Look at the test section on the upper left - this picture doesn't do justice to the improvement! Quite the crowd! The easiest engine detail ever...a little VRT and.....DONE!!! 2. Hey everyone...it's been a while since I've posted pics in a thread...trying to reacquaint myself with the process....hopefully this is a picture of everyone at dinner:
3. Hi Rich! Short story...I'll try and get them up tomorrow! Long story: I'm still cleaning my car..got home about 5:00 yesterday and the bride wanted to make 5:30 Mass, then out to dinner - it was one of our few "kids-free nights" every year.... Started on the car at about 9:30 this morning, pretty much done with the exterior now about 12:45...gonna take a lunch break, then on to the inside and a drive. I'll download the pics from my camera either tonite or tomorrow and get some posted.... Yet again...what an incredible time meeting everyone...my wife could barely get a word in edgewise at dinner 'cause the event was all I could talk about....then the sangria kicked in and things got worse! You guys know how the cycle goes....Clean...Drive...Clean...Drive...Clean
4. Kinldy allow me to add my thanks to Adam for his generosity - both at dinner and with his time; as well as to my "roomie" Steve, who was also a great source of information. Also many thanks to Ray and all at Grabiak Chevrolet....great job of hosting! I had an incredible time, it was great to meet everyone....and - as I stated before dinner - great to hang out with "kindred spirits" who understand my fear of parking my car next to a minivan!! A special thanks to the officers at the "Sobriety Checkpoint" who, after verifying I was sober and realizing I had become separated from the "caravan" to the hotel; told me to "drive very slowly past the other officers, then do what you need to do to catch up to your group"!!! Looking forward to continuing conversations with many of you!! Hope everyone made it home safe. Best, Al ("ALF01") ADAMS ROCKS!!!!
5. Dinner was incredible.....Adam is "Da Man"!!!! Getting ready for breakfast and the drive over to Grabiak's now...looks like we could not have ordered better weather!!

9. I'm planning on being there! Looking forward to it....may not bring my Vette (300+ miles each way) but I'll be there....looking forward to meeting many of you!
10. At the risk of stirring things up, I would like to make two points in reference to this...both of which I am passionate about. First off - I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with the outrage over the AIG bonuses, and the "rewarding failure" mentality so prevalent on Wall Street and in our financial communities.... However...there is A SECOND ISSUE/PROBLEM....Our elected Politicians.... I am admittedly using a broad brush, and do not want this to be a Democratic or Republican thing....BUT... HOW MANY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS HAVE VOLUNTARILY LOWERED THEIR SALARY TO $1.00/YEAR????? Private jets, taxpayer funded boondoggles to the ends of the world.....their own "pension/retirement plan" while we are left with the remnants of Social Security?? The average Joe has no idea how these folks live, and it's much closer to the "AIG Executive" level than most of us....perhaps if we published their tax returns..... I was e-mailed the following, and find it very relevant: ********************* 545 PEOPLE By Charlie Reese <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red . If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess! Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. ****************************************** Think about it!!!!!

13. The following was e-mailed to me, and I thought it was worth sharing! (Thanks, Adam, for the suggestion!) And heartfelt thanks to all those who serve and protect, both domestically (Fire, Police, etc.) and those who serve in our Armed Forces. God Bless! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CEMETERY ESCORT DUTY <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comI just wanted to get the day over with and go down to Smokey's. Sneaking a look at my watch, I saw the time, 1655. Five minutes to go before the cemetery gates are closed for the day. Full dress was hot in the August sun. Oklahoma summertime was as bad as ever--the heat and humidity at the same level--both too high. I saw the car pull into the drive, '69 or '70 model Cadillac Deville, looked factory-new. It pulled into the parking lot at a snail's pace. An old woman got out so slow I thought she was paralyzed; she had a cane and a sheaf of flowers--about four or five bunches as best I could tell. I couldn't help myself. The thought came unwanted, and left a slightly bitter taste: 'She's going to spend an hour, and for this old soldier, my hip hurts like hell and I'm ready to get out of here right now!' But for this day, my duty was to assist anyone coming in. Kevin would lock the 'In' gate and if I could hurry the old biddy along, we might make it to Smokey's in time. I broke post attention. My hip made gritty noises when I took the first step and the pain went up a notch. I must have made a real military sight: middle-aged man with a small pot gut and half a limp, in marine full-dress uniform, which had lost its razor crease about thirty minutes after I began the watch at the cemetery. I stopped in front of her, halfway up the walk. She looked up at me with an old woman's squint. 