Matt, do you know where you can purchase the Krud Kutter graffiti and road paint remover in a 32 oz bottle? I am only finding it in 55 gallon drums.

I would like to see Adam's offer low profile microfiber cutting and finishing pads. After trying the ones you developed for "the other guys", I can honestly say I don't know if I would go back to Adam's current MF pads. Using a FLEX I felt like I had better control with it being lower profile, seemed to get better/quicker cut and found that I could machine polish in areas I couldn't get to before (i.e. partially under the door handles) reducing some of the hand work needed.

Understanding there is logic to using both pad heights, maybe Adam's could offer both?

It's not your Sealant. Your MF towel is linting. Most will tell you it's time for a new MF towel. I have found that the cheaper MF towels work better for removing quick sealant haze.

I love the SVRT and would recommend it to anyone, however; I would not recommend it for use on running boards if you actually use it as a step. Yes they look awesome when you use it on them and I would even say if you dont use your running boards as a step, SVRT is the way to go. I had to stop using it on my wife's Tahoe because she insists on stepping on them to get in and she almost fell a few times. It does make them slick immediately after application (at least for a week or so). Once it soaks in and/or dries up a bit I would say you have nothing to worry about.

I will say this: I dont want to discredit what Todd said because I have used SVRT on many vehicles and it acts differently on different plastics. Some plastics absorb it better than others and would be less slick or not slick at all. I think it just depends on the application.

So if you want your running boards to look stellar and dont actually need to step on them, SVRT is the way to go. If you ride with others that use the steps (significant other, kids, etc.) and want to avoid a fall at all costs either avoid using it or knock it down with a microfiber after applying it. Either way, SVRT a must for your arsenal. You wont be disappointed.

Agree. I used the APC on the wheel wells. Green Wheel on the wheels. Being brand new, it didnt require Deep Wheel.

I have had success with doing a Dawn Soap wash a week after applying Quick Sealant. I fixed some halograms on a balck hood for a customer, sealed it, waited an hour and top coated with Americana. I beleive due to the high humidity that day I probably did'nt let the Quick Sealant cure long enough and some residual hazing appeared two days later, traped under the Americana. I brought the car back in and added Dawn soap mixed with some water and APC to a spray bottle. Covered the entire hood and let it dwell for about 15-20 mins. Followed that with a dawn soap two bucket wash. Dried the car and followed with IPA wipedown. Resulted in the complete stripping of the wax and sealant.

If it were me, I would figure out how to remove the console and then I would use the drill with the 4" pads or I would try the microfiber pads. I have never tried to polish these plastics myself but I have seen pictures others have posted using this method with great success.

Just curious, I understand the logic but why would you want to ask someone to sign a waiver to clean their engine compartment? There is not to much you can hurt as long as you bag up exposed filters. IMO, you could do more damage detailing the interior and/or exterior of the car than the engine bay. (i.e accidentally dropping the polisher on the hood, kicking a ladder or step stool into the door trying to reach the roof, etc.)

But to answer your question, I would just google waiver templates and work off one of those. For it to be legit, you may need an attorney to assist you to ensure all of your basis are covered.

Friends, I hate to keep bringing this up, but it seems our friend is going to continue to be a nuisance. 

 

A member here brought to our attention that a Mrs. Tammy Dupre (the cross dressing alter ego of he who shall not be named) submitted a bunch of 1 star reviews on our amazon listings. 

 

Obviously he was plenty satisfied with the products before we removed him from the forum (giving Americana a "5 gold star" review here) so this is yet another act where he (or she) is attempting to harass us. I've added these actions to the police report (the fine folks at amazon were happy to provide information confirming the same IP address was used to submit the reviews) so I don't want them removed as they serve as further proof of his activity. 

 

In the meantime I'd ask that anyone who has use the product and would like to submit a LEGITIMATE review of the products on Amazon to provide a REAL ranking for us. Thanks!

Dont worry Dylan, we got this!

I just completed a silver car over the weekend (Flex) and had no issues with this. Did you by chance run the pad cleaning brush over the pads before you started using them? I did this and saw some loose fibers fly but that was it. It's nothing I wouldnt expect from a new pad, towel or of the likes. I know we are all just getting going with the new system so I am curious to see if similiar issues arise with anyone else, but I have done two vehicles now and have not experienced this.

