  1. Nice looking truck, I really like the style of those rams compared to mine. Much easier waxing without badges. Are you going to leave the door ding guards on or take them off too? Do you have any other ideas of what you are going to do to it or are you going to leave it somewhat stock?
  2. Thanks for the comment. I have thought about painting the mirrors, but on a white truck I think it might look weird. All I am going to do is order smooth handles to paint and paint my other grill and go from there.
  3. Amazing car and photos, I want that car, nice work
  4. For some mechanics they look at it as paying for their own stuff off of everything they try to sell and that is all they care about. I have noticed a lot of mechanics drive GM in some way, I think it is due to parts are cheap, they are easy to fix most of the time, and parts are easily accessible. I really don't think you will have any major problems with you truck for a long time, they have very well built long lasting motors in them as long as you do regular maintenance. My dads 2000 GMC sierra has 160000 regular miles on it and the only thing that went bad was the trans and it was a cheap fix.
  5. Thanks, it definitely isn't clean right now, washed it and then it snowed that night:mad:. I do drive it all the time and have some fun with it, I am just picky on how my truck looks. You have a really nice car too, I like the picture with the other 2 vettes next to yours. That is the best part of my job, once in a while I get a chance to drive a new vette either the LS7 C6 or the scares the crap out of me but still fun ZO6.
  6. Nice choice of color, that paint fully detailed looks amazing in the dark or the sunlight. Hope you enjoy it.
  7. I would love to have a Cummins Turbo Diesel. I have driven two different ones, but the best one was the one that I had to reinstall a propane injection kit on. Geared for towing also, but still absolutely insane when the propane kicked in. Those trucks with exhaust and the turbo spooling up makes me really happy. You aren't going to give up that nice GMC for one are you?
  8. Nice shine and good looking car, good work.
  9. That's the truth, I am happy that I was bored that day. I really learned a lot on how to detail a vehicle that completely changed the way that I took care of my vehicles (before I thought I was doing good, but I was actually making things worse). If I didn't find the product site I probably wouldn't be on here now learning even more. Keep up the good work.
  10. Forgot, the control arm (along with tie rods) like to go bad because of Chrysler bright idea of having non-greaseable tie rods and ball joints, so they go bad a lot. Once it is out of warranty and the go bad replace them with something like Moog with a grease zerk to keep things lubricated. Hope all this helps and sorry for the long posts.
  11. Sorry to hear that you have so many problems. Most likely with the wheel bearing that it just went bad generally once they start to make noise they go quick and they don't always have play in them they just start grinding. It doesn't mean they were bad when the car was certified, but it could have been starting and the dealership just did not want to pay for it. Brakes it just sounds like low quality parts, almost every Chrysler vehicle seems to have the same problem. The acceleration issue is may be because of the electronic throttle control (no cable between foot and throttle), there is a delay for some reason that gets really annoying because my truck does the same thing and I have met other people who had the same problems. The computer doesn't downshift right away and the delay = slow acceleration. All you could do to fix that is add more power to make you happy when it kicks in . There may actually be problems, and is still good to have it checked out.
  12. Has anyone used window polish to clean up sap, streaks, water spots, etc. I used my clay bar on the windshield, but there are still little spots on the windshield that are annoying in the sunlight. Something like this http://autogeek.net/dp515.html
  13. I was bored one day and decided to Google my own name (Adam), and the site was one of the links, clicked it, watched videos, and signed up for the email because I liked what I saw. It actually paid off to be bored and sit around.
  14. No vette, just my Dodge Ram and Ford Maverick (summer). Although I would take a C6 Z06 with no problem
  15. Thanks. I actually like to work on Chevy's since they seem to be easier to work on, but I really like my dodge. I does drive me nuts sometimes though. Both have their good and bad sides.
  16. I don't own one, but I work on chevy's and have driven enough of them. The only major problems I have seen is one car had an sunroof installation error from the factory and was leaking badly, a few of them have problems with warping the front rotors but I think that is just the way the people drove covered by the warranty though. The most I have seen go wrong is the module for the keyless entry has to be replace along with the antenna and the transmitters. Most of these problems happen under warranty though. Other than that they are great cars, good reliable engine, comfortable, I love the sounds of the factory exhaust, and the leather does soften up after a good conditioner is used over time. Sorry for the long post just had to cover all points I have encountered. Hope this helps.
  17. I wish I could have a lift with a Corvette on it in my garage. Nice setup though, a lot cleaner than mine too.
  18. At least it was able to help save the bumper. Did the bumper get pushed into the body at all, or was it just a dent in the bumper?
  19. I currently work as a Chevrolet Technician so far about 1 1/2 years, but before that I worked for RadioShack. Definitely a career change.
  20. That's good to know since I love using this thing for my truck to cut down drying time. I will just pay attention to it and hopefully i won't scratch anything. I should probably replace it and get one of the jelly handled ones and get rid of my old plastic handled blade. Thanks.
  21. Nice car, but that sure is an ugly truck. Oh wait...
  22. I have used a california water blade for a little while now on my truck. It works really well for me, but is there any long term damage that could happen as the blade gets older, I wipe the thing off after every swipe.
  23. Thank you. Very informative which is why I joined this forum. Yeah, my truck is parked on dirt and outside all the time. If that is working well for you on a black vehicle and in Colorado I think it will work for me. I definitely like to be warm so the faster the better. Combining everyone's ideas my truck should never get dirty;). Hopefully more see this for a good winter regimen. Thanks all for the help and Happy Thanksgiving also.
