  1. Looks like either a turbo'd lawnmower or a custom icebox....
  2. In the sun I saw some micro marring, will hit it with white foam and finishing polish... will see if I can capture the micro marring.
  3. Looks like you will need to wet sand then polish. Grit will depend on how rough the lens is. Might want to start with 1000 grit but might have to go to 800 or even 600...
  4. Pics or it never happened. What is the complaint? Yellowing? Scratches? Foggy? Need more details... [my gen coupe drivers side headlight has some scratches I will need to sand out... that's gonna be a little fun.]
  5. ALL I can say is the new polishes and pads ROCK! I am glad Adams answered the call for something more aggressive! Anything that saves me time is something I will invest in. The MF pads may just be the best on the current market, certainly better than others I have purchased! Rock on Adams... well done!
  6. I am happy Adams came out with a more aggressive polish system. While I understand the FLEX PE14-2-150 is outside the current Adams market niche, I hope they offer it someday. I would love to see what my Makita will do with the new Adams Polish system (with or without MF pads).
  7. One thing I didn't mention.. as those that use the Flex XC3401VRG know... vibration is an issue (less than the PC however). If needing to cover a ton of real estate I would most likely use another tool (I do have a Mikita rotaty). What that would be at the moment is constrained by my wallet....
  8. Brand X has a MF system, and I must say the Adams MF pads blow that MF system AWAY! Things I had thought to do in the test included using a rotary, and a third polish to Brand X (from their lineup), but I really wanted to keep things as close as possible in this test and that's why I stayed with the Flex. I was amazed at what the Flex and MF pads could do. Whether Adams or another polish system, the MF pads and a given polish may do away with the need for rotary polishes for correction (outside the body shop).
  9. And for the before and afters!!!! Before: Dull, lifeless... After I finished the whole trunk with the "winning" combo... New Adams polishes, new Adams MF pads.... I'm happy with the results.... [edit] BTW, this shot is pure polish, no glaze, no sealant, no wax![/edit] Enjoy!
  10. So here is a result of two passes correction, one finishing: Of the three the MF pads corrected the most (no surprise), and I was pleasantly surprised how fast I got the results I was looking for! This clear is decently hard, so I used both MF pads to finish it down. Pictures don't show it well but this is a comparison between Adams two pads. left is the MF pads, right is the Gen3 pads A little hard to see in the pics, but more clarity on the left , with more correction done with the MF pads, finishing nicely! Brand X finished nicely, with about the same clarity as Adams new polishes with Gen3 pads. I didn't think to test Brand X with the MF pads, which would have been a better/fairer test between the two polishes. I only thought of this after completing the test... I'll try test at a later date. So to clarify, best clarity with new polishes, MF pads in this test. All three.... again, in the pics a little hard to tell which had best clarity, and it was hard to tell in person, with a slight edge to the new polishes with MF pads.
  11. So I finally got around to getting the new polishes, and wanted to give them a good test. Forgive the Iphone pictures in advance, but I think they will show what the polishes/pads accomplished. Pictures are worth a thousands words, but the test was as follows: 1) Paint correcting Polish, paint finishing polish (2 passes, correction, one finishing), with Adams microfiber pads 2) Paint correcting Polish, paint finishing polish (2 passes correction, one finishing) with Adams Gen 3 pads 3) Brands X, Correcting and Finishing polishes (1 pass each) with Adams Gen 2 pads Flex XC3401VRG was used as the test mule polisher. The test area was a thrashed trunk. I'm not sure how the patient got in this condition, but it presented like this: This is AFTER a wash and clay! Close-up, Ouch! I had noticed light scratches/swirls prior to this but this looked like decent oxidation on the clear. This was taken after wash, dry and wipe down with Adams Detail Spray. And now for the contestants: New polishes, new MF pads. New polishes, Gen3 Pads. Brand x, Gen2 Pads.
  12. I blotted CUC and gently rubbed with the "grain" of the threads. Need to do it periodically as the thread is white and can get dingy.
  13. For white cars decon with DWC makes sense, as all normal claying, washing, polishing, etc... I do wonder, Rich, anything special you do for white to "pop"? BG? What do you use as you LSP?
  14. Makes perfect sense..... If your car is covered in white fabric
  15. Looks like Paul Dalton has competition. Not clear what the $150,000 is for, maybe private aircraft fuel costs? Remember he goes wherever they need. If its a "hot spot" I would want hazard pay! Kudos for him for his awesome marketing!
  16. Tim, Wow.. really makes me want to pick up my brushes again. I uses to do oils and latex.. mostly trucks, but also some Lambos and Ferraris... never did life size though.
  17. Mook, Personally I would use the actual model names to avoid confusion. Especially since Flex makes both the forced rotation, dual action AND the rotary models. While I agree with Dylan, many manufacturers use RO and DA interchangeably. Now, if Flex could come up with a DA (forced rotation) with 21mm throw.....
  18. Mook, Question... 1) What do you mean by RO? Did you mean forced RO? It is a random orbital polisher, right? 2) Is the cleaning due to MF or speed of flash. If it is working the polish faster I would expect to have to clean it more often. Maybe adjusting speed down a tad is indicated. 3) So are you saying correction is slower with the Bigfoot, all else equal? Less cut than the Flex? Same pads and arm movement speed, time spent, etc being eqaul.... All this due tot he fact I'm seriously thinking about the BIgfoot 21.
  19. The one odd thing is i don't remember the abbreviation expansion applied to PMs????
  20. Would like to see a side by side vid of the new polishes and the Megs twins... anyone up for it? Use of the new MF pads is a plus for this vid as well... and if no one up for this maybe a side by side vid with the old polishes....
  21. I've been waiting for years... another few days/weeks/months won't phase me too much
  22. While we're guessing, maybe they were enamored with the Rupes 21 and will offer it with the new MF pads and new polishes. Or the FLEX PE14-2-150!
  23. My setup: PW pump --> Handle ---> Wand (w qc)---> Either lower pressure head or MTM cannon. I used my pressure washer over the weekend on the deck and the high pressure head is enough to remove PAINT!! Needless to say I use the lower pressure head on the car, only when i have stuborn dirt/etc. Otherwise I use the Adams firehose nozzle.
  24. Many folks were using rotary polishers and large wool or foam pads, this almost always meant using another polish after, usually on a DA to take out the buffer trails from the rotary pass. (Many bodies shops still use rotataries and wool pads, which sometimes results in cars coming out of body shops with buffer trails, some dealer detailers also use this method). Using smaller pads and different polishes, a detailer can often finish down to jeweling with a rotary, given the right polish(es) and pads. (M101 can be worked to pre-LSP, given the right pad and speeds) Of course a new trend is to use larger throw DAs like the Rupes (with different pads, like MF) and a good cutting polish to make the need for rotaries deminish. We live in fun times for detailers! It will be interesting to see what Adams comes out with. What has always been precious for me is TIME. GIven my current job and life situation, my time is always at a premium. My research and focus has been to get the best result in the shortest amount of time... safely. SO far that has led me to move from the PC, to Flex, to a rotary, and use what is needed for the defects at hand. So I'll continue to monitor Adams as they bring a more agressive polish system to market.
