  1. Every one I've seen has safety locking points every several inches or so. This one locks at 26", 32", 38", 43", 48", 52". Scissor Lifts | TCPL6 6,000 LB. Mid Rise Lift / Portable Pad Lift I've seen several others with similar locking points, one as low as 20". The ones that go up to 61+ inches make me nervous as the two legs start getting awfully close together. I like how they all run on 110V, not 220V. This Mohawk one is made in the USA and looks super nice, particularly the unrestricted under-access and 6' lift height, but it's also ~$6000. Again the close legs when fully lifted just looks scary. 2. After seeing the lift setup on that Gallardo, I'm so drooling for a mid-rise lift. I would hesitate to inset it into the floor as I like to work in the middle of the garage for maximum room on the sides. I just pull the other car out of the way. Once you pick an inset location, you are pretty married to it. They are 'portable' too, so I guess you could use it that way for a while to test your habits. Oh man, would this be nice for detailing wheels/exhaust, polishing lower panels, wheel and brake maintenance, oil changes..... Ooh, be still my coveting heart.
  3. Detailed the A8 last night til about 1am. Then I detailed the A4 this afternoon. I'm thinking of starting the paint correction on it tonight.
  4. Finally got a chance to watch this video. As usual, the production and material was professional, thorough, and entertaining. Thanks Adam. Now I'm just glad in Atlanta I can usually wash in my driveway. I've never used a car wash like that. Hmmmm, might have to try that out in Jan-Feb.
  5. Awesome save! Very thorough detail and an enjoyable read. I appreciate the time it takes to do all those before/after shots. Great work on the microscratching from the sunroof deflector too. What was your process on the B-pillars? Mine are very similar on the A8: black plastic and similar size/shape. It's one of the few places I haven't corrected on the car yet.
  6. Put up the tree and wreaths on the windows. We still have to do ornaments. I also met up with a couple of my closest highscool friends (class of '89) for one of their 40th bdays down at the Varsity in downtown Atlanta. (I got my oil changed as they say)
  7. I'd hate to get something thrown at me and risk damaging that perfect spot on the Kia or the fixed scratch on the trashed S4. P.S. I've known that S4 for many years as it used to belong to another aquantaince. I couldn't believe how trashed it was. Made me cringe.
  8. I was just wondering about a blank label for the bottles, and sure enough, the topic has come up before. Any intent to go through with this? At first I though a label with the Adams logo but a blank area would be cool, but then I foresee potential issues. What if someone's strange concoction did some damage and got linked to the Adam's name. Not good. Perhaps the logo could have the same color/stripe layout and even a disclaimer. Anyway, for us anal types (and who on here isn't?), the aesthetics of the detailing supplies are important too. I'd love to have Shampoo/water, APC/water, IPA solutions, etc available in the awesome bottles. Just sayin'..... Thanks for everything. LOVE the products.
  9. Fun clinic with the Junkman today. Short nap. Then I took my daughter to Barnes and Noble to find a new book for her.
  10. I like to call this the progression of my hair: Me with my Dad ~1974/5: My first serious quartet, Class of '94 in 1994: Here's my wife and I during an Audi rally a few years ago when we were still dating in 2002: Me singing to and eventually proposing to my wife in 2003: My most recent quartet, State Line Grocery, that got as high as 3rd internationally: (We're on Comcast On-Demand/Music/Top Picks/Barbershop this December and January)
  11. Since I was up past midnight detailing, that counts as today. I polished the rear end of the A8, trying out the new Spray Sealant, Brilliant Glaze, and Revive along with my typical assortment of Adam's products.
  12. The paint on my DD is almost fully corrected as of last weekend, just need some details completed: side mirrors and front/rear bumpers. I also need to work a lot on the barrels of the wheels which I plan to do tomorrow. The previous owner liked to park by feel , so the wheel lips were pretty chewed up. I had them touched up a few months ago so they are in MUCH better shape. My best shot of the paint today. No paint correction yet on my wife's DD, but being white, it's not as noticeable. Plus it only has 40kmiles on it. I plan to start the correction this December on her car. Being in the south has its advantages. This picture is from a detail I did in late September, but I detailed it last weekend and it looks the same. We don't have a NON-daily driver garage queen.
  13. Trimmed the bushes, raked and picked up all the trimmings, blew all the leaves into the treed area in the backyard, and finally mowed for the last time this year. I'm beat. Then I fixed a leftover plate about 3x the size of my stomach and proceeded to overeat.....ugh. I don't need to wait that long before eating.
  14. '81 Gold w/ brown interior Honda Civic station wagon with some paint splatter on the interior. lemme think for a minute.........no.
  15. I noticed that message too. The Adam's forum was my first time using Tapatalk so I'm not sure what I may be missing. Seems to work fine for me.
  16. Thanks. Hmmm, I finally found the shirt under the "New Products" tab. It seems like it would show up somewhere else, or perhaps it's just operator error. That goes for the decals too. Those show up under "Specials". So they are both in 'temporary' locations, but don't seem to have a 'permanent' home/tab.
  17. After seeing the thread about the Adam's banner, it seems Adam's could sell a fair amount of things like this: t-shirt polo shirt hat banner decals (you already have these) ??? I understand clothing is not your focus business, but effectively, you are getting people to gladly pay to advertise for you, so that's a pretty good ROI.
  18. That cart is sitting in my cart just taunting me everytime I look at it. Muahahahaha!
  19. corrected the paint on my hood: -waterless wash -clayed -5 passes with Flex (first 2 were on speed 3 instead of 5 so I had to start over) -Dr. Color Chip repair ~20 spots -Sealed -Waxed -Cleaned up everything Trunk and hood done. Roof next in a couple of days. So that was about 5 hours.
  20. Drove back to Atlanta from Tarpon Springs (Tampa). Whew. 9 hours with stops. The A8 is a wreck! While down there, we went through some torn up roads, so we sort of went muddin'. There's mud all up the sides, tree crap, bug guts, tons of road grime, and typical interior trip trash. I'm hoping for a 3-day detail 'event' this week to clean her up and do paint correction.
  21. I bought some VRT and In and Out spray through one of your distributors, DetailersDomain, a couple of years ago. I love the VRT, but haven't used the In and Out spray to its potential. A few weeks ago, I found Junkman's video on how safe the PC7424 is and started watched more of his videos. This led to Adam's videos and eventually the forums. I've followed a couple of Audi-related forums, AudiWorld and QuattroWorld for well over 10 years, and have recently been following their detailing forums. But being small subsets of all their forums, it's not the best venue to learn the details of well, detailing. Adam's forums have been great so far, and so friendly. I filled out the rest of my detailing arsonal recently with a Flex and Adam's products. I can't wait to hone my skills and be a helpful contributor to the forums. Thanks Adam's!
