  1. Kim's worried that if/when they see the speakers when they look at the house, they'll be worried about the patch..

I'm fine with patching it up and your suggestion is the perfect way..

From what I've read, the Kef T305 is a pretty damn good set-up..  The only negative I've seen is for music playback, some songs aren't as bassy as some desire, but for movies is perfect

  2. I'm not worried about installing them.. the Wife is worried about when we go to sell the house, the speakers would be coming with us, buyers will likely not be thrilled with a drywall patch that size nor having to get their own speakers to fill the holes..

  3. I think I'm closer to a decision..

I'm looking at a Pioneer Elite and am speaking with an AV place from PA.  Seems like a good deal and they've been very nice so far..

It looks like I'll be making a purchase with them soon.

So glad I seen this thread. I m going to start shoping around for one after the new year and seeing this really helped me narrow down my choices.

I have to admit .. the Pioneer was going to be one of the first ones I look at because my neighbor swears by his.

You might want to go through this place I'm dealing with..

  4. Look at that, my thread helped someone, but what about me? lol I need a hook-up!!! haha

Might as well put that with your Flat Tube TV :lolsmack:

(I have a 32" Sony that weighs 215LBS I can't beg people to take from me)

lol, yeah yeah.. I bet it still sounds great too.. but..

  5. Hmm.. you're right, the Elite AVRs are expensive.

The VSX-70 may be do-able, but is more of their entry level base model.

I wonder if I could use my existing speakers (doubt it) so that I can spread the 'upgrade' over time..

  6. what don't you like about Denon?  I was actually looking at one of their new receivers.

I didn't bother with components when I bought this setup when we still had an apartment, it was a small room.  And I got a great deal on it when I bought it with the TV.

  7. AYE AYE AYE

Last night, the Wife and I were watching a Netflix movie we borrowed from my Dad.  In the last 40 minutes, the receiver was producing sound intermittently.  Then it just stopped completely (well some light sound on the rear speakers).

It's a Samsung BluRay Home Theater in a Box HT-BD3252.

Not sure I want to go with another HTIB.  If we had a different house, I definitely wouldn't be going with another HTIB.  Not sure what we're going to do, but surround sound is a must, lol..

Of course when we purchased this one we bought the extended warranty from Best Buy, which ended this past September..
