  1. Great question and with the amount of great products it’s tough to choose. I have a black ceramic coated zl1(9H ceramic pro coated 1500$ Bronze package) vehicle which I have found reacts really well to ceramic waterless wash and the graphene detail spray. Regular waterless wash really shines also. I find I have to do small sections at a time. Apply and buff with different towel.  I used ceramic boost and the product ceramic pro gave me and neither went on well for me.

good luck - black is tough to keep clean!  I’m touching my girl every night 😝

  2. So  I put down a ceramic coat on my  camaro about 13 months ago. Ive done the CB and laid ceramic paste wax on it a few times.  Also BG and constantly WW and CB so I got a 22 SK for my birthday but Ive been hesitant to use it.  Ive got all the pads and the polishes.  My question is - Now what do I do ?  The car looks great when shined up but I can see small scratches and swirls in the paint.  Do I use the SK with the polish? Ive looked at a few videos but I see they are for paint correction.  Do I use the SK on certain parts of the car then lay another coat of CC?  Just very confused as to what my next step is with this expensive gift. Ive read the writeups in the Adams forum about polishing but still confused.

Any guidance advice or directions are extremely appreciated ahead of time!

  3. It is daunting especially if it’s a large vehicle. Like a Yukon or big truck.  I’m new to this also but been around these forums for the last year and I have gotten my Camaro looking real nice and ended up putting a ceramic coat on it myself.  When the wife bought her yukon it became a two person detail and that Yukon took us 13 hours over two days to finish with a ceramic coating.

your steps look good to me except I would strip wash to start - I know a lot of,people say it really doesn’t make a difference but it did with the wife’s Yukon. Her car had 6 miles on it and whatever was on the paint or the dealership did to it was awful.

here is the routine we just used after getting great advice here on the forum

    foam wash

    strip wash

    iron remover

clay while wet with detail spray

    towel dry

    revive

    vrt to trim

    prep

    ceramic coat

Of course you would go from the prep to a glaze then the sealant.

Its been mentioned on here many times to go BG before wax or sealant but I’ve seen both ways. PS then the BG then the Americana.

Good luck whatever ever you do and post some pics. What kind of vehicle is it?

The Yukon looks good! I think you will be ok. You did use the coating prep so that may have removed some of the sealant. Worse case is the coating doesn't last as long. I would use the Ceramic Boost at least once a month to add some longevity to the coating.

Thats encouraging. Thanks. I know I see don’t use BG but it really shined it up after everything. Including the CB

  5. Ok let me first start by saying that if you detail cars for a living - you are a friggin bad *** person!!!  GOOD LAWD!!

So i started on friday night to detail the new Yukon.  When I layed a ceramic coating on the camaro it took me about 8 hours and that was without a SK.  All by hand.  Nontheless I set out on a friday night in the hot NOLA weather.  It was 5:30 and heat index of 105 but I was in the shade.  Did the following friday night

Foam Wash - (unnecessary I know)

    Strip Wash

    Iron remover

    Clay while wet (holy crap)

    Towel dried

Done for the night - took a little over 3  hours

Next day I wanted to get up and get it done before the heat of the day so I was up at 6 and started at 7am

    Revive polish (by hand)

    Paint sealant

VRT to trim (half assed this step)

    Coating prep

    Ceramic Liquid Coating

I was done at 2:30.  7.5 plus the 4 hours from friday night.  GOOD GAWD!!! Heat index was at 107 by then.  I was under shade though.  The CC was sticking at certain points but nothing the BG didnt get out.

Next day - the wife layed the CB on the Yukon

Then later in the day I hit it with some BG which made it pop to no end.  (Picture is before the BG)

Needless to say - every part of my body is sore.  Keep in mind I am 55 years old and I run and workout every day but doing this yukon put me on my ***!!  I was in the rack by 8pm that night.

Yukon looks good and glad we got it coated but I may pay a professional next time for this mastodon of a vehicle.  Meanwhile the camaro is begging for a wipe down!!

Thanks all for the great advice and once again to all you MASTER DETAILERS out there - I bow before you!! You are all better people than me!!!

I gotta get that SK man - I have to.

Here's a pic of the yukon - pic doesn't do it justice.

Alright, so if I have this right, brilliant glaze,  paint sealant, and reup with h20 guard and gloss, and claybar. Then every 6ish months do a new layer of brilliant glaze topped off with paint sealant. Sounds like a killer plan, thank you

Edit:of course claybar before the first brilliant glaze and paint sealant I'm guessing.

