  1. Wow! Can't believe the contamination picked up on the clay. This car was never detailed till now. The clay was black after just the hood section. Not keen on the Visco Clay Bar. Yes it works great, but I can't get a consistent impression in the clay. Perhaps a softer clay would work better? The car has cheap glossy stripes, Im going to replace next spring. I Clayed those too with awesome results. Having good therapy with Adam's products!
  2. Last evening I prepped my new/used 2014 Mustang GT with strip wash and tire and rubber cleaner and wheel cleaner. All products I have not used until yesterday. Am I surprised with the results? Nope. The strip wash super slick and lubricating. The tire wash blew me away. My new tires "looked" clean, but we're filthy. The cleaner made them blacker than black. Wheels now spotless. This morning I'll start the clay process with Adams new Visco clay. This afternoon VRT the trim and fine machine polish (it's a southern car) and very little micro swirls). I'll of course do a test section first. I'm super excited! Haven't detailed since I sold my '11 Mustang two years ago. Thanks Adam!!
  3. A shower squeegee works great, believe it or not.
  4. I don't know about the newest Mustangs, but prior to '15 Mustangs has the cheap hard plastic door liners. I had issues with anything used except Adams leather cleaner. The Leather conditioner would smudge when touched. I also had problems with it on the leather, smudging and blotchy. On my '11 Mustang, I could never get good results with any product other than leather cleaner. Also, the white stitching on the leather became dirty and impossible to clean even with APC. Anyone else having these issues with Mustang interiors? Any suggestions? I even tried diluted APC and then reapplication. Also, as much love as I gave the leather, it cracked under warranty and was replaced. I want my '14 Stang to be done right.
  5. Wow, thanks for the warm welcome! I just replenished my Adams supplies and anxious to do a strip wash and full correction and detail for the Mustang. My last Mustang never saw any other products than Adams. It was new and it stayed new even through Michigan winters thanks to Adams products. This Stang I have now is not new and has seen automatic car washes. Oh, the horror! It's white, so it doesn't show the swirls, but they are certainly there. The only serious flaw finish wise is the stripes (aftermarket). They are scuffed and spotted. I'll probably replace them next spring. But I'm going to see if I can give them some love with Adams FMP, glaze and VRT. I bought the rubber cleaner and wash n wax, but a little worried about them affecting or harming my aluminum wheels, paint and stripes. I have contacted the crew at Adams, but it's Saturday. I'll probably hear back Monday. Honestly, the products I had for the '11 Mustang were superb, so these new products should also be superb. If not, 110 percent guarantee. How can anyone go wrong!
  6. I'm replacing the black top stripes on my white Mustang with either grabber blue or black. If I go blue they will be satin finish, black will be flat black. I'm worried about how to clean them and will Detail Spray harm flat black striping? Can I use wash n wax on flat black stripes? If I go with satin gloss stripes I'm less concerned. Thanks!
  7. Back in the Adams Family. Anyone remember that wacky 60's show? I joined in 2011 after buying a new Mustang, grabber blue. Adams products kept it pristine until 2014, when I traded her in for an Escape (embarrassing). All that vehicle has seen is automatic car washes. I fractured my foot badly, unable to shift, so the 11 Mustang had to go. My Boykin Spaniel loves the Escape, so I'm keeping it for him and for winter. Anyways, I just picked up a 14 Mustang GT, in white with black top stripes from Tuscaloosa AL. It's getting a twister decal needless to say. As soon as I get my products, I'll dive in. Happy to be back.
  8. Just heard from Ford. It's covered! Replacing it next week. And no, it wasn't damaged by the lumber hauling. It was the front seat backrest side bolster that cracked. Now for my question of the day for Dylan or other Adam'sholics. I use the Leather Cleaner and Conditioner, followed by the Leather Conditioner every 4 months or so. I'm worried I didn't apply the conditioner correctly or often enough. Should I let the product "soak-in" and then buff with microfiber or do I apply a couple thin coats of conditioner? What's the overall consensus? Also, is this stuff good to use on the vinyl seat materials (backs and headrests). Sorry...just watched the interior video. I'm good.
  9. I found just the ticket from LeatherSeats.com Black Leather with Grabber Blue inserts and grabber blue stitching. What the heck, may has well try my hand at reupholstering!