I have had the opportunity of meeting Adam, Dylan, Mook and Ashley on numerous, seperate ocassions. They are all really cool and down to earth and within minutes of talking with them it's like your chating with an old friend. They dont talk down to you and they arent quick to move you on your way. They were all willing to stand and talk for as long as I cared to. I would say this carries over to their willingness to answer the phone, answer an email or field questions daily on the forum.  I think it says alot about the Adam's culture and the types of people Adam employs in his Company as well as the kind hearted people that each one is, in general.

Mook, I was very pleased with the new products on this car. I found that the white foam pad finished just a little nicer than the white microfiber pad, and even then it was very difficult to tell. Unfortunately the color kills this car. I didnt appreciate the outcome until I backed it outside. The florescent lights in the garage just washed the color and shine out.

All in all I was very pleased. I did a black 5 series a year ago with the old 3 step and it seemed to fight me the entire way. Not sure if it was the clear or what. I was a little concerned going in to this how the Euro paint would react with the microfiber pads but I had no issues. Good luck on the M3.

I had the opportunity to complete my first detail using the new 2 step polishing system with the new micro fiber pads. I had all intentions of treating this as a new car prep until the car arrived. Apparently only 4 months is all it takes for paint to begin going south when it's exposed to the elements on a daily basis.

Below are some pictures as well as my initial assesement of the new products. All in all I was very pleased.

General conclusions on the new products:

1. I love the fact that I can now get the same (or better) results in just 2 steps; rather than 3. As someone who details as a side business, time is money.

2. I personally noticed less dusting than with the 3 step foam system. I made sure I cleaned the microfiber pads after each panel.

3. I was happy with the flash time with the Correcting Polish. However, I couldnt get the Finishing Polish to flash. Or at least it seemed this way. I just worked it for a number of passes and then wiped the polish off the panel. I was pleased with the results so I just went with it. Being that this is only my first time using this system, I will chlak this up as part of the learning curve.

4. Micro fiber vs. foam. I tried a variety of combinations of both pads. For this vehicle I used the micro fiber pads for both stages. I couldnt tell a noticeable difference between the white MF and the white foam. I chose to stick with the MF pad because I wanted to spend some time familiarizing myself with it and the foam pad seemed to get caked up too easily and started making a mess on the panels. Again, probably more leanring curve and user error than anything.

As I said, I was very pleased for being the first time using the new products. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Any idea what causes the towels to lint to begin with, assuming we are washing them properly? If we can avoid something we may be doing wrong that would help. Do you think it is washing machine related? I had a brand new towel i just used for the first time 1 week ago, washed it with my other single and double softs and it linted on me two days ago. Not sure if I can use it anymore. Can I get it to stop linting if I identify which one(s) are goners and causing it to spread?

I wash my detail towels seperate...or my wife would have my you know what! I actually wash my cheap microfibers seperate from my Adam's towels. I do, however, on occasion wash my single and double softs with my glass towels, great white drying towels and waterless wash towels. Would you consider that to be a No No? should I keep the microfibers completely seperate?

Dont get me wrong, I love Adam's and I am complaining jokingly. I understand that nothing lasts for ever and eventually towels need to be replaced. I only jumped o this topic because this linting issue has just recently started with my towels and it was a coincidence that others posted about it.

One of the things I love about Adam's is that you guys are actively on this forum answering questions and troubleshooting with us. I think I speak for everyone when I say we truly appreciate your day to day involvement on the forum!

So you can sympathize with our frustration. Nothing worse than putting all that time into a full correction and cant grab your good towels to wipe off your polish, sealant, glaze and wax.

I am sorry there seems to be an issue with linting.  Please call into customer service to get this fixed.  Had to laugh...."reaching for costco cheapies so I don't have to deal with lint."

Yeah, I guess I set myself up for that one!   But honestly, I had Amercana hazing on the car and I couldnt grab a single soft or double soft that wouldnt lint so I had to finish up with what I had that worked. Not ideal by any means. I actually ordered some Revitalizer which was shipped today with the hopes that it might fix the problem. Currently I wash with  Ecos Free and Clear laundry detergent which does not contain any fabric softeners and cellulose optical brighteners, which protects the texture of the fabric. It is unscented as well. So I dont think it's anything the wash machine is doing to cause this.

I too am having the same issue and it has been quite frustrating. I have all this money tied up in these awesome towels and I have found myself reaching for the el-cheapo micro fibers bought from the local wholesale club because I dont feel like dealing with the lint. Hopefully the Adam's crew can weigh in on this.
