  1. I essentially have all the Adam's exterior products except for Americana but man are you guys making me try this combo after seeing all of these pictures! Time to add it to the next big order I suppose. I have the glaze now just need the Americana!

Americana is not only the easiest paste wax that I have used but the easiest among the liquid wax products as well! The first time I used it, I was in disbelief about just how easy it does go on/off! You won't be disappointed. A little goes a long way!

  2. I'm also itching for something like this. I recently learned that some coatings are advertised at 9H hardness - right after I took a stone to the hood that gouged 1/4" of paint off. Can't help but think 9H would have prevented it...

Certainly that is true, my point is this - there is no standard by which coatings are measured and a pencil hardness test is easily manipulated by the coating thickness. If you do the deep dive with some of these products, and assuming they even actually did the test and will provide the information the 9H rating only comes in at a thickness of 25µ or more which is an unrealistic thickness to recreate on the paint of a vehicle. At the more realistic level of 5µ the hardness evaluation can drop by 4 levels or more.

    Again - red herring.

Facts - can a coating provide increased resistance to light swirls and marring? Absolutely! Does a claim of 9H make one coating harder than another? Absolutely not unless both coatings are compared at their ACTUAL applied thickness for a set number of coats for the comparison.

    Stephen,

Dylan over at Rupes explained this in a far better way than I could. I am not sure what brand you found that is rated a 9H. I'm assuming it was a high priced coating?

    Dylan,

Thank you very much for your explanation. I couldn't even pretend to have as much knowledge. I know that some manufactures create a coating that turns so hard, that they say you have to wetsand to remove any highspots (After it has fully cured). This just sounds like a bad idea from the start. Since AP doesn't currently manufacture a coating, can you tell me if the CQuartz UK edition, (They claim better performance in cold weather) is a good choice. I did recently buy this coating, but I haven't applied the coating yet. I have a 12 month coating on now and I want to apply in Spring.

  3. I'm also itching for something like this. I recently learned that some coatings are advertised at 9H hardness - right after I took a stone to the hood that gouged 1/4" of paint off. Can't help but think 9H would have prevented it...

A coating might not have prevented this, but certainly minimized the damage. I know Adam's Polishes would be new to the "coating" game, but I highly doubt the first version would have a 9H hardness. Not necessarily because they can't, but with a coating this HARD, it certainly wouldn't be user friendly. Most coatings that achieve this type of hardness can ONLY be removed by wet sanding! I guarantee that if AP releases a product like this we would see: Ease of use, 12-18 months of protection, Under $75 price point (I hope).

  4. Sorry for the bump, but would love this idea. My bumpers and hood are getting painted here soon, then I'm doing a paint correction followed by a coat of LPS, and was thinking about how good it would be if Adam's got into the coating game. Would certainly buy it.

I appreciate the BUMP. I would like to keep this post active. Maybe if we can get enough men and women on board, we might receive! I am really crossing my finger (and toes) hoping for a coating! I would hope a minimum of 12 months, but would like to see 18-24 month coating!

  5. I'm certainly not implying that it is stripping protection or that it is a bad product in any way. Just that it rinsed off differently than anything else I have used. And it did seem to look good, but I pulled it in out of the sun right away to dry it. I'll have to use it more to be able to compare it to HGG, because that stuff leaves an amazing shine.

Matt... I do love the G&G! I work too hard to get my paint perfect and would be so upset if I used something to strip all my hard work off (Hence the love for G&G for protecting your wax etc...). I certainly want to hear more from others, but I know I'm going to buy it anyway!

  6. I posted this on the other thread you commented on but I will do so on here as well. I actually experienced some good sheeting to where very little beading was allowed with the water running off. Feel free to read my full review if you want more details and want to see pictures.

Sorry Jake! I just replied to your comment on the other post. I guess I should check out all the posts before I comment. Newbie mistake.

  7. Hello All! I know that Adam's has Paint Sealant that's easy to use. The question I've seen come up a couple times regarding a "coating". A long lasting ceramic type coating. I've heard that it's possible that the Adam's team might be working on one. I really want to know... Does anyone have a little inside information? Am I the only one who would like to see Adam's come up with a paint coating?

