  1. Thanks Adam and Dylan for another fun clinic this year. See you next year.
  2. 11 hour drive might be worth it. Get to see Adam and Dylan plus then you can go to Barrett-Jackson for a couple days and get to see all kinds of cool cars.
  3. If you want to wash, polish, and wax the entire car, I'll be glad to let you. I trust you and Adam to do it correctly. I do have a feel fine scratched that I need to fix on the trunk that the dealer installed for me. It got dirty from a storm while it was there having the rear bumper fixed. Looks like they wiped the passenger side of the trunk and fender with a rag while putting the tire back on.
  4. Nice, you guys are up in north Scottsdale this time. Less driving and more sleep time for me this year. Now I just need to figure out how to detail my car on one leg in the next two weeks since it's way over due. Can't show up looking like junk.
  5. If you guys haven't seen it yet, there are some pretty cool pictures here: A Lion Steals My Camera | Facebook I love the first and second pictures in the second row.

    Forza: Horizon

I didn't get it yet. I'll probably grab it once I can drive again. I still need to finish off Forza4. Got a lot of races left in it.
  7. I generally love what I do, writing mac and iOS software. Sometimes I get projects that I don't really like due to a client not knowing what they're doing, but overall I love it. Getting to be creative in a non-traditional way and create new things from scratch from just my mind is some something I enjoy. I will second that you should try to stuff that you love to do. Try to put yourself in a position where you don't dread what your doing. Even within your industry. Money isn't everything. For the last 5 years I've been working either self employed or for a very small (4 person) company. I make a good living right now, but I could make a pretty good deal more if I went to work for a bigger company. So far I've chosen not to since I have a bit of freedom that I wouldn't enjoy at most places. It's worth something to me to get take off when I need to, work from home, have control over the projects, etc.
  8. Black. I also love the dark variation of BRG that Jag used to use at times. It looks black a lot of the time but is a deep, dark green with light on it. Along the lines of:
  9. I'm still partially one. I have a small software company that's now my side work. I had been with it full time for about 4 years. Then got a really good offer to buy a lot of the company's assets so I cashed out. After that I tried partnering with a business guy on a new start-up that ended up failing after about a year. I'm only partially one now because after that start-up busted I went to work for a buddy of mine as employee 2 (3 if you count his wife since he had a big contract come in. That was 14 months ago and we're still going strong. 3 other employees have been added since then and we're looking at maybe adding a couple more on.
  10. Dutch Ovens are great for cooking. I've been using a Lodge 5 qt and just picked up a 7 qt one. I stumbled across it at a Fry's grocery by me. They had it clearance priced for $35 from $80. So I had to buy it. Great deal. Lodge is great quality and made in USA. Over the summer I've been using mine on the Big Green Egg to made a couple different things. Had an awesome Mac & Cheese from it and last weekend made a great pot roast. I can't wait for it to cool down a bit more. Got a beef stew recipe that I really want to try out. Before pict of the pot roast, sorry didn't take one after. Thing was super juicy though. I took out 2 cups of juice with about an hour left for the gravy and it still almost over flowed. Sorry no after pict.
  11. I bought a large BGE back in May and have not regretted it one bit. It's one of the best purchases I've made. Food comes out awesome on it. I've done a couple low and slow cooks with ribs and tri-tips that were great and I use it all the time for grilled chicken breasts and pizza. Everything comes out so juicy and tender with it. It also makes the best baked potatoes ever. They come out so amazing on it that I can even describe it. I've actually been thinking about getting a small or medium one just for potatoes. That way I can do my low and slow cooks on the large then fire up the smaller one for potatoes since they cook at a higher temp. Like Chris I thought of getting the XL but the sales guy talked me down. Was probably a really good move. Large is where it's at unless you really need the extra space. You can also get a 2nd rack on it to get more grill area. Keep the meat on the regular grill and veggies or whatever on the raised grill. I'll also 2nd Chris on the Looflighter recommendation. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. It makes lighting the thing simple. The other thing I'd recommend buying right away is the plate setter. It's for indirect cooking. So you'll want it for any slow cooks like ribs or a brisket. Also if you're going to do pizza (which is awesome brick oven on it) get the BGE pizza stone. There have been lots of issues with other brands cracking on it. The BGE one is really solid and will last. I need to get mine fired up now. My experiment for this week is going to be a low and slow pot roast in my cast iron dutch oven.