  10. I just did a full detail on my '11 Grabber Blue Mustang and she looks like a showcar again after hauling redi-mix, lumber and plant materials this spring. Man it was beyond trashed! Started with a strip wash using a couple ounces of APC and Adams Car Shampoo, stripped all the exterior plastic trim and tires with APC, cleaned wheels with the green wheel cleaner and Adams fine assortment of brushes. I clayed the car ("not forgetting the glass") with Adam's clay, using a whole bottle of Detail Spray (the paint was rougher than a night in jail to quote Adam). Man I love his clay! Not one marr anywhere! I then proceeded with FMP and I glazed all the glass with Adam's Glaze. Finally I used the Adam's Machine Super Sealant applied with grey pad. I love this stuff! I glazed the whole car in less than an hour. It wears like iron and leaves a brilliant wet shine. I then applied the VRC to all rubber and plastic trim. OUTSTANDING results! Now for the downer. As I was cleaning and dressing the interior, my heart sank. I discovered some cracking and a dime sized chunk of leather or vinyl missing off my seat bolster. Do I patch it with one of these interior patch kits? Replace? Anyone know a good interior fixer-upper place? I'm just preparing for the worst. Hopefully it's covered under warranty. I've never had interior problems like this after 25K miles on a car.
  11. Sorry for the delay! I used Adams hand applicators...color coded to match the product. I started with waterless wash. I've been skeptical about using this product on a dirty finish, but I'm here to tell you, my car wasn't washed for weeks and the WW did NO finish damage in spite of the car being filthy. Next I used Revive which is a paint cleaner. It cleaned the paint enough to pull out my go to product FMP. If I had my Porter Cable, it would have worked, but I was doing this by hand. So I reached for the orange hand app. pad and SHR followed by FMP on a blue app. pad. S H O C K I N G results! It is going to rain all this week so I held off on the detail. I'm going to do a before and after photo shoot. I'm not making this stuff up!
  12. I've been off the forum for a while, but thought I'd check in. My '11 grabber blue Mustang is an absolute emberassment. I'm building a fence, hauling redimix and lumber and landscape materials.. my hot ride is now more like a construction truck. Argh!!! Anywho, I noticed a big bird poop splatter on my hood through the filthy grime. I whipped out my waterless wash, followed by Revive, SHR and FMP using my hand applicators. Oh my! Under the grime and poop was my grabber blue showcar finish! I knew Adam's products were superb, but this result is shocking! My car gets a full detail this weekend! Thanks Adam's!
  13. OK, first off I don't mod my cars, so I'm really a MODNEWB, so go easy my Adam's peeps. I just bought a fog light kit for my '11 Mustang (the lower ones) and now I'm scratching my head wondering how I'm going to access the back of the lower front fascia to work on this. The car is so low I don't think I can use ramps or do they make ramps for these low clearance rides. Thanks.
  14. I've never had one issue with marring, using Adam's Clay and Detail Spray. Granted, I go through a whole spray bottle of Detail Spray when I clay my car. I HAVE had issues in the past with other brands, before coming over to Adam's. My car has only seen Adam's products since I picked her up from the dealer, fresh from the factory. I'll do a complete Fine MAchine Polish next spring. But it looks like the Machine Wax Sealant is doing it's job protecting my paint. Not one single swirl or hologram. HUGS to all the fine folks at Adam's.
  15. I wasn't so lucky. A carload of young studs parked so close to my car, they were almost touching. As I returned to my car, they were all laughing in hysterics as they entered the Home Depot. I knew it was them, but didn't file a complaint as I saw no damage. During my next full detail I noticed a nice 6" key slash. Good work guys. If I would have caught them, I don't know if I could have held back kicking their young butts. Probably a good thing for everyone involved. Anyways, I recently hit a deer and the guys at the body shop fixed my keyed area as part of the fix. Looks great. I wasn't able to polish it out. So, sometimes, bad things have happy endings.
  16. Just got my Mustang back from the body shop. Hit a deer and took out one headlight and a dented fender. The guy did an awesome job! So, today the weather broke and I thought I'd detail the beauty, you know the whole 9 yards, strip wash, clay, polish and sealant. After the wash, I clayed with Adams grey clay and said, hmmmm, this beast looks pretty darned good. Well, I skipped the polish and went straight to the Machine Super Wax sealant. I was done doing the whole car in 2 hours flat, wash, dry, clay and wax! Looks like a million bucks! The only thing I can attribute this to is the Machine Super Wax sealant. It protected my Mustang for 5 months!!!! With nary a swirl!!!!!!!! Of course I always maintained it with Adams shampoo and detail spray. I think I found a winning combination for my daily driver Mustang. Again, I can't thank you enough Adam! I'll post some pic's after I finish the tires and wheels and interiot and glass, with Adam's products OF COURSE!!!!
