  1. After cleaning and shining my wheels and tires I paid some attention to my vinyl. First wiping them down with some detail spray but I didn't like how it came out so I tried APC instead and they wiped totally clean with no grease marks or anything. Then after that I applied some of my new favorite product, Brilliant Glaze!!!! This stuff is the bomb I think I'm gonna stay more towards this stuff followed by a wax vs the VRT. Don't get me wrong I love that stuff it's just a little too matte for my taste (especially for my gloss stripes) and no matter what I do they come out greasy. After my next wash I'm gonna wax the vinyl with Buttery Wax and see how that comes out ???????????????????????? I'll try and post some pics

  2. If it were me I would clay, BG, LPS then wax. This is the order that I do all the time. By putting down the BG before the sealant it will make the BG last longer and it doesn't effect the longevity of the Sealant.

So you would recommend this after going over with a clay bar?

Also Chris, would you recommend claying my wheels and then glazing, sealing and waxing them?

    Thank you :)

  3. so what you guys are saying is,

    Clay

    LPS

    Wax

    Glaze

It makes sense to me to have the best protection layer as a base then top it off with a wax for more protection and shine then finish it with a glaze. Tomorrow I'm spending the day giving my car a full detail so i just wanted some insight! Would any of you recommend sealing, waxing, or glazing my wheels? they're powdercoated gloss black

  4. Skip #3.

You always want the most protection as your base layer so LPS as base topped with a wax should net deep shine and rock hard protection. BG is more of a "makeup" product and probably lasts about a week. It is strictly a product for shine and really not meant to protect the finish. But it can be used frequently and is easy on and easy off if you like to frequently rub things on your paint :)

Ahhh I see. Well when I apply it I'll try to rub my car less frequently hahaha it'll be hard after a nice clay though

  5. Do you have any Waterless Wash? It has no gloss enhancement so you can give the stripes a wipe and it should remove any of the excess.

For what it's worth, I would dilute the VRT 1:1 to use on vinyl stripes, as there is only so much material to soak up the VRT. The smudges and streaks are excess product on the surface.

As opposed to plastic trim and tires which is much more porous and the product has more leeway to "soak in" the surface.

    Make sense?

Makes a lot of sense man thanks for the input! This morning I took a microfiber towel with some all purpose cleaner to the stripes and that did the trick. Streaks and smudges are gone but so is the VRT (swirl marks are back) so this time I'm gonna probably do it at night so it's cooler out plus rub it in way better and buff it better and probably try diluting first like you said!

  6. I'm not usually this happy on a Tuesday afternoon at work but Adams always puts a smile on my face!

Finally tried out some super VRT on my stripes and they came out almost perfect! They did exactly what I wanted them to, got rid of the swirl marks and minor scratches and scuffs. The finish was dry to the touch but the surface looked really greasy and even had a few smudges and streaks. I took some pictures but it's hard to tell. Basically I wiped down the stripes first with detail spray then applied the VRT with a block sponge and wiped off the residue with a glass towel (only one I had with me). Anything you guys can help out with that has to do with getting a nice clean finish altogether??

  7. If you are going to be going all out with it, the Paint sealant is by far one of the toughest products Adams makes, it will not last forever, and most say that even with daily drivers you can expect to get several months out of it, longer if topped with another protecting layer such as a wax or another sealant such as the H20 Gloss and Guard.

On a daily driver a sealant will offer far more protection for your paint than a wax will however the wax will give you a nicer looking finish, which is why many will top a sealant with a wax. While your finish will not be as pristine as say a car that is perfectly detailed and done with say a nice coat of only PW which will just give the car such a beautiful look but only last a few weeks on a daily driver.

Definitely sounds lies the route im going with, how's the buttery wax rank? It seems like it's the easiest to apply out of all of them. Plus, spending the money on patriot or Americana on a daily driver seems a little pointless to me

  8. So I'm in the market for a good wax/sealant but of course I annoy the hell out of everybody with my million and one questions so if you guys are willing to read what I have to say then any help will be much appreciated!!!

So I'm getting ready to clay bar my car In a week or so and I'm looking to replace my turtle wax ice liquid wax for something Adams obviously but there's just SO MANY products to choose from (not a bad thing). My biggest questions are, 1) what's the difference between a wax and a sealant and 2) which one should I use

Recently when Adams had their mystery box sale I bought one and got a bottle of paint sealant but I've heard of other products like buttery wax and brilliant glaze and what not. To clarify a few things I only have one car it's my daily driver obviously and kept outside 24/7 and I wash my car about 1-2 times a week. At the end of the day I'm looking for something that's gonna protect my paint, keep it looking clean and new, and lastly something with a good amount of shine!!!!

Like I said any amount of feedback is appreciated;) thanks!

  9. Hey guys!

Been a fan of Adams products for several months now and just recently found out about the forums so thought I'd sign up for some better insight and my love for these products! I drive a 2015 Chevy Camaro SS and only ever used Adams products. By far my favorites are detail spray, deep wheel cleaner and, total interior detailer along with the great white microfiber towels those are amazing. Next I'm on the hunt for some stuff for my vinyl stripes mostly to fix some scuffs/scratches/swirl marks so if you guys got any info hit me up!

Anyway, it's great to be here and I'm excited to be apart of the Adams family and hopefully meet some cool new people :)
