blaster, quick detailed the entire truck dressed the wheels and tires, Brilliant Glaze, then paint sealant, then clayed the windows and used window sealant.. I would have clayed the entire truck but felt very smooth and was limited in time.. I'll do it during the spring detail. Gonna drive the wife's car tomorrow so I can apply sealant to the door jams

  4. So I bought a new camper last fall and I sealed the rear of it one afternoon then got too busy to do the rest. I was surprised tonight when I washed it how well the water beaded still 6 months later.

My question question about LPS is is there any benefit to applying to to the hard plastic trip that is shiny or will it not adhere to it?

I applied it to about 1/4 of one side tonight before it got dark and was pretty pleased with the results.

Also what product would you recommend for the tongue that is painted/powdercoated but it is pretty dull chalky.

    Thanks

  5. Yesterday I got up and washed my truck because I am leaving for vacation and it will get to sit in the garage for a week and I will return to a nice clean car. I also wanted to test out my new foam gun and  Master Blaster Revolution. I hadn't been a fan of washing at home because I like using a pressure washer and hate dragging it out from the shed and setting it up. So I have been going to the coin op (mine takes debit cards) and using their water and taking my buckets and hand washing in the bay. I was tired of feeling guilty for doing this while people waited. I always left the time run so I wasn't ripping off the owner of the car wash but I still felt bad and usually tried to rush through my wash. But my first wash at home went very well. I was able to spend extra time doing the wheels and wheel wells first. I then used foam gun which worked great and washed the truck. Used the MB after rinsing and I can't believe I have been detailing for so long with out one. I know have 6 GW drying towels that are going to be collecting dust as well as my Sidekick.

After the wash I used tire shine on the tires and VRT on the plastic trim. Then I followed that up with a coat of Brilliant Glaze. I used my new Cycle 2 weeks ago but didn't have time after putting sealant to use brilliant glaze. Then I decided it was time to pull my wheels off and clean the barrels and seal them. I have had a can of quick sealant for a while that I haven't used so I used that on both sides of the wheels and put them back on.

Woke up this morning and hit the truck with detail spray to get ready for a coat of americana. I have had this for about 3 months and wanted to try it. This stuff was super easy to use. I haven't had time to get the truck out in the sun as my 3 yr old wanted me to come in and play with him so no pics.

  6. Thanks for the reply.. Moving it is not really a concern at all. I can get my hands on F550 and Ram 5500 if I needed and guy I would set up beside had GMC 3500 to move his 5th wheel that I can use. I will also not be towing it more than about 10 miles each way. So bumper pull vs 5th wheel pulling down the road wont be much of a difference when making the decision. I think we'll look around. and if we fall in love with something then pull the trigger.

  7. Okay so I think my wife has me talked into getting a "camper" I have several family friends that have a camper at a local place and they are talking us into getting a the site that just opened up next to them. I will only move the trailer 2 time a year in the spring to install it and and the fall when it closes down. I'm in Indiana so year round isnt an option.

Looking for opinions on what to look for as I have 0 background in this field.

    Looking to stay around $30k

Should I stay away from used?

Any manufacturer I should look at?

Weight isnt a factor as I have access to a truck that I can do my install and removal with.

    Thanks for all replies.

  8. Changed the oil and quick detailed it tonight. Then took my 2 year old down the street in it. Put insurance on it today and plan on driving it to the golf course in the morning. One of the reasons I hadn't driven it much was I thought I have a U-joint going out but put it on jack stands last night and found that the drive shaft bolts had come loose.

  9. Thanks.. I'd love to drive it more.. The problem is my wife has been in seconds for the last 3 years and when I had it all apart I didn't put rear seatbelts back in. And not real comfortable putting my 3 yr old in the front seat. But she is on days now so hopefully I'll start driving it.. Oh yea and my wife hates how loud it is so she doesn't enjoy date nights in it!!

  10. Well just placed an order and added several of the "blue" items. Haven't had to use much of my products for the last few years due to having a company car and my SRT Jeep rarely got driven so I didn't use much. Changed jobs and traded the jeep for a 15 Sierra Denali and got a black one so now I will be driving and detailing regularly. I really love this forum.
