  1. Here’s a few pics. I think it looks pretty good. This is just a Wash, Clay, LPS and H2O G&G. No paint correcting. Don't mind the rock ships/paint flaws in the one shot.
  2. What colors are your Wrangler and MDX? I'm also curious about Ceramic Boost as a stand alone product in combination with LPS and a replacement for H2O G&G for certain applications like wheels. May start a separate thread for it.
  3. Ok, I'm addicted! (It's a great idea to fall for it) Second order placed for Car wash kit, gallon of Detail Spray and Trim and Tire kit. Drove my truck in the rain yesterday and above 30-40 MPH you definitely don't need window wipers with the H2O G&G on the windshield. The truck stayed very clean despite usually get dirty by driving through rain because everything simply flew off of it unless it landed in a tight nook or cranny (Which of course happens). Bought proper washing stuff to keep her clean all winter. Detail Spray, well, what is there not to love. I figured on buying some Eco All Purpose Cleaner from Adam's but for another few bucks threw in the VRT and Blocks to make it the "Trim and Tire kit". Going to be great for maintaining my black trim, floor mats, and more.
  4. Yeah I did the whole truck at once so by the time I had gone around it it had definitely been 10 minutes when I started to wipe. Again I put it on pretty heavy on certain panels and also as mentioned it was 95-100% humidity out. No fault to Adam's products. If I had ordered a few more towels I'd have gotten it off a lot faster. (Ordering more soon).
  5. Thanks And yeah I rinsed it after washing and started claying it while it was soaking wet still.
  6. So I bought a few Adams products to get the daily ready for the winter months and I'm very happy with the results. First, Strip Wash: Worked great, seemed to take any of my old wax and detail sprays off the truck. All the sealant products applied very smoothly so definitely would say it worked. Second, Visco clay with Detail Spray: Worked absolutely awesome. My truck's paint felt pretty smooth, surprisingly, and there wasn't that much on the clay bar. But after I was done, the paint felt like waxed glass, and I hadn't even added any product yet. I wish you got a little more clay for $20 (just for the clay reload) but it is supposed to last a while. Other negative was I used a good 3/4 of my Detail Spray (Crew cab, 6' bed truck). Took off some over spray I had on the windshield and a front wheel. Third, Liquid Paint Sealant: It applied very easily to my paint, chrome, and glass. It was about 55 degrees while I was sealing it and I had the truck inside. I must say, it was an absolute nightmare to remove but I'm blaming that on 95-100% humidity due to consistent rains for the last few days. I had to flip the towel every swipe, ended up using a Double and 2 Singles to get all the sealant off and had to rub quite feverishly. My triceps and forearms took a beating. Other than being tough to remove due to Humidity, it was a great process. Went on very easily, leaves the finish very smooth and decently glossy. I have 10" wide wheels with -24 mm off offset so they have a pretty wide lip to the wheel and I sealed that too, hopefully that keeps them in good condition through the winter (No salt etching). Fourth, H2O Guard and Gloss: Again, very simple to apply via the dry method. The borderless gray towels are very soft and did a great job of laying down the H2O and buffing it off. No issues here. It added a great amount of slickness to the surface as well as making the paint look even more glossy. I wouldn't need any more aesthetics than H2O GG can provide on a white daily truck. I applied it to a door panel while it was raining yesterday and the water "runs" away from the spray just like it does in the videos. I drove it through rain earlier today before I did the full detail and it was night and day difference in how the rain flew off the panel/window vs the basic Meguiars Cleaner wax I had on the other door. I think next on the list is some regular Adam's Shampoo and washpads as well as some more Detail Spray and H2O G&G. Also looking at Glass Cleaner and Sealant. Next summer I'll be going in for some paint correction products as well as Americana Wax and Brilliant Glaze. Definitely already addicted to Adam's products. Can add some pictures of the truck once I get some good ones.