  17. Hey all, long time no see! Anyways, thought I'd check in and report the results of my recent vacation / road trip to the beautiful state of PA. Started the trip in MI, and almost immediately, ran into road construction, road graders, trucks, fresh asphalt, dirt dust and sticky black oily crap they prime the roadbed with. In OH, I ran into some rain showers, which at least cleared my windshield. Next it was the attack of the insects, 700 miles of them. Finally, as I approached my destination, the air went out! Out came the fender protectors laid over my filthy Mustang. After returning home in MI, I was horrified at the sight of my car. I dreaded washing it, enough that I let it go two weeks, with hot sun baking in the contaminates. Today, Labor Day, I faced my battle, Adam's in hand. The weapons? Adams, Car Shampoo, wash pad, grit guard bucket, Waterless Wash Great White and Detail Spray. First I sprayed off the loose dust, then covered the car with shampoo (cheap foam gun). Next I hit all the bug splatted areas and road tar, behind tires with WW and let it soak a few minutes. Out came the wash pad and shampoo filled bucket, followed by pool rinse and DS and Great White. The car looks magnificent and the bugs and tar effortlessly disappeared like magic. I finally hit a couple of the remaining two stubborn large bug splats with WW one more time with my towel. They came off without ANY effort. I thought for sure my car was ruined on this vaca, but Adam's once again saved the day and made mine a good one. THANKYOU!!!
  18. I MSS'd my Mustang two weeks ago and washed it for the first time yesterday. Yes, it stayed clean for two weeks! Even with a couple rain storms! I can't tell you how happy I am with this product. I've tried out all the hyped up posts about doing this and that, layering this over that. You know ... using the blue stuff first then the FMP or vice versa, followed by the glaze then Americana. The FMP followed by the MSS followed by the Americana a week later....I bought them all and tried them all. Truth is, this time, all I did was wash the car with Adams Shampoo, clay with Adams clay, a quick pass of FMP then the MSS. My car never looked wetter and glossier, using this straightforward, simple method. And it didn't take me 5 days to detail the car either. The MSS is so darn easy to apply and the secret I've found out is to not let it sit on the car doing one panel at a time then wiping off. It just looks fantastic. Again apologize for the no pics. I'm tech stupid. I used to use photobucket but they blocked it on our computers. DRAT!
  19. Ok, if I ever met him I would anyways! I detailed my Mustang for the first time this spring. The car looked Amazing f:thumbsup: for a DD driven in Michigan all winter. Granted I still hand washed but man oh man I thought. Do I really need a full detail? I was going to touch up a couple minor areas and then thought what the hey. So I FMP'd the whole car. The pad was black! This after a wash with Adams Shampoo and a little APC. Worked like a charm! Muxh better than Dawnfordishes! The grey clay was superb! My car was incredibly rough to begin with! Did the whole clay in an hour. Finished with FMP. Adam your products make my car look like a show car. I cant thank you enough!!! I love ya man! Hugs:grouphug:
  20. Id LOVE to post a couple shots, but I cant download them off my android. grrrrrrrrr!
  21. I decided to do a detail on the stang this weekend. Products..adams car shampoo with a splash of apc, adams clay, ds, fmp and machine sealant. First off the car looked great to start. Was only going to clay then wax. But what fun would that be? The clay was amazing and super easy. DONT CHANGE IT. It looked fine but I dragged out the FMP. Good thing cause my pad was black when done. Finally the Super Sealant. So easy to use and man oh man!
  22. I'm not in love with the Dodge Charger's sedan style looks, but at night, this is the coolest looking car on the road, and the most badas looking to me. Especially the new ones with led's. Whats your fav?
  23. Kicked my brother out on the street. Well, not exactly...I'm sending him to live with my sister in Perkasie, PA to get into a rehab center out there and seek professional help. He's lived with me for a year. During this time, he's lost his house, lost his job, lost custody of his son, tried to commit suicide and has turned my home into an episode from "One Flew Over The Cookoos Nest" with all the depression and anxiety drugs he's been on together with being a raging alchoholic. I thought I was gaining back a brother from childhood originally, thought it would be nice having him in my life, thought I would have a family member to share life's joys and dissapointments. What I inherited was a ride into hell for a year. I finally reached the boiling point Saturday discovering him passed out in bed at 1:00 p.m., rushing him into ER where he blew a 3.5 blood alchohol. It tore me up feeling like I was the real failure and not the least bit a positive influence for him the past year and I'm devestated to see him gone, but I feel I had no choice left. I did not want to discover him dead from another suicide attempt.
