I voted the last option. I find, frequency wise, I don't use the BG anywhere near as often as, say, the GC or APC or C&UC or WW. So the 16oz. current bottle is perfect.... for me.

No. You're over-reading it. He means the very top layer of the clear coat as in thickness or depth of application/finish. In most cases, and as a general rule, clear coat is applied at about 2-3 Mills thickness OEM, where the actual color is applied at around 1-1.5 Mills Mill standard = .001 inches or .0254 mm [millimeters]. Yeah, not as much as you probably thought. You can now gauge why "burning" through the clear coat is really not that difficult of a task..... and why I'm a huge fan of the Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher over the Flex XC3401VRG Polisher for novices like myself. Hope this helped.

This is generally true but not always a sure method. I've found thru personal experience that pressure - or the correct amount - is the best method to avoid burns.... moreso than regular movement of the pad. I've been taught this is always a sure indicator of [severe] clearcoat burn. Even the slightest paint residue transfer onto a pad is a [near] sure sign of clearcoat burn. Also, unfortunately, it's almost always a case of "too late." Cloudiness is a sign that excess cleartcoat has been removed. Let me paste a section from another board that a member wrote when a near identical situation as yours was encountered by a user -- Quote - "The top layer of the clearcoat contains most of the Ultra Violet blocking material and is also [much] harder and less porous than the lower level. Cutting through this top layer leaves the weaker clearcoat underneath, which will oxidize [cloud] faster. The result is the cloudiness you speak of or a sunburned appearance as you seemed to imply. There is really no cure for this except repainting. This is why you cannot buff out scratches you can feel with your fingernail because it goes too deep into the clearcoat. Clearcoat is only about as thick as a piece of cellophane." Hope this helped.

Not sure if that's a tongue-in-cheek comment....... I'm gonna' cal a spade, a spade here. I dealt with Chemical Guys for almost 4 years. Throughout that period, I called them regularly for product info, issues, concerns, tips and whatnot - especially in the first year where I probably called them every couple of weeks or so - and my calls were always answered the first time. Their customer service, on all levels, was never an issue..... it was numerous steps/products I had to use to achieve the desired result.

I stand to be corrected but Chemical Guys is owned by a group of businessmen/friends who are more "silent" partners than hands-on operations. There is no "Mr. Chemical Guy" per se. Barry Meguiar no longer owns Meguiar's. 3M Co. now owns Meguiar's Inc since the 2008 purchase. Steve [Poor Boy's owner] is actually very humble and approachable. He doesn't forget he came from next to nothing back in the day and worked his butt off to where he and his [small] company is today. Griot's Garage [pfftt...] does not interest me the slightest bit.

Mike, I used Chemical Guys' products exclusively for a good length of time. Truth be told, I still use two of their products. One, because Adam's doesn't make a car scent and the other product because it has served me well for a good length of time and I think it's the best on the market. I live by the rule "if it ain't broke, then don't try'n fix it." While I still believe their [Chemical Guys] products are of high-to-very high quality, my issue with them was the same issue I had with Meguiar's, Pinnacle, Poorboy's, Mother's, Migliore and Zaino.... some [far] moreso than others. I had to go thru too many [arduous] steps to achieve the desired results I so yearned for. Now the end results were great with all the other companies I dealt thru, but, like I mentioned some time ago, with a young family at home I prefer to spend every spare minute with my family rather than my hobbies. Being more efficient and productive to the tasks at hand becomes a serious priority when you have a family. This is where Adam's Premium Car Care products come in, and, quite frankly, are the shizzle. With Adam's products, I get results on par with the others - often much better - with considerable less time and elbow grease involved. Adam's just makes the entire detailing process very SIMPLE [and fun] with next to no BS involved. From a "basic" detail to a "full-blown" paint restoration, Adam's provides the minimal products required with professional results. To top it off, their customer service - I'll be honest - is something I've experienced before two or three times at best over more than 20 years of detailing.... and I've resided in two different contries/continents. I could go on for several more paragraphs, but I'm sure your mental picture is now starting to appear. If you've managed to get this far, thanks for reading.

Keith, thank you for taking the time to reply. That's my inquiry [concern].... How adding further moisture [liquid] to an already wet surface can possibly assit in the drying process. I regularly use Adam's DS on my rides - and love the product and it's "bling" factor upon application/removal - but have never done so following a wash, prior to drying. The Tahoe is due for a good cleaning soon so I'll be sure to try it in the next week or so and report back here.

Awesome! IMHO, the Adam's crew is short changing themselves with Adam's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. I've removed spots/stains embeded over a period of [lengthy] time on carpets and rugs that the professionals at Stanley Steamers were unable to remove. This product is nothing short of amazing! I'd pay five times the current value/cost for this product.... in a heartbeat! "We think Adam's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner is the best available" -- Adam's crew. Absolutely!

There's some great products on the market that eliminated cigarette smell.... not only instantly but for good! I recently had this problem with a used car purchased for my aunt. Quickly resolved! I just wish Adam's made odor elimanators/scents. Never heard of your method but if it's effective - and leaves no "Kingsford" residue - than it's a beauty! Thanks for sharing.

Looks sharp. I know what you mean about enjoying all of ten minutes of a clean black car. We have three in the household and I'll never buy another again.... for that very reason.

Truth be told, I used a leaf blower for many years with great success. Then, fairly recently, my Stihl handheld leaf blower packed it in and while using it on the wife's car after a wash, it blew oil all over the vehicle in small spurts. It was almost dusk at the completition and I didn't notice it at the time as the vehicle's also black. Suffice to say, had my work cut out the next morning when I went outside. I really don't want to experience that again. PS: Thank God I used a quality car wash soap as the oil came right off with next to no effort. An OTC wash soap may have had my work cut out for me a lot more.