'Ma'am,may I assist you in any way?' She took long enough to answer. 'Yes, son. Can you carry these flowers? I seem to be moving a tad slow these days.' 'My pleasure, ma'am.' Well, it wasn't too much of a lie. She looked again. 'Marine, where were you stationed?' ' Vietnam, ma'am. Ground-pounder. '69 to '71.' She looked at me closer. 'Wounded in action, I see. Well done, Marine. I'll be as quick as I can.' I lied a little bigger: 'No hurry, ma'am.' She smiled and winked at me. 'Son, I'm 85-years-old and I can tell a lie from a long way off. Let's get this done. Might be the last time I can do this. My name's Joanne Wieserman, and I've a few Marines I'd like to see one more time.' 'Yes, ma 'am. At your service. She headed for the World War I section, stopping at a stone. She picked one of the flowers out of my arm and laid it on top of the stone. She murmured something I couldn't quite make out. The name on the marble was Donald S. Davidson, USMC: France 1918. She turned away and made a straight line for the World War II section, stopping at one stone. I saw a tear slowly tracking its way down her cheek. She put a bunch on a stone; the name was Stephen X. Davidson, USMC, 1943. She went up the row a ways and laid another bunch on a stone, Stanley J. Wieserman, USMC, 1944. She paused for a second. 'Two more, son, and we'll be done' I almost didn't say anything, but, 'Yes, ma'am. Take your time.' She looked confused. 'Where's the Vietnam section, son? I seem to have lost my way.' I pointed with my chin. 'That way, ma'am.' 'Oh!' she chuckled quietly. Son, me and old age ain't too friendly.' She headed down the walk I'd pointed at. She stopped at a couple of stones before she found the ones she wanted. She placed a bunch on Larry Wieserman, USMC, 1968, and the last on Darrel Wieserman, USMC, 1970. She stood there and murmured a few words I still couldn't make out. 'OK, son, I'm finished. Get me back to my car and you can go home.' Yes, ma'am. If I may ask, were those your kinfolk?' She paused. 'Yes, Donald Davidson was my father, Stephen was my uncle, Stanley was my husband, Larry and Darrel were our sons. All killed in action, all marines ..' She stopped. Whether she had finished, or couldn't finish, I don't know. She made her way to her car, slowly and painfully. I waited for a polite distance to come between us and then double-timed it over to Kevin, waiting by the car. 'Get to the 'Out' gate quick. I have something I've got to do. Kevin started to say something, but saw the look I gave him. He broke the rules to get us there down the service road. We beat her. She hadn't made it around the rotunda yet. 'Kevin, stand at attention next to the gatepost. Follow my lead.' I humped it across the drive to the other post. When the Cadillac came puttering around from the hedges and began the short straight traverse to the gate, I called in my best gunny's voice: 'TehenHut! Present Haaaarms!' I have to hand it to Kevin; he never blinked an eye--full dress attention and a salute that would make his DI proud. She drove through that gate with two old worn-out soldiers giving her a send-off she deserved, for service rendered to her country, and for knowing duty, honor and sacrifice. I am not sure, but I think I saw a salute returned from that Cadillac. Instead of 'The End,' just think of 'Taps.' As a final thought on my part, let me share a favorite prayer: 'Lord, keep our servicemen and women safe, whether they serve at home or overseas. Hold them in your loving hands and protect them as they protect us.' Let's all keep those currently serving and those who have gone before in our thoughts. They are the reason for the many freedoms we enjoy. 'In God We Trust.' Sorry about your monitor; it made mine blurry too! If we ever forget that we're one na tion under God, then we will be a nation gone under! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
14. I've been at a few of these over the years...unlikely it will go 5 hours.... Adam typically does his "soup-to-nuts" demo on a car badly in need of some attention, which can take up to a couple of hours depending on audience questions, and then spends some time on audience member's cars addressing specific issues....so usually 3 hours give or take, but I guess it could go 5 if a large turnout with lots of questions...
15. I'll see if the budget will allow me to drive out there on Friday for the clinic! Lots to discuss!! Dinner would be a blast!
16. Great video Adam.....I love the fact that I learn more tricks from each successive video!
17. Agreed...they are C6 "style", but fitment for a C5 and actually on a C5, so C5 flags are appropriate! Looks awesome! Congrats!!
18. Welcome from another PA guy!!
