  1. So picked up the brilliant glaze/americana kit along with the paint sealant (going to completely ignore the griots stuff i bought previously - def becoming an adams fanboy). I've never used a glaze before and been combing the forums but still have some questions. 1 - I know for coated vehicles it's been stated that sealants/waxes can actually hinder hydrophobic properties and are not needed. Would brilliant glaze affect anything if applied over a coating and will it still give a high gloss? 2 - Would Americana applied over the coating (or coating + bg) act the same as the wax on a non coated (but prepped) vehicle? 3 - When applying brilliant glaze - is it like a sealant or wax that you wait for it so dry before buffing or do you wipe it on and buff it off right away? Thanks all!
  2. So am I correct in assuming that using distilled water should negate this (or 99.xx% of it)? Assuming no floaties stealing polymers, do they expire on their own after a period of time? Just curious if I have solution left for say a month or 2 am I taking chances or will it be fine long as it looks the same (not expecting just getting ducks in a row).
  3. I used 2 oz to 2.5 gallons - because I didn't realize that the larger distilled container wasn't a 3 gallon container lol - def not gonna hurt having a little extra. I will say that my truck was suuuper dirty and the rinseless cleaned it easy. There was probably 3+ weeks of road sludge kicked up on the sides of it as my tires stick out past the fenders (you can kind of see in my profile pic). I tried pre-spraying with WW first and without and honestly didn't notice much difference so saved the rest of the WW for it's intended use, will probably make a slightly thicker rw solution in a bottle to pre-spray in the future. There were some occassions where i had to do another swipe but never once did i feel the towel grab. I can't speak as to marring from this as my truck already has swirls (only had it since December) so will need to correct those first but given the slickness of the rw and the feeling of the paint afterwards I'd feel pretty confident in using it for a pretty dirty vehicle. Here's what one of my 5 rags looked like before going into the wash (rest looked pretty identical, didn't try to pick out the dirtiest one just grabbed the last one before throwing it in the washer)
  4. Got my Adams Rinseless wash a couple weeks ago. Made a bucket out of it and threw some towels in - works great. But there's tons left in the bucket and guessing it'll be several more weeks before it's all used up. Thought I read a post about it only being good for a week or 2 but not sure this makes sense to me. I used distilled water in a clean bucket and don't double dip the towels so not seeing how any contaminants could affect it. Can anyone chime in from experience on how long the solution will remain good? It's still the same blue as before and kept in a gamma sealed bucket in the garage. Thanks in advance!
  5. Welcome to the forum, thought this might interest you (and it's on sale) https://adamspolishes.com/shop/specials/clearance/adam-s-anti-fatigue-mat.html
  6. Tried soaking with rinseless and diluted apc, took it right off, thanks!
  7. Didn't soak but was using a rinseless rag with ww. Not really sure what it is so not helpful there. Best guess would be tar, any recommendations on tar remover?
  8. Also a question, the first pic shows some caked on gunk, feels pretty stuck on there. Tried ww with little removal, any ideas?
  9. Finally got to try the black trim restorer kit. My running boards were looking terrible. Wanted to see how it compares to vrt for color so here's some before and afters. Pre cleaning (naked right, just trc left): Just vrt no trc Trc then vrt (did not get grooves) After trim restorer (trc, coating prep, restorer) In person the trim restorer look like a deeper black than vrt, personally I'm extremely happy with the results, can't wait to get to the rest of the trim on other side and bumper Nastyness
  10. I now have 2 ceramic boosts that i got from mystery box then bucket. I'll get around to testing it as well but I'm giving one of the bottles to my buddy for his 40th (along with some other duplicates i got as well - not that I won't use them but 40th bday is a big one and might as well bring someone else into the addiction). He has a 2016 black tundra w/ some nice 33's on it and the truck was coated in a product called cilajet which seems to be pretty good and not messed up by the dealership (amazingly) but I've never tested the hydrophobic properties of it so hoping the ceramic boost will work awesome for him. I did give him my bottle of wolfgang uber (which i actually like) to get him started after I'd received my Adams Rinseless. The uber might be a tad glossier than the adams rinseless but i like Adams smell better and when using it will be doing a detail spray after anyways. Will be a while but I will post back on how the boost works on his coated truck, actually really looking forward to that!
  11. Thanks for the info, have you ever tried g&g on half and wax on the other half? I might have to try this on my wife's car and see if she can see a difference and if so what she likes better. Finally got the garage cleaned out this past weekend so can get her car in there to get some work done. Been going through my stuff and will be dumping a lot of previous purchased products from other brands that were just so so. I only have 2 vehicles to maintain so all the stuff i've bought will last a while and no need to hoard the inferior stuff when I know i'll be buying more Adams in the future anyways. Glad to know the g&g will last - thought i'd read somewhere that someone used half a bottle on a single wash so was concerned about that. Really interested to see the difference with that and the americana.
