  1. I know this is a bit taboo in these parts but I find Junkman's glass cleaning tutorial is fantastic. Cut with one towel {competing product name removed}. However, Adam's glass cleaning towels seem to be cut from the same cloth [+1 for the pun] with long nap on one side, short on the other. Polish/Buff with the second towel. The glass master pro helps in my BRZ so much with the tight angles of the glass.

  2. the sidekick is not really intended to dry the whole car. It really to get the water out of the nooks and crannyz. But....if u work it right u can dry most of the car it just takes a little more time. I use a sweeping action similar to what u would use to wash the dirt off your driveway using a hose . I kinda watch the drops and push them off the car rather than trying to dry them up. I never use even a 1/4 bottle of spray to clean up the remaining spots . I little technique will go a long way .

As for the pad, I don't use em nd from reading about these micros swirls I never will . I don't care if it the bottom of the car or not ,nothing that scratches my finish in any capacity will touch my car. I have a nice Chanelle Mitt I'm happy with anyway .

    Very helpful info!

  3. AJ is not an employee or spokesman for Adams. That being said, it does behoove one to add his videos to ones list of things to watch ;-)

I use the MB exclusively to dry my cars. Never had a problem. Are you using the pooling rinse to reduce the amount of water on the car?

Yes I've used the pooling or sheeting method but probably could use more practice. I just felt that the Sidekick was pushing the water around but as it would push it around, the heated air would cause it to dry and it was being pushed around/away from the car, leaving water spots and causing me to have to basically use a half bottle of detail spray on my little BRZ to remove said water marks. As for AJ, I'm aware he is no employee or spokesman for Adam's but as an avid viewer of his videos, it was very clear what wash media he was using and from where and there have been more than one account of micro scratches/swirls from the said wash pads. I had no problem using them for my first detail seeing as I just bought a Swirl Killer MB to remove all swirls from my paint but surely bought the wash mitt and will buy more knobby mitts as well to avoid micro swirls that can be caused from the wash pads Adam's is selling. Now, if you or anyone from Adam's want to specify how and what has changed from the Adam's wash pads in AJ's videos from then until now to fix or rectify the micro swirl mark issues that not just AJ but many others have also said they've experienced, I am all ears!

  4. The J word lol?!?! what's wrong with the J man 2000? Also, @goheels and any other, can you tell me your method for drying with the MB? I tried this last week and all it did was push water around while the hot air only sped up the drying process thus leaving many water spots I had to hit with detail spray to get rid of

  5. So would this be softer than the wash pad or swirl less? Can't tell if my wash pads swirl or not since my paint is so swirled already from brand new.

Junkman has said the wash pads cause microswirls. He suggested Microfiber Chaniele wash mitts. I ordered one of the Adam's wash mitts as well. If I were you if you're dead set on getting a wash mitt similar to the Adam's one that just sold out of, look towards Meguiar's as they have one that looks very similar

  6. Hey Jordan, I live in the city of Anaheim on the east side, nice to meet you!

I'm still jealous about the buckets haha

hahaha would love to meet up some time. I actually frequent OC all the time for a weekly meet and my girlfriend lives in Santa Ana. I live in Whittier. Sorry about the buckets haha! I want the blue buckets!

  7. Welcome to the forum Jordan! There's something about the BRZ/FT86...I really like everything about these cars, and I love the color on yours (blue is my favorite color on cars)!

That's an awesome collection too, and we truly appreciate your support and business! Be careful leaning the SideKick and the white plastic bags up against the front bumper though, that could be an easy way to put some small unwanted scratches there ;)

Hey Dan! Thank you for the compliment! Blue is my favorite as well. After owning all reds before (96 BB1 Prelude, 2013 Scion tC RS 8.0) I thought it was time to go blue finally and wanted something different than the usual World Rally Blue Subaru is known for so I elected for the exclusive Series.Hyperblue. 1 of 500. Thank you for the advice! I was pretty careful but wanted to get a sweet picture of it all. Good thing I have the front bumper clear bra'd for the time being. I am going to dive into the products tomorrow and before even started I am addicted. I want one of the SKP kits and the ceramic coating :( You guys and gals over at Adam's are abusive to my wallet's health.