  7. Doh! Just got done LPSing every painted/glass/chrome area of my truck, topped it with H2O G&G. Came out absolutely beautiful, paint looks like you could swim in it. Dumping a bit of water on it results in a waterfall.
  8. Some "expert detailer" in the YouTube comments of an Adam's video on Waxes. Thanks for the info.
  9. Question 1: Is forking out another few bucks for a separate Glass kit worth it or will LPS, which I already have, all you really need for glass on the daily? Question 2: What product will shed/repel rain and eventually snow/slush off the paint the best? In other words, is the H2O G&G on top of the LPS good or should I add a coat of Americana/Buttery Wax every month or so to get that crazy bead/sheeting?
  10. I just read that it's a bad idea to put brilliant glaze over your liquid paint sealant because it can compromise and wear down/wipe off your paint sealant. Is this true?
  11. I would put down your Brilliant Glaze, which is pretty much just a "Shine" product with no serious protectional qualities, and then put a layer of wax over that. If you have Americana or Patriot wax that's more resilient than Buttery, I'd use use one of those, but if you just have Buttery then still; Glaze then Buttery Wax (You can do 2 layers of Buttery if you want a little extra protection). Do you have your paint sealed? Are you using a coat of H2O G&G at all? Both of them are much tougher and longer lasting than glazes and waxes which are more of a finishing touch product.
  12. Welcome Dave. Your plan and current supply list is great. I would switch the order of Buttery Wax and H2O G&G, simply because G&G on its own can last a few months (Indefinitely when re-applied every few washes), but your buttery wax will only last a few weeks or so on a daily driver (I'd say at least), so once your wax burns off then so will your H2O G&G with it. If you're using the Buttery Wax before the H2O for a shine and luster enhancer and hoping to lock it in with the H2O then I would axe the Buttery Wax, using it only as a top coat, and then use Brilliant Glaze which has shining properties only, and then go over that with H2O to lock it in. Other more experienced detailers can step in with that. Basically you want your more resilient products as close to the paint as possible. So you'll also want to make sure that the wash you give it before applying LPS (Liquid paint sealant) is a strip wash, getting rid of all old waxes, coatings, sprays, and soap film. Strip Clay LPS H2O Wax Re-Wash when needed, dry with H2O to maintain the sealant. Eventually your paint sealant will die off, say about 5-7 months, then you'll want to Re-strip and re-seal etc. Good luck and have fun.
  13. I'd advise opening a thread in the polishing/paint correcting section for better recognition.

Applying "shineon" only gets me 10%. Is the promotion over even though it still has the advertising banner for it at the top of the site?
  15. I agree with you. I have 2 generic 5 gallon buckets as well as a grit guard for one of them with a wash pad that's pretty new. At this point I'm going to try to get my daily as clean as possible with what I have, seal and maintain it what what I ordered. Next spring or over the winter I'll start compiling paint correcting, 2 bucket wash kit, and some other miscellaneous detailing products from Adam's.
  16. If it's sealed or waxed (So it's slippery), would compressed air get rid of most of it?
  17. Seriously had to take a breath after reading through half of your second post, lol! Since your cars are recent, as noted, a wash, clay, and seal may be all you need. If your cars are dark colors and have swirls and they make you nuts, then a paint correction will be in order if you want. I just started looking at Adam's products a few months ago and at first I was pretty overwhelmed by how many products there are to chose from, but over the last few weeks I've gotten pretty much all of them in my head, it'll work the same for you, you'll find out what you need and don't need to accomplish what you're after. (Adam's actually has a very straight forward product line up, unlike a lot of companies that change a scent and a label and call it something else. Adam's only has one thing for one purpose, and they all do their job). Again I don't know the condition of your cars but I'd probably look into: 2 Bucket wash kit ($140 or so) Clay kit Paint Sealant Kit H2O G&G for maintaining the sealant after every couple washes Things you could add are wheel cleaner, tire shine, trim shine, all purpose cleaner, possibly a waterless wash for light touch ups etc.
