  1. Mind if I ask what the pay rate is. I understand it might be different here, but just curious.
  2. I may check it out then. I was just looking to get some minor details so that I don't waste my time going there. Seems interesting still. I can live with less involved detailing work since my priority would be the second paycheck. I don't have a customer based to which I can make my own money detailing so this might be a viable option. Thanks for the input guys!
  3. Hello everyone! I'm currently seeking a second part-time job. Due to an ACL reconstruction surgery. I'm on "light duty" and cannot perform my job as a law enforcement officer and thus have taken a bit of a paycut and I have taken on new bills. To add to the bad luck, my dog tore his acl 2 weeks ago and the surgery is $3000. I broke a molar and will have to pay $750 after insurance. To top it off, the rock fell out of my wife's wedding ring ($$$$). Need less to say my plan to pay of debts has been postponed and I'm on a tight budget. I read the local CarMax is looking for full time/part time detailers. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will they require me to provide the cleaning products and equipment? What is a fair expected wage for that type of work with a dealership?
  4. I can't remember where I learned this trick but if you have the bristle brush for a polisher, You can hang the mats and run the polisher on them to basically vibrate the sand loose. For installed upholstry, I would try using a shop vac while using the polisher w/bristle brush. You'll notice the dirt and sand tends to "jump" around. The shop vac should take it right out of the air and the rest will be on top of the carpet.
  5. Maybe, call them directly. If you're lucky they will have some in stock or be able to refer you to a dealer who might.
  6. Rubber bristled brushes, latex/nitrile gloves, and a vacuum.
  7. Welcome Tyler. We look forward to your contributions and help! 100% Adams Polishes products. I'm just a weekend warrior detailer, but it is because of Adam's products that I have found a passion for detailing.
  8. I've only used the visco a couple times. I usually have to use new products several times before I either use them right or see any major changed from the previous similar products.
  9. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at remembering to take photos and this was an after thought about a week later. I stopped short of wet sanding for lack of experience doing it. Thank you for your input.
  10. I recall having many issues with the version prior to the blue bar. I actually love the blue bar though it seems pretty tough to mend. I have the visco bar and I've tried it 2 or 3 times. Not a fan. I have plenty of blue bar left. In your case, I'd say it is likely a problem with the bar itself.
  11. Hello everyone. I'm sitting here bored out of my mind and started to remember a black Honda CR-V that I detailed last week. The entire car had water spotting, but he worst areas were the front fenders and the hood. I started off with a 2 bucket was of course and followed it with clay. The water spots barely faded at all. Next I tried the paint correcting foam pad and paint correcting polish on my PC and Cyclo. That helped a little bit, but not much. I increased intensity and used a tougher compound with mf pad. That did a pretty good job, but the water spots were still easily visible. Anyhow, the customer and I agreed not to pursue attempting wet sanding and I wasn't sure if vinegar, alcohol, or dawn would do anything better so I polished it up and sealed the paint after several more compounding passes. I got it looking as best as I could. Sitting here wondering and researching water spot removal and I had a thought. Would Deep Wheel Cleaner possibly work any better that the previously mentioned methods? Any thought?
  12. I have a 2013 Ram Laramie with leather interior. I only use Adam's Leather/Interior Cleaner and Leather conditioner. No problems so far. I love their stuff. Enjoy the truck!!!
  13. Hot summer temps are here. 90+ degrees. Hard to wash in such heat. I'm also recovering from ACL surgery, but lets do this!

    1. Maddie

      Maddie

      Flip flops and poolside beverages!

  14. Drive it there. Hit it w/waterless wash, then glaze. Top it off with a detail spray coat.
  15. Hello everyone. I'm sure many of you have heard of the St. Baldrick's Foundation for childhood cancer research. I'm currently trying to raise funds for my team and I'll be getting my head shaved on March 13 as part of the fun and charity fund raising. I have very few actually steady customers that I detail for, but many many friends are aware of my detailing side jobs. I have a facebook page for it and I have been calling for people to contact me for washes and details. I have stated that prices are whatever they would like to donate and 100% of all money made will be donated. I'm aiming for $500. I have $100 so far. I do this on Friday's and Saturday's on my off time. Any ideas to get more people coming? It's for a good cause!! Thanks for any suggestions and help. BTW, if you'd like to make a donation, follow this link: https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/811028/2016
  16. Yep. I now have to wait until noon to even have bearable temps. Sad part is, I'm in NM. I can't even imagine how it is in NY.

  17. Just saw his post that he left Adams and is now with Rupes as a logistics and marketing manager! Congratulations to him, but if this is really true, this really sucks!!
  18. Thank you Adam for getting involved. It's refreshing to see an owner being involved in discussions and continuously seeking advise, criticism, comments, and feedback.