Hmmmmm I’ve never used the PS on my Camaro. The BG and h20GG WORK SO GOOD and give it such a pop it’s amazing. I have since sealed the car with liquid ceramic wax and now just use use CB usually after hitting it with a WW and then the CB.

just bought a new black Yukon and getting ready this weekend to detail it but kinda confused as to what to do. I may use the PS and go from there.

‘’Anyone have advice for detailing a brand new vehicle black at that?  Not to mention the dealership did an absolutely horrible job detailing at delivery.  Should I strip wash first and clay a new vehicle?

I'm confused so did you ceramic coat it, or use ceramic wax.  I think these are both different products and the steps or area they are used might be different.  If it's like a wax I would say the same steps as using any other wax.  But if you did the whole ceramic kit, that is a whole different ball game.

I did the 9h ceramic kit.

  8. First - I want to thank everyone who took time out to answer my questions.  THANKS!!

I coated the car two weeks ago - took my over 6 hours to completely finish.  The only step I did not do was the strip wash at the beginning as my strip wash was backordered.  SO I went to autozone and picked up a Meguire's product to strip.  NOT GOOD.  Anyway, did the whole routine, iron remover,  the clay,  the prep, the polish and finally the ceramic coating.  I was beat by the time the sun went down but I must say I enjoyed it.  I think a polisher is in my future for sure.

So the car looks great from afar but under my garage lights the other day - good gawd - I saw all the scratches on the hood.  That was depressing.  Nonetheless the coating is done and I hit  it  with the ceramic boost the next day and it really looks good - once again from a far.  Already have people saying wow your car is amazing.  So my next question is - now Ive got to wait a few months with this coating before I strip again and coat again?  I really want to get all the scratches out this time with a polisher.  Took some pics after a rainfall.  I hit the car with a waterless wash after the last rain we had and looked good.  Going to hit again with the ceramic boost - how often do you use the CBDS?  Havent GGd it yet but Im thinking of that this weekend.

Just purchased the ceramic paste wax - is this something I should put on now over the ceramic coating?

A few pics below - once again thanks to all who responded.

  9. Well - Im disappointed.  Got my Adams Mystery buckets today along with the other items I ordered but the STRIP WASH is on backorder!!! WTF!!  Why don't they tell you that on the website when you order? Oh well - I guess I will have to wait.  May just go shopping for some strip wash.

You can't just do this process and skip the strip wash can you?  Just use the regular Adams car wash?

Thanks for the  VRT tip! and what do you mean remove all the polish?  Is that just done using a MF towel or is there another method?

Im 55 - a couple of adult beverages won't be good for anyone around me! lol

  10. Thanks for the great advice people!

forgot about the polish. Good thing I have a bottle of polish I got from one of my many many mystery boxes/buckets!  It’s the one step polish though so I will just go with that.

    so.........

    strip wash

    iron remover

    clay

    one step polish

    ceramic wax kit

    ceramic boost 24 hours later

    BG

  11. So I’ve been using Adams products for a year on my smoking hot 2017 Camaro. It looks great. I’ve used the Americana wax, patriot wax, BG, buttery wax, h2o gg, detail spray and ceramic boost. I constantly use waterless wash between washes.  Car looks awesome I get compliments all the time. So I purchased the ceramic wax kit last week to step up my game but have been hesitant to use it .  I’m waiting on my strip wash and clay kit to come in tomorrow. I’ve never stripped the car since I’ve owned it and my question is to the process of what I should do.

    this is what I plan

    strip wash with foam gun

    iron remover

    clay

    ceramic wax kit

    ceramic boost

Do I bother with BG or buttery in the process? Or add them at the end in which order?  Also, once you put ceramic wax on the car do you still use Americana or patriot wax now and then?

so confused. Any help and guidance would be great. I’ve got a garage full of products and it’s like I want to put everyone of them on the car.

then what?  Do I still use GG and DS or CB or WW

  12. Hello from New Orleans. I'm looking for tips on detailing my red 2016 Camaro ss. I've been using the waterless wash which makes the car look great and I've just received my brilliant glaze and amerciana wax kit. So I'm looking for advice on how to apply this. I've watched the videos but my question is should I just clean with the waterless wash then use the glaze and wax combo? I have no idea what clay is or some of the other terms here. Just don't want to mess the car shine up.

Thanks for any advice ahead of time!