  8. Claying works paint miracles for laying the ground work of waxes. Done like you've done makes that paint and wax combo work. Our Cadillac with phantom gray metallic never looked so good, with only 4000 miles on it, until I clayed it. I pulled so much brown debri off that paint I was puzzled even the windows were rough with brown debri. I'm convicted these new ultra high performance brake packages with fast wearing pads are to blame for it. The Adams clay bar was getting a work out the first time used and it did admirably. That paint now POPS. I used the Americana wax and clayed it, worth every second of that exterior detail.

I had the same results brother! Pictures?? Is it the CTS-V?

  9. So I just have to brag for a minute. I've used so many high dollar waxes on this car. $130 Dodo Juice Supernatural, CG white wax, CG 5050 paste wax, and many others. I thought that the Dodo juice was worthless and that the 5050 was alright.

I ordered the Brilliant Glaze and Americana along with my mystery boxes. The day before it was due to arrive I clayed the car to prep the surface. Within 2 hours of receiving my order I had completed the glazing and topped it off with the Americana. I've used many paste waxes and liquid waxes. The paste wax in general is more difficult to apply and removed when compared to a liquid wax. I read many reviews on the Americana PASTE wax and didn't really know what to believe. I just HAD to try it out for myself. WOW!! I was left speechless as I drooled over the perfect paint that was before my eyes. It all wiped on and wiped off as easy as all the reviews had said. Such a unique paste wax experience.

I'm a detailing fanatic and have spent well over $2,000 trying out MANY, MANY products. My Accord is a 2016 Touring edition with a white pearlescent paint. I was unimpressed with how little of a pearl effect I was getting with the other high dollar products. I swear that no other product has made this paint literally change colors. As you can see in the pictures below (No camera filters were applied or altered) just how different my paint appears on the lighting conditions. It went from the brightest white it has ever been to the softest pearl at sunset. The pictures don't even do the paint justice, but you can see the color change. I am a FOREVER customer of Adam's Polishes and have no need nor desire to "shine chase" anymore. You knocked this product line out of the park! Enjoy these pictures!

  10. Good Morning Everyone,

My name is Tyler Evilsizor and I am new here to Adam's Polishes. I am in the process from converting over from the "Dark Side". I am really passionate about detailing. It bothers me to see swirl marks in paint, especially when it is a really nice car. I just want to start correcting paint when I see defects like that. I really have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Detailer) syndrome that bad! I was in a major car accident in March (3/2/2016). I was T-boned at 60 mph and after spinning hit a tree head on. All the Doctors say that I am lucky to be alive. I suffered a complete hernia (Muscle completely ripped away from the bone), a broken right wrist, a torn spleen, and some intestinal damage. This didn't stop me from my love of detailing. While I was in the hospital for 2 weeks recuperating, I researched polishing/waxing techniques and product reviews from every major company. This is the point in time when I come to find out about Adam's. I'm finally well enough to start detailing and really using my right hand again. I bought my first order "Detail Spray" and will be buying several Mystery Boxes when they return. Thank You Adam's Polishes. You helped to keep my spirit up with your videos and product reviews when all I could do was lay in the hospital bed. I will now be a proud supporter of your products!

    Much Love,

  11. I am a new customer to Adam's Polishes. I am coming from Chem**** G*** to Adam's. Here is my take on this situation. I am going to order products that I really want i.e. Patriot Wax, Brilliant Glaze, and the Clay Bar Kit. I want to receive truly random samples of other products. I don't like the idea of choosing what type of product I will receive. It does take the "Mystery" out of the mystery boxes.

If you have a selection for people to choose and also include an "Everything" type of mystery box, think about that shipping department! Now instead of the shipping department (who are already slammed due to the high quantity of MB's) simply filling boxes based on order quantity is out of the question. They have to change everything and ONLY include specific products for Exterior, Interior, and Tires/Wheels. I don't think this option is fair to anyone. Why fix something that isn't broken?! If you are tired of getting the same products in the MB, then buy less and order more product directly.

Sorry for the rambling on and on. I am a new customer to Adam's and maybe I am out of place to try to suggest anything. This is just my .02 and advise anyone to take it with a grain of salt. I know that the complaints about slow shipments would be even higher if the shipping department had to start packaging based on category. Adam's Polishes overwhelms that poor department during MB sales anyway. Excited to hear other options still...

    -Tyler Evilsizor
