pc polishing and pinstripes

If I can ever find a body shop that can throw down the hand painted stripes I'm after do I need to worry about them when polishing with the pc? Since there is no clear over them do I run the risk of messing them up or wearing through them? Do I just tape over them best I can? Thanks in advance for any advice, you guys have been a wealth of knowledge already!

Definitely avoid them if there won't be any clear laid down... a few passes with a pad/pc and you could easily remove a section of pin striping.

Thin green masking tape can be used to cover over them. When you remove it, pull it off in line with the car. DO NOT pull up and off.

Is there a good way to avoid the tape leaving a fine line on either side after you pull it off?

 

And yes, I'd go buy the green 3M automotive tape that's nice and thin to minimize how much of the paint you have to cover. I bought all 3 widths when I purchased mine so I'd have the right width for any situation.