  12. I know this is an older post but I've been reading up on caring for microfiber and the temperature thing seems to get to me. When reading my dryer temps it claims the following: Low 120-130 degrees Medium 130-140 degrees Medium High 140-160 degrees So what doesn't make sense to me is the boiling part. If it's ok to boil you towels which would mean 212 degrees or somewhere close to that if cooled slightly, that's way hotter than even the high of 160 degrees of my dryer. I understand the boiling method is only a few minutes while a dry cycle is considerably longer so is it the time at higher temps that's the issue? Does microfiber really melt at 140 degrees as others have mentioned and if so then is that for a certain period of time since many have reported boiling helps their clogged pieces?
  13. lol, ok just placed a new order, Americana shine kit (with brilliant glaze), h2o g&g, paint sealant, glass sealant and some more tire shine (that stuff is awesome). Hopefully can sneak this into the garage w/o being seen and pay off the cc before viewed as well LOL.
  14. Thanks all, looks like my cart is gonna grow a bit
  15. What's your normal regimen in between paint sealant - do you g&g and use a wax at same time or between different washes? Any noticeable difference in shine or longevity?
  16. I've started my conversion to all adams products but had some question on the g&g. First - will it affect/enhance/retract glass sealant on the windows? Second - many posts say only use it every 4 washes or so - if this is the case and it's over top of paint sealant, will that paint sealant still degrade over the same amount of time or how much longer would you get out of it? Also - how would you tell since g&g is adding protection as well. Third - it seems that while g&g is super easy to apply it becomes more of a pain to keep the towels free of the product afterwards perhaps negating it's benefits. Is the easy of g&g application worth the trouble with the towels? Last - what is the difference in durability between g&g and buttery wax or americana? Assume all 3 are applied over a sealant, for those that have used all 3 can anyone tell me average lifespan before re-application? Looking to get my addiction filled w/ another purchase which will include paint sealant and want to see what experienced users think is best for regular use to go over the top of it. Thanks in advance!
  17. So I need to beef up my microfiber collection. Was gonna get a 6 pack of the soft towels but currently only have a few single soft and looking for opinions on whether the double or triple are worth the upgrade. If they are can you try to explain why? Thanks in advance.
  18. Thanks Chris - As mentioned before I have tomorrow off so 3 day weekend will hopefully mean I finally get to start detailing my truck. Although it's white I can see that it has swirls all over and it's a big tundra crewmax so it's gonna take a while. I'll probably get my wife's car done first as I can knock that thing out in a single day and the paint is still in great shape on it but needs some sealant/wax. Hopefully the honeydo's won't pile up too much and I can review more of the products that I haven't had a chance to yet. Quick question on the black trim restorer (not trim ceramic). Is there a cure time on that before it can get wet?
  19. Gotcha - wasn't sure if there was some other product i hadn't seen. I also wonder if the h2o guard and gloss would do the same thing. already seems from the videos that water starts jumping off the paint when you spray it. I don't have any so no way to test but wonder if someone else has.
  20. I second this. Saw some youtube vids of the mckees 37 si02 stuff and while i can't speak to the shine or longevity, unless they're doing some video magic it's pretty damn impressive the beading from a simple spray and rinse - no pressure washer needed. I could see this getting very expensive though but would be great to have on hand if time was of the essence
  21. I have the griots 6" machine and got it before adam had the swirl killers. The lifetime warranty is great but i've found the machine stalls when going into curves so correcting curves is kind of a b****. I will be getting the 5" plate for mine to try and help with this and for flat panels it works great but you might want to make sure that lifetime warranty would transfer before you bought one. if it didn't and money is an issue you can pick one up at harbor freight but if it were me and i could afford it i'd def go with the 15mm swirl killer. trying to figure out how i can add that to my arsenal w/o the wife getting pissed lol.
