Leather Conditioner as a cleaner.

DCRANER

Question

LC as a cleaner? Well sort of, here's my story.

Just got a used 08 Cadillac Escalade ESV with the Cashmere interior, meaning a very light tan leather interior. Perforated leather on the seats.

Very clean but had a small dark stain / spot on the pass. seat, almost looked like a very thin blotch of chewing gum. Dealer offered to have one of his guys try getting it off. Whoa, I just pictured a guy with a can of WD-40 and a screw driver. Hang on! I'll try it myself.

So, went home and tried the interior cleaner, even scrubbed with a soft tooth brush. It lightened it a little but was not going to work. I figured too many times and even the IC might dull the leather.

I then put a dab of the LC on the spot, let it soak for about 15 minutes. Then took my finger nail and picked lightly..........whalaaa! The spot lifted off, a paper thin piece of gook / gum, whatever.

My thought was the LC could stand on the leather for any amount of time with no damage and may eventually soften the dried on gook.
