  1. Finally got a break in the cold weather today so I took everyone's advice and went for a rinseless wash. Wow! What a game changer! I got excellent results in less time than it takes me with a normal 2 bucket wash and in the warmth of the garage. I think this will become my regular routine now until a standard wash is necessary. I spent 30 minutes doing a thorough cleaning with the pressure washer, then moved inside to do the rinseless wash. I used about 9 borderless blues to wash and 3 do dry. One of the best things about this method for me is not having to deal with water spots. I have very hard well water and I get spots every time I do a 2 bucket wash. So here she is
  2. Thanks for all the responses. I'm kicking myself for not putting a layer of sealant down before Americana but I didn't have any at the time. I do plan to wash the salt off at the coin op and try out the rinseless technique as a lot of you have suggested. Just waiting for a decent break in the weather. Do any of you know is it ok if rinseless spills on the garage floor (cement)? Will it cause any staining?
  3. Just a few questions I had regarding driving in winter weather. First off, I happened to get caught in some pretty heavy sleet driving home one evening last week and I was wondering if you guys think sleet would be abrasive enough to cause any sort of damage to the finish? Second, I tried to avoid driving when the roads are salty as much as I can but this winter it has been almost impossible because they dump loads of salt on the roads if there is even a hint of inclement weather. Will having salt on the surface cause any damage if left on for a week or so at a time? It would be really impractical to clean my truck after every time I drove on salty roads because it's usually only a couple days before having to do it again. However I don't want to cause any severe damage from the salt. I do have a coat of Americana on the paint and quick sealant on the wheels and front end.
  4. Thanks Adam! I believe mine is around 34-36 gallons so I can run over 700 miles on a tank!
  5. Cheers I'm actually averaging 19 mpg right now which is a step up from the 12.5 in my last truck
  6. Yes I went to Maryland. Thanks guys I'm loving it so far and it has given me a renewed love for Adams products. Waiting to get tint done and then probably leaving it as is for now!
  7. Fresh coat of Americana and Quick sealant on the wheels to get her through the winter
  8. Thanks for all the help guys. I will try adding rinseless to the wash bucket for now and maybe re-agitating any spots where soap has dried before rinsing. I would love to purchase the deionizer but I'm afraid replacing the resin at $80-$90 bucks a pop on top of the initial cost might be a little out of my range right now
  9. I am considering this but as my daily driver and being used the way a truck is meant to be used, I will probably have to do a 2 bucket wash more often than not. I'm really hesitant to try the new rinseless wash system because there is hardly ever a time I can think of that there is nothing more than a fine layer of dust on the paint. There is always a couple bugs and other stuff stuck to the front end and the lower part of the truck and I don't want to inflict damage. But it sure would be nice to clean my truck with a few towels and a bucket!
  10. Yes I clayed and applied Americana a week ago I live in the country so I'm on a well
  11. I will say that applying brilliant glaze is kind of therapeutic and so easy on/off that using it as a LSP to clear up the finish might just be a necessity for my situation but when there are time constraints it would be less convenient.
  12. When I was using detail spray as a drying agent I would lightly mist the truck just like the videos but in order to get the streaks out I would really have to put some elbow grease into it with the drying towel. I'm pretty sure it's a combination of the soap drying and hard water as I wash because it's a large truck. Not really sure of anything that will prevent it but maybe try "re-activating" the dried areas of soap as Michael said before rinsing.
  13. Sorry about the first picture for some reason it keeps uploading some of my pics sideways?
  14. I just finished doing a maintenance wash a tried using the rinseless mix as the drying agent. Still having trouble. I'm definitely getting streaks from the soap/water mix. Today I fixed it by applying brilliant glaze which removed the streaks and made the truck look perfect but it would be nice if I didn't have to do this every time I washed. Here is a picture of the back window after wash and rinseless mix dry (easier to see on the window than the paint) And here is a little glam shot after BG
  15. I just made a waterless wash mix out of rinse less the other day so I will try using it today after my wash. Do you spray the truck down pretty good with the rinseless and thoroughly wipe the entire surface with your drying towel or do you just sort of mist it and do a light knock down with the drying towel?
  16. This happens to me too I get distracted watching the raindrops fly up the windshield haha
  17. I'm having trouble with what to do as the last step of my maintenance washes. I've had a black truck for the past 3 years which was a bear to keep clean and I just traded it in on a new truck that's a dark grey metallic color. The problem I have always had is once I've washed and dried my truck (with detail spray) I can never seem to end up with a "clean" or "clear" finish if that makes since. I always seem to have some kind of streaks or cloudiness that I have to almost scrub to get off. It's almost like using revive to get the streaks or leftover film off the truck would be the perfect solution but I don't want to remove and reapply wax every time I wash. I know my truck is large and dark so it shows everything and when washing the soap usually has time to dry in some places but I really don't know how to avoid that or what to change about my routine. Any thoughts?
  18. I spoke with customer service today and they are resolving the issue. Also going above and beyond to make up for the delay. Can't beat Adam's customer service
  19. I emailed customer service about 10 days ago and they replied that I would receive a fed ex tracking number once the order was shipped but I still haven't received anything. Order number is 259390. Thanks
  20. Hi Adam, I placed an order #259390 July 2nd and I still haven't even received a tracking number. I'm aware of your situation and not upset at all just looking for an update because it seems like people who placed orders a lot later than mine are already receiving them now. Thanks
  21. It's a Sea Hunt BX 22 BR and will be used mostly in the Eastern Shore rivers and the bay.
  22. Picking up a new boat on Wednesday! I want to get it detailed and protected as soon as I get it since it will be live a salt water life. I will be pulling it out of the water after each use and giving it a soap and water wash. I'm guessing I will use SVRT to protect the vinyl cushions but any suggestions for the aluminum on the t-top? Would quick sealant work for that? Also I want to wax the hull but I'm not sure if there is any disadvantage to using Americana instead of some of the marine waxes due to the saltwater conditions? Any help would be great thanks
  23. that would be in the words of Adam "outstanding"
