  1. It's the screen that shows up on your computer when you turn it on.

    Good morning Dave.

  2. Thanks guys. That is my son in the top pic, working/ learning on his car. There is hope for him after all:banana:

I hope you polished the back of the wheels while they were off too....:D

Nah, When I stripped off the clearcoat, I painted the barrels a dark gray so I wouldn't HAVE to polish them;)

  3. Yeah I know the later models went to the vented opti, i'm thinking of doing the upgrade when I finally replace the non-vented opti on mine (when I can afford the cam upgrade to go with it!!).

I'd always heard the vented opti had to be kept fairly dry too, nice to know you can get away with a little more than the older version.

At the risk of hijacking my own thread........

The problem with the vented opti's is the vacuum lines. Replace the vent harness every time you replace the cap/rotor and you'll be fine. The harness tends to dryrot from the heat and oil so check often. If they leak, you'll have an opti sensor failure..... which means a $500 replacement part (AC delco is the BEST for these engines, MSD and the cheap Chinese knockoffs have a 55% failure rate within a year...it's the opti sensor itself, not the cap that fails).

What is this engine in? "C", "F", or "B" body? From what I uderstand, at least in the "B" body, is that the conversion isn't plug and play. Something about the bolt pattern is different. Not Sure about the "C" or "F" bodies.

About the cam... I'm waiting on funds to put in a GM 845 and the required 1:6 rocker arms/beehive springs and replace the wore out 4L60e with the all important T-56 6 speed manual trans:burnout::burnout:

  4. Am I the only one that treats glass just like the paint; clay, polish and SMW with the PC, then DS?

This process removes all the waterspots and other nasties from the glass. (not sure how it would work with the newer "plasti-cote" glass though)

  5. V6, You don't! The '94 and up LT1's have the vented opti. Circulates air from the intake through the opti and back out into the manifold. They are sealed pretty good..... if not they would fail every time it rained or the water pump failed..... and I'm on my 4th WP.
