  1. A more impressive test would have been to use DWC POST CLAY instead of POST WASH.
  2. I am working on an Americana review right now as well I will make a point to try it without the glaze on part of the car and with the glaze on the other part... and report my results. Thanks for the info! Did you ever get a chance to do this? I've always wondered about the unique qualities of BG. I've tried doing a panel with glaze vs. glaze + wax and its hard to tell the difference to me. Maybe because I have a silver car. The problem is also compounded because I use Adam's exclusively and after using just the shampoo and detail spray the car is already shiny.
  3. What does adding Waterless Wash to the foam canon mixture do?
  4. Carl, can you explain this a little more? I'm always trying to improve my wash set up (I currently use MTM foam canon with an electric PW with QD's) and I'm curious about this 3 way valve business. Where is this attached? The small issue I have now is after foaming/dwell time when it comes time to rinse I QD the hose from PW and attach Ultimate Fire Hose nozzle to rinse bc rinsing with the PW wand kinda takes long. Then I take off the Fire Hose nozzle and reattach hose to PW. Would the 3 way valve solve this?
  5. Once you do your test section and are ready to polish the entire car do you go through all the steps each time you start a new section? Or do you do the entire car with one polish then do the entire again with the next polish and so on?
  6. Wow, 3 caddies. Nice. I guess the added advantage with the caddy is that if you have the different size buckets you can vary your height whereas with the Rolling Detail Seat its just a fixed height, unless it can be adjusted for height. Does anyone know?
  7. Anybody out there that also has both like Scott and actually likes the Rolling Detail Cart better than the Bucket Caddy?
  8. Thanks to all for the replies. So if you go for the caddy, does it make sense to get just one caddy or do you necessarily have to get the double caddy system?
  9. I'm trying to decide between the two. The Rolling Detail Cart is on sale, but it seems the Car Wash Bucket Caddy used as a creeper (sitting on bucket with lid on, inserted into the caddy) is an even cheaper alternative. Anyone have an opinion? The bucket caddy would let you zip around the car, takes up less space in the garage (I've already Ordered the Pro Detailers Cart), and can also be used during the 2 bucket wash process as well as after for claying or polishing. The Rolling Detail Cart seems more comfortable, has storage on the bottom, and has a removable pad for when you needed to go to the ground. What would you get? Thanks.
  10. Chase, just wondering why you chose the turbo stick over the wheel woolies. I own the Wheel Woolies and they work great, but am I missing something by not having the turbo stick? or does it really not matter because both do the same thing.
  11. For loose stuff, lug nut brush or vac with bristle/brush attachment. For gunk that's really in there, well, on my older car actually started checking where the screws were and started taking the center console apart. That seemed like the only way to clean it really well. Otherwise like you said you just start pushing the gunk around. If its a newer car or to complicated you'll have to work around it.
  12. Can you polish while on the tailbone, like when you are doing the lower portion of your car and you would normally be on your knees? or would it move around on you, push away, as you put pressure on the PC/Flex?
  13. Do you think the Green Wheel Cleaner would have been able to clean this, just with more work? or not really?
  14. I missed this piece of advice on the GWC. Thanks, I'll keep it in mind. When I'm diluting and just eyeballing the amounts I try to err on the side of making the product more concentrated rather than more diluted anyway. (Sorry, I don't post a whole lot and don't know why some things are highlighted yellow and others are not)
  15. There are things that Adam does not mention in the videos that you guys frequently discuss here that are useful, such as strip washing and IPA wipe downs.
  16. One bit of advice that was left out is that you can dilute some of the products, but not all. Somethings I dilute are: APC (50%) GWC (50%) Microfiber Revitalizer (50%) when spraying from a bottle to wash a towel by hand. Still suds & lathers like crazy. Awesome and effective product. Unfortunately, I still have to rinse a million times to get all the soap out because it's so good. VRT (80% vrt to 20% water) to make VRT milk only LIC (50%) almost a must because it can take color off leather or bleach vinyl if not careful. Still good stuff since you can get by with a few pumps on damp towel and wipe away. This really makes it go a long way. Of course you go full strength whenever you need to. I was the same way in the beginning. I quickly jumped to gallons, but even then I realized that there had to be a smarter way to use product thanks to people here and sometimes just common sense. The above is actually all I dilute, I don't know about others. I guess you can dilute DS for claying or substitute soapy water, things like that, but those are things that I simply won't do out of personal preference. On the other hand in fact, I'm almost wasteful with DS and the Car Wash Shampoo. With these I figure I buy the stuff by the gallon and if it makes me enjoy the process, who cares? I just have at it. I use a foam cannon in my wash routine. When I start the 2 bucket wash I usually at some point dump the one with soap and make a new one. I give it a good squirt too, not a cap full like some car shampoos say to use. More lubrication, plus Adam's doesn't strip what ever protective coating you have so all is good.
  17. Thanks to all for the suggestions. Sounds crazy but I wouldn't mind having one of those rollers you feed towels through and crank to squeeze the water out of the towels. Like the kind you see at some coin car washes. Anybody have one of those?
  18. How many towels does it take to justify a load? What if you did a maintenance wash and all you dirtied is one GW, one Waterless, and one SS? Seems like too few towels to do a load. If you wait to accumulate more towels, the dirt and stains set in. Until now I've been washing by hand with the Microfiber Revitalizer & Brightner, but its a pain, especially the GW because its so big. I rinse & wring the towels with clean water in a bucket several times and I keep getting suds because the MR&B is so concentrated. Whats a good solution?
  19. "The mixture of the Car Shampoo and Waterless Car Wash inside the Foam canister really helped the Shampoo stick to the surface to allow a nice layer of lubrication to the paint before I went ahead and removed the dirt with the wash pads." Mook, can you tell me what ratio of Car Shampoo to WCW for the foam cannon? Also, you are saying the WCW helps the shampoo stick? I thought the lubricity of the WCW would do the opposite, that is, help the soap and dirt slide off. I assume you rinsed the foam off before the two bucket right? Thanks.
  20. Thanks for the quick reply, especially at this hour of the morn.
  21. In anticipation of my first correction, is it necessary to do a strip wash if I haven't waxed my car in about a year (I last used buttery). I've done maintenance washes about every 2 weeks with DS as a drying agent. Does DS need to be stripped or does it simply wash off the next time you wash your car? Thanks.
  22. Looks nice. By the way, how many hours did it take you?
