  1. i really want to see an LSP stripping agent for say a primer for coatings/sealants. Similar to Eraser. You know what im talking about.
  2. ive had to rush some pads a few times. i absolutely hate it, it makes the product work differently and gums up i've found. Obviously it differs from product to product and how damp the actual pads really are. When cleaning pads i fill my bucket just barely above the grit guard and mix some APC/Shampoo in the water and shake the bucket a bit. I like the take the pads and let them soak about an hour (also depends how bad they are). Then i get back in there and really agitate them across the grit guard. In all sorts of patterns and it really seems to clean them nicely. Then i drain and pull the grit guard and throw the pads on them after i wring them out and place in the sun to dry. Heres the outcome of this cleaning on a single pad i used on a single stage paint not too long ago. Nasty eh? Moral of story, keep your pads clean and dry.
  3. I find his beard warming and welcoming. Happy for you bud. People are wrong, you can go home again.
  4. hes no longer with SCG. can confirm that one. its been a month or so. Did jest at Adam on his bike.
  5. I still use 5.5" Hex foam pads just fine on my Flex. Youll be fine to use them. I have and use an abundance of them with my flex without issue. Also apply my LSP with them, dont believe everything you read The wavy pads are just as good, i do notice they dust a bit less. My guess is less residual to dry up and fling because the hex has lines. I personally dont like MF pads so i wont express my opinion on those.
  6. why would you reformulate PCP while still selling it and not tell your customers? Didnt want it to hurt the sale figures while you fixed it? I liked PCP, it was very dusty though. The cut was decent, nothing major and i used it as a one step. I bought Finishing polish thinking it would actually do something. I was very disappointed. I've used PCP on a medium cut pad and a finishing pad. Both work great depending on situation. I have since used all my PCP and will not be purchasing anymore. You really need to lose the cyclo, its what is slowing you down. Im not going over a panel 5-6 times with an inept machine when i can take one-two passes with a better machine you used to believe in until the profits ran thin.
  7. Total start to finish was around 7 hours. Tis me sir! Its from my foam cannon. No way the foam gun could provide that amount. It showed up pretty good on white. BTW he LOVED it, he couldnt stop smiling. He asked if it runs better because it looks brand new.
  8. I got to wait until tomorrow, he flys back in the morning. Ill be staring at my phone waiting for it to go off around the time i know he will be home. I hope he loves the outcome as much as i did.
  9. Customer actually found me through family and he just moved up to where i live. He maintains it fairly well but needed a polish and he gave me the go ahead on doing everything so i started early. On to the pics, which are in order 50/50
  10. Strip wash, clay, SHR/FMP Yessir, these have been on there for awhile now just finally got fed up with them. I still need these, maybe next order. Not the original owner, i am the second owner and apparently the original one lived on the surface of the sun by looking at other plastics and how they're faded. definitely can feel them, its a rough feel and even the smooth spots are somewhat textured. Not repainted as far as i know, I know the roof has been but not the hood. Heres my process and outcome from today. you can see the difference here, bottom to top. Left is polished right is not After 3 passes of SHR/ 1 pass with FMP Not perfect but its my daily and sadly, sits outside. Finished it off with an alcohol wipe, Quick Sealant, Glaze, Americana to match the rest of the vehicle. The whole vehicle.
  11. I've used SHR/FMP along with claying and cannot get rid of this spotting/hazing. Its ten year old Toyota paint and the rest of my paint looks great except the hood. It really bothers me Any help? I have a PC for the record.
  12. great job! I've been waiting for these reviews to come out.
  13. Wow. Never thought silver would be as reflective and deep looking. Nice work as always.
  14. depending how bad the car is and who it is (relative, friend) im around $150-200 for cars, unless its black. $300 for trucks. They're usually dirtier inside and out.
  15. this is always a good idea. I have the customer drop their car off at my place, it gets washed then i drive it into the garage where it stays until delivery. I dont ever drive it and never leave until delivery. Stuff can always happen regardless however.
  16. I do it on the side. Im not trying to get rich off of it however. Mostly friends and family and friends of family that see what i can do and want theirs. I have this month booked out and some of April for Saturdays. It works out good, it pays for my product and gives me something to do while my girlfriend works during Saturdays. I like it a lot and its always great to see their faces when they see it once its done.
  17. thanks all, i appreciate the kind words. Especially from all of you here. Im nothing great by any means. What you guys can do is truly an art.
  18. I really like them too. This car impressed me. They also were easy to clean.
  19. My friend got a new GTI and wanted me to detail it. Of course he didn't stop them from doing the "complimentary wash" before delivery. So i had a good bit to fix, not terrible. Here's a series of pics of the process. My collection (still need a lot more) Its been raining lately so there was a nice layer of dirt. Started with a nice foam with a hint of APC Right after the wash, i clay'd it real quick. No pics of the clay as it really wasnt that bad. So i got right into the polishing. It only needed a pass with Fine Machine Polish so i was excited, this could go smoothly. Once i completely get the car polished i throw on some Quick Sealant. Once i did that i wanted to finally use my Brilliant Glaze. After this i used Buttery Wax to top it all off. Backed it out of the garage and put SVRT on the tires, undercarriage spray in the fenders and the owner was impressed. I thought it turned out great. I loved this color, the interior was 100% factory and brand new, quick wipe down and vacuum and it was good to go.
