  1. Sadly the g8 is gone now, I do miss it. I have a Ram ecodiesel and a ford focs now. Needed something that can pull a trailer and am driving about 40k miles a year so wanted some fuel efficiency. Hopefully I can get back into a sports car eventually.

I am a fan of the SS, my brother has one of those and I like it.

  2. I had this in my 2012 sierra for about 3 months before I traded the truck in for a different one.

This allows you to plug and play a new stereo into your newer GM vehicle. It retains steering wheel audio controls and warning chimes. It does not keep onstar functional. If installing a navigation system this also provides a tie in to the parking brake and reverse sensor wires. making this unit a true plug and play. I used it with a kenwood DNX-6180 navigation system and total install start to finish was under two hours.

Below is a link to the unit on Pac-Audios website. I am not sure if I still have the instructions but they are on the website.

Pac-Audio.com Product Details | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future

The only difference between the pics on that website and my unit is I clipped the preamp ends off, per the directions because I did not have a factory system with an amplifier.

The only other things you will need to install a new stereo in your car would be mounting kit and antenna adapter. I will send the adapter I had in my truck, but I am not sure if it is used in all GM vehicles.

Any questions feel free to ask. Looking for $100 but am completely open to offers and trades for.....

  3. Let me know how you like it as you get some more rounds through it. I am thinking of picking one up for a coyote gun.

I will say I have a savage 116 in stainless and 7mm mag. I love it, but sometimes wish I had a 243 to go a little easier on the shoulder.

  4. I will say this in all honesty. I bought an extended cab NNBS GMC a couple months ago and am already wishing for more room. I will probably be trading it in for a crew cab by spring. I thought there would be enough room and for 10 minute or less trips there is but the rest of the time unless your passengers are tiny I do not think there is enough room.

  5. Geez, I don't post on here as much as I used to just don't have the time anymore. However Jim you will be missed my friend and I truly have tears in my eyes as I read this thread.

I am always amazed at the great people I have come to know on this forum and Jim was truly one of the greats!

  6. Knipex is quality stuff. They are worth it. Besides I can buy from Germany.

Some of the Craftsman tools are still made in the USA. However They are made by APEX tool group who is currently outsourcing more and more of their production. From what I have seen it is more of a APEX decision saying they cannot afford to build in the USA.

However APEX was just acquired by Bain Capital so we shall see what happens. I bet the offshore trend will continue.

The made in USA tools are completely made in the USA. Our steel mils run in the US with material purchased from the US!

  7. I hear ya Mark .. I do love my G8. My beater is dying and I really don't want to go out and spend a fortune for another beater that has over 100k on it. Work just made my commute from 16 miles to 80. Always stored my G8 in the winter and I never driven it in the rain. So the car is pretty new still.

I got rid of my G8 and have not looked back. I thought I would miss it but so far I have not. Plus I could not do this in the G8. However I never got the G8 that dirty either. I am glad I have a four day weekend to clean her up.

I got back from my yearly deer hunting long weekend. Had a blast and cant wait for next year already.

  8. Sorry I saved this picture years ago and have been waiting for a chance to use it. Not my cup of tea but it does look good.

I have always wondered if the safety of the vehicle is compromised by modifying the doors though.
