  1. I tried a small bottle and I'm hooked. I would be a gallon customer for sure.
  2. ON cleared up that ashtry/HVAC smell nicely on the car I tried it on. I was very impressed.
  3. So I finally got around to doing the interior of my wife's 2003 VW Passat wagon, it has a cloth material that feels a little like suede. This particular material loves to grab hair with its tight weave and not let go. This interior hasn't been detailed in the six years we've owned the car and we have three cats and a dog. There was so much hair both human and pet now essentially woven itself into the fabric. Vacuuming had almost no effect on it. So I figure I'd go try my wife's Scotch -brite lint roller. It too had little effect on removing any hair from the seat. Then I decided to rip off a fresh sheet off the roll and rub it back as forth across and in circles over the fabric. Sure enough this method started releasing hair from the fabric where leaving on the roll failed. This particular product has a nylon type backing to it so it withstood rubbing and pulling. I ripped off another sheet and tried it in other areas like the bottom of cup holders and coin holders. Anywhere dirt and dust collected in tight spaces. Just press a fresh sheet down in there and lift all the crude right out. Also worked great in tight places my vacuum could not reach like between the seat and door. You veteran detailers probably already know all about this but I was blown away how versatile and effective these "sticky sheets" were at lifting out the crud on a neglected interior.
  4. Nice shine on those rides! Welcome!
  5. Welcome Keith, you are certainly in the right place! Enjoy retirement and the new ride! Post some pics.
  6. Welcome. I'm going to pull the trigger on a SK combo myself soon. Would love to hear your experience as a novice like myself.
  7. So bad my wife is about to kill me but I can't help it this stuff is so addicting to use. Let me know if you get that group going....
  8. Welcome. The have some great kits to get you started and excellent videos on how to use everything.
  9. Careful this stuff is addicting!
  10. Wow nice car! Welcome to the forums!
  11. Welcome Jack, I also have a new addiction to Adams and detailing! My wife wants to be mad at the money I'm spending but she can't deny the way the cars look!
  12. The two nozzles that came with my Sidekick are made of two different materials. The tapered nozzle feels more like rubber and stays in the unit without an issue. The fan nozzle is made of a harder material and will not stay on the unit for more than 10-15 seconds before it goes flying off with the force of the air rendering it virtually useless. I'm glad I discovered this before I started using it on my car and damaging my finish. Does anyone else have an issue with the fan nozzle staying on the Sidekick?
  13. In the front where I wash my car I'm on municipal water and the pressure is on the low side. I'll try it again with the purple tip. I do have a well and pump in the backyard with very good water pressure. I didn't think to try it back there to see if it's a water pressure issue. I would be kind of disappointed if that's really the case because I like the concept of foaming the car but it was a lot of extra work and kind of messy to do it the way I did to make it work. And yes I did pour it into my wash bucket but I had already had that prepared to go so I was just adding more unnecessary product to the pail. Well I'm brand new at this and I'll learn and adjust.
  14. I wasn't getting anything like that. I'll try and shoot a quick video this weekend.
  15. On my first time using the premium foam gun I had some issues. I was getting way more water then foam coming out of the gun. I tried with and without the little inserts the gun came with but it really didn't change much. The only way I could get it foamy was to unscrew the canister and blast water into it to get it foamy in the canister. I would have to stop and do that like every 30 seconds. I'm going to play around with it some more to see if I can figure out what I was doing wrong. Is the proper ratio 2 parts water to 1 part soap? Filling the whole canister up seems a waste if you are only foaming one car. Can you start with the gun only 1/3 full?
  16. Yes I did notice it did not add much more shine but I still love the way it feels waxed.
  17. So overall I'm really happy with the way the car came out after my first detail. I had some issues with the foam gun, I was getting way more water then foam coming out of the gun. Also using the WW to pretreat the stains I had was pretty ineffective. I had to use clay to remove the majority of them. I'll know better for next time. I added an extra step before foaming and went out and got a bottle of IR from my local detail shop and it was pretty cool watching my new car cry purple tears of joy as the contamination dissolved away. Best part was was when my wife came out and said the car looked as good as the day we picked it up from the dealer
  18. Thank you Ian. Just finished my first detail and spent even more money when I was done stocking up on gallon refills. My wife is going to freak out, hopefully she will see I'm saving money in the long run.
  19. I found a super crazy deal on these towels on Amazon. They arrived today and look like the real deal in Adams packaging. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DXCVKCQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  20. Thank you all for your input, it is greatly appreciated.
  21. Here is my plan for doing the exterior of my new Acura. It's been on the road three months and been through one wash which didn't get it totally clean. It's my first time detailing a car beyond a traditional sponge and paste wax hack job and that was decades ago. Do I have the order correct? I don't have any polishing products/machines yet. Pretreat stuck on bugs/tar with WW Clean wheels the Eco WC Foam car with CS Wash car with CS Dry car Clay windows and car Dry car with HGG VRT tires BW Seal all exterior glass with GLS Do I hit the car with some DS after the BW or is the unnecessary and/or counterproductive? Do I rewash the car after claying or just rinse and go right to HGG? Should I avoid getting HGG on my glass if I'm going to use GLS? The car has painted pinstripes. Do I avoid going over the pinstripes with the claybar or is OK to clay in the same direction as the pinstripe? Same question for when I get a set of polishers, can I run machines over the pinstripes? I appreciate any input as I'm starting from zero experience beyond watching a bunch of videos. Enjoy the 4th!
  22. Thanks Nick. I basically bought a few kits starting with the essential detail kit and a few other add-ons. I took advantage of the summer sale and the current 4th of July sale. I'll probably hit a fall sale for a nice polishing set up to prep the cars for winter.
  23. Hello everyone, my name is Bill and I'm a video editor by profession. I just got my first new car in 15 years, a white Acura TLX with pinstripes. I was totally unhappy with the way the car looked after my wife took it for it's first cleaning and decided I wasn't going to be happy unless I detailed the car myself. I did some research online and decided to go all in on the Adam's line of products after watching the videos. I only have daily drivers and they both sit outside. I'm in the process of trying to make room to get the Acura in the garage but it's going to be a tight squeeze, particularly in the winter when the snowblower makes it's way back into the garage. Anyway, my wife's not happy with the $700+ I just dropped on this new hobby/addiction (and I didn't buy polishing gear yet yikes!) but I consider an investment as I tend to keep my cars a while. I'm excited to get started and will see you over in the General forum with all my noob questions
