  1. Master Blaster Vacuum, and save the rest until I can after a rupes polisher.
  2. I'll need to order a few new pads as well as a new wedge. The wedge got caught on an edge and tore in a few spots. I love the wedge though.
  3. OK. Sooo, I'm an idiot! I completely forgot that the old pad's were 11 and 9 and that the new ones were actually 10! I Love the 10's and I was completely wrong in my first comment. I realize now that the pads I just tossed were actually 10's. My apologies everyone.
  4. Dang, I just tossed my 9" pads and was going to purchase 2 or 3 more, but I see the 10's are in stock and 9's are nowhere to be found? Are the 10's coming back for good and 9's gone forever? I'll use either size, but I've come to like the 9" pads better!
  5. Or find a lady (they usually have beautiful hand writing) to write them for you.
  6. Oh well. I learned something new, but after I had already done the work. Today, I did a rinseless wash, clay, IPA wipe down, APC (1:1 diluted) wipe down, 2 step correction, sealant, glaze, and americana wax. I'm no pro, but the vehicle looks phenomenal!!
  7. thanks. just clayed and IPA wipe down. now on to paint correcting.
  8. thanks everyone. I read this too late. Just did a rinseless wash. It's hot as balls outside already. So now I'll spray the vehicle with APC then I'll clay then IPA wipe down.
  9. Hello everyone. So I'm planning to do some paint correction on one of my vehicles and had a few questions. Of course I'll begin with a 2 bucket wash and clay, but then I need help. I've never performed and IPA wipe down and I'm wondering if I need to do one if I'm going to go after the paint with the microfiber cutting pads which I assume would take everything off. Thought? If I do still need to do an IPA wipedown will the alcohol mess up microfiber cloths? As of now my plan is to wash, clay, IPA wipe down, paint correct, IPA wipe down again, paint polish, and seal. Then maybe wax as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  10. I wouldn't say I lose interest as much as I can't always work up the motivation to go out and do it. I'm still trying to figure out a step-by-step process that I like and can remember. What keeps my interest is watching the vehicle go from terribly dirty to jaw dropping shiny. I also occasionally detail cars for others with the agreement that I can take pictures and post them on my detailing facebook page. Its fun to see the comments and be able to go back and look at my work.
  11. I agree. Those look great!
  12. I like the idea of a good wrap that will lesson the stigma of a Hearse.
  13. I had my debit card number stolen somehow and the turd that did it purchased a PS3 bundle, and ps3 game, and an LED HDTV. It drained my account and nearly made me bounce a check and miss some payments. Lucky I got paid the next morning and I have emergency funds. The a-hole shopped Kohls online and I was able to get the city and state that he ordered it to as well as the order number. Using some investigative skills, I found the address, UPS tracking number, and name of the idiot. I live in NM, so there is no handling this myself, so NYPD has been notified. I suspect they're very busy, so I hope they'll have a chance to pop this moron! My bank will be helping me get my money back, but in the mean time they cancelled my debit card and it will take 7-10 days for my new one. I basically have no means of getting money for myself. I either use a credit card (I'd rather not) or I have my wife go get what I need or get cash for me. I HATE THIEVES!!
  14. Thanks TheWolf. That covers my question pretty well. Still interested in other techniques people might have. I need to organize my method of washing, drying, claying, etc.
  15. In terms of detailing, but I don't think I was specific enough. If we start with say....claying. Do you guys start on the hood first? Then do you go to the grill, a pillar, windshield, fenders, etc? Do work the roof 1st? Where do you go from there? How you make sure you get everything? I find myself getting a slight case of A.D.D and I may start a the hood, then work the left front fender, then to the roof. Then I might go to the doors, or maybe I'll go to the other fender. Just wondering if anyone has a routine to stay consistent. Also as far as dressing and such. Do you dress trim prior to cleaning the glass? Use in/out spray before a detail spray wipe down? I know these are broad questions, but I'd like to get people's perspectives and tips. Is wax the absolute last step after dressing? Do you follow a wax with detail spray?
  16. Just curious what order everyone follows when detailing beyond a wash. Where do you start first? What follows? How do you make sure you get everything?
  17. LFairbanks, I don't think the new one is a "sprayer". I think its just a pump style like on a lotion bottle. I don't care either way, It was really just a question. If they need to get rid of those top, before sending the new red pump heads, I'm okay with that. I was just curious. I don't think it's necessary to have them send me one. I would've never known the difference had I not noticed the picture on Adams page that showed the new red pump.
  18. Just received my package of the new HGG, car wash wedge, a gallon on Detail Spray, Glass Sealant, and a bottle of Brilliant Glaze. I can't wait to try the HGG and CWW. I planned on putting some glaze and wax over it. While unpackaging I noticed the brilliant glaze bottle still has the old self cleaning pop up lid. Is it supposed to come with the new red pump top?? Or is that a purchase of it own?
  19. This and the ease of application really doesn't require a machine. There is (to me at least) a certain satisfaction to applying a premium wax by hand. The smell, the application, the haze, the removal and the ever so slight running of a finger over a slick and smooth surface is way better than a machine job!!!
