    Family News!

Congratulations Adam and Melissa!!! Why do I feel like there is a double soft onesie in the making...
  2. I used Revive and Quick Sealant on my door jambs, engine jamb area and truck jamb area. All came out beautifully.
  3. The design is still growing on me and it seems to be pulling some influences from say a Ferrari and some Transformers-esk styling cues. If I were to look into one, that gunmetal color would be #1 in my book.
  4. Absolutely awesome!! That car is gorgeous. Now you know you need to do a few things. Post up some good audio clips of it at idle and up in the RPM and then of course, a nice Adamized smokey burnout (once the temperatures get warmer of course) Long live old school muscle!
  5. Oh man and here I was going to put some 20" Rockstars on the Jeep... I agree with you tho on the first ones with the cleaner lines. Plus it just seems to fit the character of the truck more if that makes any sense. When you get it set where you want it nothing is going to be too over the top or flashy but done tastefully.
  6. As far as I can see, the main difference is if you want your wheel lugs to be exposed or not. Both have the fake looking bolt head to simulate a beadlock on the outer edge and the Fuels have some knob looking thing towards the outside spoke. I would be curious to see how well those center cap covers on the Fuel wheels hold water, snow, salt, dirt and all of that stuff only because it would then start to impact the finish of those wheels. I'd have to say I'd go with the first ones. Flatter and cleaner looking as far as the lines and design go on the wheel itself.
  7. So a 31.5" tire. I would just do a leveling kit and the Bilsteins for 33's but if you want the lift, go for it. I know my dads truck rides a ton better with the Bilsteins than the factory shocks that had about 27k on them.
  8. What's your current tire size?
  9. You'll be happy with the 4" kit and 35's. Heck I'm lowering the Jeep so it's basically a 1" lift height yet still running 35's After a bit of looking around the only late model truck that I have seen embrace the 'lets fit the wheel well to the tire' is the Ford Raptor but I know they come with a decent price tag as well.
  10. Ah okay. I just like to follow up and see how things are going when something like this is done for someone.

This was covered a while ago. Search.
  12. Chase is right tho. Do not put 22's on that thing. If you do, well, I know where you live and will smack ya for Chase! Haha! The biggest problems with these truck, and I have no idea why they keep designing them this way but it's the wheel well opening themselves. They make them so tall with a ton of room and then barely clear the OD of the tire towards the bottom of the opening. I just sit here and shake my head since the design team for the trucks seem to never get it. Heck my Jeep is on a 2" lift and I'm running 35's. I know, apples to oranges but don't run that thing to the sky just to run a 35. Those truck are so big that honestly, anything less than a 37 doesn't seem proportional to the truck. I also agree with the wheel sizing. I know I will be running a 17" wheel with my 35's and 37's for a multitude of reasons but for a comparison, my dad has an 08 Ram with the factory 20" wheels on it. At first they looked huge compared to the tires. We did a leveling kit and put some 33" Duratrac tires on it. Honestly it sits perfect for cruising around town and even in the snow. It actually sits higher than my Jeep on 35's. Would I go any taller on that truck? Heck no. It's more capable than my dads driving skills are and he even admitted that he needs to get used to the size of the truck since his DD is a Fusion. For Jeeps and trucks, after working on them for years, I have adopted the KISS method a ton. The tasteful stuff is where it's at on these trucks. If I see some 22" spinners, you're asking for it!
  13. Oh Mook, I already knew I was going to be recruited for this one. Haha! It does need some TLC both inside and out but it isn't super hateful. Can't slam this thing since the roads in her area are horrible. The hot rod can be slammed tho since it is a hot rod! I know after mine got a little drop in her step I can easily reach areas before where I had to get on my tip toes for. Then again, I'm not that tall to begin with. Ah the joys of being vertically challenged.
  14. Nice! A word of advice from someone who has been working with and drives a rig with a decent size tire, please consider re-gearing your axles to accommodate the larger diameter of the tires and the possible weight gain with the wheels. Nothing worse than having a truck all jacked up with some nice meats only to be a dog on the road. Your transmission will thank you for re-gearing as well as your motor for not having to work it as hard. Also that's a lot of lift for 35's! I know it's apples to oranges but on my dads 08 Ram he just has a leveling kit and is running 33" Goodyear Duratrac's. He even said he wouldn't want it any higher due to getting stuff in and out of the bed. I only bring it up since I'm sure there will be a possibility of you hauling the detailing supplies around in the bed. It's only going to get worse with a 6" or 7" lift!!!
  15. Trust me, there's a whole long list of people that want all of the details, including me! Once things settle down I'll update this with what I find out. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped spread the word and kept an eye out for Lexy and the FJ.
  16. It is excellent news for sure. As of now they can't go into much detail as to how it exactly all happened due to legal actions but I figured I would at least update everyone with the good news
  17. UPDATE! Lexy and the truck have been found!! Lexy is at home with her owner and enjoying life once again. Sorry for the delay in getting this up. Been away from the forums a bit.
  18. First mod will happen today! Removal of that rear window sticker! It's not even my ride and I'm working on it!!
  19. Another one to check into for an alternative for Crapsman sockets and some other tools are Armstrong Industrial Hand Tools. My dad just told me about them last night. I will say this, all of the Snap On tools that I have used have always impressed me and quality hasn't ever been an issue.
  20. Nothing yet. They did get the plate ran in Cobb County, GA at 1:45am a few days ago. They thought it would have triggered immediate response but the owner of the dog found out that the cars down there have cameras on the cars that just seek out plates and take photos of them. That's the only lead they have so far. Please everyone in that area and even Alabama keep an eye out. I know many of you won't check this today but they at least have a direction the vehicle went. I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle for him and his family. Merry Christmas all. Give your family and any 4 legged friends some extra attention today.
  21. No, keys were not left in the vehicle. The mans dog and truck are still out there. Many have been searching the area left and right and also the local fire department took their air plane up and did quite a few passes looking for it in case it was ditched in a more remote and less traveled area. I'm going to update the first post with some additional photos and info on the truck and dog.
  22. Thank you DUKE-Z! No updates besides there will be TV commercial ad's in the local area where the dog and truck were stolen. Also has made the local Fox News and some other bigger local headlines. Quite a few people are trying to get this to much larger sites and even on Yahoo's main page. I just want him to have his dog back. I couldn't even begin to imagine the emotions he is dealing with. Also, if you do share this link or post it up on your facebooks or any other social media outlets, please post up here and let me know. I'm relaying all of the info back to him to try to keep his spirits up. Thank you all for your help with this!