  22. I wanted to take some time and plug some adams products that i've purchased and love. Wheels: Tire & Rubber Cleaner - man this stuff is awesome, I love how much it suds so you can really tell when you're pulling the dirt and brown crap out of it. I've used a few all purpose cleaners and none of them can touch this stuff for tires. Adams Tire Brush - Didn't realize how a quality brush that's properly sized can make the process go quicker and more efficient. The grip on this thing when wet is amazing. Only possible con was it lost around a dozen bristles when i first used it but it's not noticeable - probably just like a paint brush - the stragglers get left behind Eco Wheel Cleaner - I don't have a vehicle with high performance brakes (just a tundra and mazda 6) and I haven't tried the regular wheel cleaner yet, but I have tried Griot's heavy duty wheel cleaner (which smells terrible but I hear that's a common theme with the purple inducing chemical). For my wheels however the eco wheel cleaner suds a ton and cleaned the rims every bit as well as the griots with much better nasal results. Rims shined great and there was no issue with brake dust removal, no need to do a second application. Can't speak to how it works with high performance brakes but that's obviously not it's intention and for my cars I'll feel a lot safer using this! Exception - Original wheel woolie: While the quality of this was fine, the handle was extremely thin and slippery when wet so I really had a hard time controlling this. The angle was great to get behind wheels but I found myself frustrated with this one. Also this item disappeared on me somehow, no idea where it went so only got a few uses out of it. Glass: Glass Sealant - This stuff amazingly goes a long way. Unfortunately after 3 windshield treatments and still having about 3/4 of a bottle left the bottle disappeared (not a common theme, this was the only other thing that I lost). I decided to try Griots glass sealant for around the same price but 4x more quantity and I have to use more than twice as much for a single application and the directions say to re-coat. Performance of both is similar and I can't compare longevity as I can't do a side by side with the same conditions, but the Adams was waaaaay easier to apply. Glass Cleaner - Smells good, cleans super easy, seems more lubricated than invisible glass (which gives good results but feels almost grabby with towels). If price was not an issue i'd choose the adams over invisible glass. Towels: Ultra Plush Drying Towel - This thing amazed me, dried an entire SUV with no sealant/wax on it no problem no streaking. Previously used Griots pfm drying which to be honest is also amazing but feels bigger than this one and dry capacity seems the same. I also did not use this as written in the product description so will give that a go next time and see what the difference may be Green Glass towels - again comparing to the griots pfm glass towels. Both clean very well, the griots are palm sized with almost a silk backing compared to just a flat backing on adams. Adams feel like they're 3x the size of griots and while I like the idea of griots, if you're not cleaning an already clean glass or an un-sealed glass then I find my hand sliding off the silk and not controlling it very well. With the Adams towel I get the same results, no lint, no streaking, and it goes much further and i can shape it however I want. Single Soft - This thing is super soft and makes me want to try the double and triple soft towels. I've barely used it because it's so nice but just picked up some choc. mint detail spray so gonna give it a go with that for further testing Utility towels - pretty basic but well made Paint: New Red Wash Mitt: So this thing surprised the crap out of me. I've never really thought about wash media before, have a mitt and sponge from pep boys that seemed fine. Holy cow, this thing holds suds like no ones business. Love the color and with the white fibers it's easy to tell when you've picked up dirt and when it's come off w/ the grit guard. Love this thing and will probably get another in the future unless mystery buckets have a diff wash media to try. Can't see something being that much better. Waterless Wash: This stuff smells like fruit candy. Have only used it on one door panel so far but lubricity feels really nice. I used this in conjunction with rinseless though so not sure how it would do with just a dry towel - will probably only ever do that if there's a bird bomb or something. If anyone has any tricks w/ this let me know Rinseless Wash: Also just received this and used it once and can only compare this to the wolfgang uber rinseless. Slickness wise they feel the same to me. Wolfgang states to use it in slightly more water thus making it slightly more potent, but Adams smells better to me. Uber smells fine, just like fake cherry. Detail Spray: While I haven't used it much yet I used some in the sample kit I ordered and I like the scent but my wife doesn't. I did just receive the chocolate mint version which smells awesome, spot on guys! Using it compared to speed shine from griots and wolfgang uber mixed to a detail spray setting, adams is definitely my favorite. I can't speak for dust collection, but it takes a lot fewer wipes to be streak free and I don't really notice a shine difference between the 3 (I'm def not a shine connoisseur...yet). Interior: Interior scrubb mitt: I really like this thing. The only real negative i could give it is it picks up so much dirt if your interior is dirty that after the first square foot or so it's hard to tell if you're picking more up because the mitt is brown. Obviously this is not a negative as it's working but be aware if your interior is filthy and you like to see the dirt being picked up you'll need to be more creative about how you use this to get more of the surface of the mitt dirty or get more than one. Foaming interior cleaner: Using this in conjunction with the mitt will strip all grime off of the interior. Previously I've only used griots interior cleaner which does work well but i have not used that spray cleaner with the mitt or this cleaner with a regular microfiber nor do I have Adams regular leather and interior spray so can't speak to the difference between those, but my intention with this product was to use it with the mitt and that combo seems will clean anything in the car with no problem. Misc: Red Spray Nozzle: This thing is really nice, pretty powerful stream and easy to control - definitely high quality. Interior dressing applicator (red foam pads): Only can compare these to the foam pads i got from pep boys. These are twice as thick and feel softer and have been much nicer to use so far. I have the black trim restorer kit i'm waiting for better weather to try out on my bumper and running boards but can't comment on it yet. Will post more on the rest of the products i have but haven't tried yet as well as those i get in the 2 mystery buckets coming tomorrow. I know this got a little long winded but the main point is that every product of Adam's I've tried has been awesome (except grip on first angled wheel woolie). It gives me confidence that any product I continue to try will be awesome and with the company practices (110% guarantee, made in usa, high-quality fun to watch detailing videos, etc.) there's no need to look elsewhere. Thank you guys for awesome products and the great service (the 1 time I had to contact you via livechat on website).
  23. which sun joe unit did you buy? i just got the spx3000 unit (some jerk stole my gas powered one off side of my house) and both my cheapo foam cannons work on it. Not sure if your foam cannon is an adams or not or if they have a different connector but I did find mine fit but i had to just push them in to get them to lock whereas my old pressure washer i'd have to pull up on fitting to lock it in.