  8. Welcome to the big boys club, where in cali are you? I'm jealous you have a flag bucket and I don't have one of the!

Hey Joe. Thank you! I was honestly hoping to get flag buckets and got lucky enough to get them. I am Southern California (suburbs outside of Los Angeles County. How about yourself? Where in Orange County?

  9. Welcome!  Thats quite the first order you've got there.  Get ready for your newest addiction.

Thank you so much. It's a full blown addiction, I desperately want a polisher now and was really hoping to have won the SKP over the last weekend

  10. Hello,

My name is Jordan, I'm 24 and drive a 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.Hyperblue. I've nicknamed it BRZ3N and I am after a true OEM+ build. I am on FT86Club and have a build thread there. Nonetheless, I have absolutely zero detailing experience personally but after seeking a higher level of car care than what I had been receiving elsewhere I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I have been watching Junkman2000 and Adam's videos extensively (even to the point of taking notes to remember). Nonetheless, I have been taking as good of care of BRZ3N as I could and just got my first order in today. Let the journey to self provided care begin!post-15226-0-51708800-1479951529_thumb.jpgpost-15226-0-10530200-1479951541_thumb.jpg

  11. Numerous negative posts in this thread have been hidden until they can be reviewed with Adam.

The negativity and criticizing are detracting from the purpose of this thread, which is to get questions answered about this new polisher.

The fact that it is made in China was stated in the first post, and on the product page.  This was made clear right from the start, so that if this does not fit your viewpoint, then you can choose not to purchase it.

Okay may I ask, in regards to this polisher, what would separate this polisher from other's. I am not trying to bring other competitors into the topic for the sake of just doing it but as someone who is a complete novice to machine polishes. Looking at the similar price range what would separate this from say, the GG6, the MT300, or the PC7424XP? They all seem relatively the same to me. Hoping to hear from Dan, Adam, or Wolf. BTW....just got my first Adam's shipment........OOOOO MUCH EXCITE

  12. I would love to justify the expense but just dropped so much on everything else at Adam's I cant truly afford it yet. I would like one though. Honestly my biggest hangup and worry is the warranty for those (possibly myself) buying the Swirl Killer. As I said previously saying you'll warranty it for 1 year coming from a company toting great customer service and the 110% line. It doesn't inspire confidence that they believe in the Swirl Killer enough to guarantee they'll cover it. It hurts more when something like the Griot's is a lifetime warranty.

  13. Wow very fair and well put thank you for your input. I certainly have no blinders on because I have yet to even use an Adam's product yet. However I literally just put a big investment into this company for almost the exact same reasons you outlined when you started. I can live somewhat with the made in China SKP deal now. It's not ideal but I can't be too critical when I live with many things not made in America. My bigger issue is 1 year warranty doesn't outwardly seem like Adam's is too confident in this product's durability and even more the often mentioned "110%". Obviously, 110% is only as good as a warranty can be held accountable. It feels like once that 365 day period is over, Adam's can by all means drop liability and support. That's not to say they will as their customer service is praised all over. However, on day 387, or day 999, I would like to hear we'll take care of you not, well, I'll tell you what, we'll cut you 50% discount on another one or something of that nature. I will say however, as someone who has never machine polished but is looking to start this product strikes me as very very strategically placed in the market. It doesn't seem to want to compete with the bigger dogs Cyclo, Rupes Bigfoot, at the same time it seems to be a step above the Griot's 6 inch and PC7424XP. Moreover, as someone who's been watching Junkman2000 and reading tons, I see so many people suggest the PC7424XP. Yet at the same time, I see many people selling them in what seems to say, I've outgrown this one and am now in need of a step up. I don't plan on detailing many more cars than just my own but at the same time don't want to find myself saying I want more from my polisher after just spending to get set up if that makes sense. I don't personally think I will ever make the jump to the A class polishers such as the Cyclo or Rupes but just my limited opinion. Thus, it puts the Swirl Killer in a class of it's own devoid of true competition and comparisons, perhaps making it seem more desirable.