  18. Hmm brings up a good point. I have a full size pick up I'll be doing next year, you don't think a pad can make it through a whole truck in day?
  19. I had the same on my Sierra, it was a residue that remained even after residue removers and claying. With my few year old truck I thought it was just a gathering of contaminates but since yours is new that probably doesn't make sense. I got mine off by using a drill and relatively aggressive pad and polish. It didn't swirl that bad actually and it did take it off. I'll be buying full paint correction equipment next year and I'll take care of the swirls then.
  20. I'd go for the bag kit myself. The Liquid Paint Sealant and Gray pad is exactly what you'll want after you give it a clay and killer paint correction. The Sealant will protect your work from elements, road gunk, sheet water, etc. The Gray pad is what you use with the LPS (Liquid paint sealant). If you don't have a few Adam's microfibers and go with the Bag-Kit, you may want to add a few double or triple soft towels to it to help remove product when you're done polishing. The Bag kit only has 2 Single Softs, whereas the Non-Bag Kit has a few Singles and a few Doubles. Last thing you want to do is replace swirling/fine scratches with old/low quality microfibers. Welcome, btw.
  21. I definitely know I haven't ordered enough, LOL. I already have $300 worth of stuff in my cart staring me down haha. - Yeah I figured the "damage was done" sort of speak from the tunnel washing, which is why I don't know about picking up the 2 bucket wash system before I correct it, but once I order the correction materials and correct it, she'll be hand wash babied. (I'll order the complete 2 bucket wash kit when I order the pads and compounds) - I'm probably going to use a solution of isopropyl alcohol to wipe down the truck this time but my next order coming up will include some more stuff. - Yeah I got the impression that Waterless/Rinseless is for light stuff which I'm fine with. I definitely will not be using it to try and wipe off anything past dust, fingerprints, and bird droppings. I currently use something along the lines of a detail spray to do that but figured the Waterless/Rinseless would be a little safer and why not add some more Adam's bottles to the arsenal.
  22. Wow, you've been very thorough. As a dealer, it is likely that the car has already been built and sat for a long enough period of time that the paint is 100% cured. 60-90 days is all it would need at most. Cars put in show rooms will be washed with commercial soap and likely given a cheap wax anyways so I think Adam's Strip wash will be 100% safe for you. Your purchased list looks good. I wouldn't worry too much about Glazes and even Wax for a daily car unless you want to shine her up, which there's nothing wrong with, just know that it's not necessary. And I'd probably switch the order to #5 Wax and lastly #6 Glaze. Glaze is a very short term color enhancer. It offers probably zero "protection" that wax can. It helps to give your paint a deep luster though, as well as being amazing on glass. Your order is great though, strip washing is going to be 100% safe for you. Again it's not like you're cleaning your car with acid. It's just a bit more aggressive to take off previous coatings of wax, or soap that commercial washing may have left on it. Your clay is for taking off everything else. And then seal it up with LPS and maintain it after washes with H2O G&G. I would look at some Waterless Wash for a way to wipe it down when it's not bad enough to require a bucket wash. Also as for washing, I'm assuming you already have 2 buckets/grit guards/soft wash pads? If not, you may want those because washing with a single bucket/no grit guard and an older wash pad is a sure way to swirl and mar up your car that you painstakingly detailed.
  23. Cool, sounds like a plan guys. Went out and verified I have a PC 7424 last night so a 5" backing plate is all I'll need to use the Adam's 5.5" pads. The paint on the truck is clean but being a daily drive with wider tires it has a bit of a sand paper feel to it. I'm thinking a careful clay job would be a good idea before sealing a bunch of crap onto the paint. As for washing, yeah I've got a few 5 gallon buckets and a grit guard. I have wash mitts too but no where near what Adam's uses I'm sure. Since it's a white truck I'm not going to worry about it too much but I'll probably end up buying the rest of the above listed list before spring. (Addicted already).