  12. Thanks! Is that a 15" MBP? Looks like it. I'm looking for a bag mainly for holding mine along with my iPad, extra iphones, and some misc. stuff like headsets that get used for video conferences. What color is that? I'm guessing burgundy but I'm not 100% sure.
  13. Nick, could you post some pictures of the inside of it?
  14. Need to get you guys on some of the greats. I'm not even going to name it since you're dead to me if you don't already know the song. (And yes, the irony was intended) So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell Blue skies from pain Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? Did they get you to trade Your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in a war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl Year after year Running over the same old ground What have we found? The same old fears Wish you were here
  15. This is really surprising and nothing at all like dealing with North Scottsdale Porsche. I haven't experienced anything but amazing customer service since buying mine 2.5 years ago. Before and after the purchase everyone has always gotten back to me right away when ever I have any need. Their service is one of the reasons I'd stay with Porsche.
  16. The team thing comes into play a little for wins and the CYs since they're tied to a little to the season's record. Ks are definitely individual. I'm not saying Clemens wasn't a great pitcher, just that we need to account for it a little when comparing to other players. A bit of the sad thing with Clemens is that he already had 3 CYs and HOF numbers before PEDs. Bonds was the same way. Both didn't need them to be a HOF player. They probably wouldn't have played as long or had a couple of the things they achieved, but would have still been marked down as one of the best to every play. I used to have the same opinion, but I've softened to it a bit. I look at it as a little bit of an extra honor for and to distinguish the truly great player over the "average" HOFer. A Nolen Ryan vs a Bruce Sutter. Now for years after the first I agree with you. For someone like Andre Dawson there was nothing he did in years 2-9 to change his hall worthiness.
  17. On that list for 2013, none of them. I can see Biggio, Schilling, and Piazza getting in, but not first ballot. And of those I'm still on the fence with Biggio and Schilling. I also wouldn't put Clemens as the greatest pitcher of the generation. I'd go with Pedro or Randy for that. Clemens generally had better teams than either of them and I really think PED was the cause for a bunch of his "greatness". Looking back it feels like he was great young, then started to fall off, got into PEDs, and then started dominating again. It just really feels like from '97 onward it was a bit artificial.
  18. Surprisingly, that's actually not with the MBPR. The upgrade option for 16GB (8GB is standard) is only $200. That's in the ballpark with what 3rd party venders are charging for 2 8GB modules.
  19. I was going to buy a couple Nests for my new house (dual zone) and decided against it after looking deeper into them. Cool concept but still needs some work. Some of the big complaints, other than cost, was the auto learning as has been mentioned here. Thermostats generally aren't installed in a main living area (supposed to be in a spot without direct cooling/heating) so the sensor doesn't get tripped a lot. This was affecting not only the learning, but also causing the heating/cooling to be turned off since it thought no one was home which was causing odd temperature shifts for people. I ended up going with a wifi one that 3M makes. It's the same as this one from Amazon [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YZFU1Q/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=cynicalpeak-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004YZFU1Q]Homewerks Radio Thermostat CT-30-H-K2[/ame]. The one I bought is the same unit 3M branded and sold at Home Depot. The 3M one was slightly cheaper too at $99. It works similar to the Nest in that it's a programable thermostat that has built in wifi so that you can control it from your computer/ipad/iphone remotely. It doesn't contain the auto-learning feature though which doesn't really seem like it works anyway. So from what I found about them, I was able to do both my thermostats for $50 less then it would have been for one Nest and I get the same functionality. One thing to note with either unit that was a bit of a pain for me. They both need the "c" wire in order to be powered for wifi. My house had the classic old round honeywell ones that didn't require the "c" wire. So it was a little bit of a headache getting them running. The thermostat will work without it but you loose the main cool feature of them.
  20. This is a good list. The Crow is definitely the best sound track of all time. I'd swap out John Hughes movies though for Pretty in Pink's soundtrack. Others I'd add to the list: Singles Reality Bites South Park the movie. (Mr. Hanky's Christmas Classics is great too from the TV series).
  21. Play nice guys. Because really, it doesn't matter who wins between the Caps and Rangers. The winner between the Kings and Coyotes will win the cup. The team from the east is only going to be in the finals to serve as a victory lap for the west winner.
  22. Please tell me you're picking Nashville in 5 or 6 for the 2nd round.
  23. I hope it does since you picked Chicago. Yotes are taking that one. At a minimum I'm almost willing to guarantee that you're in 5 prediction won't hold. That series is going 6 or 7 no matter who wins.
