suke
Ok soooo the Passat ones should be fixed. Let me know if they aren't before I go and try and fix the massive amounts of Lexus ones. lol EDIT: they should all be fixed now. I had to add the album name to the IMG path. Hopefully that works so I don't have to go copy and past all new links. Edited March 26, 2013 by suke
suke
Finally getting a chance to work on my own cars. This thing was disgusting. Sadly I don't think I've even had a chance to wash the poor thing in a few months. Been so busy working on other peoples stuff to do my own. Before Wetsanding my headlights After White doesn't show nearly a dramatic difference, also doesn't shine like other colors. In the sun the white pearl looks awesome though. Forgot the back half of this car has been painted when some moron rear ended this car when it was new. The clear coat on the rear is hard as mess. Also noticed rotary pigtails all over the place back there. Not sure why I haven't noticed them before when buffing this car. Guess I saw it in just the right light. Thought the trunk lid and rear quarter panel were all swirled up, but ends up just being tons of rotary artifacts. Grrr! Why can't body shops hire people that aren't hacks with rotary buffers? suke
Finally pulled it out into the sun, and now it's supposed to rain. Go figure. This is where pearl really stands out.
Ralfy
Sweet!! Needs tint haha what was the process with the headlights?
suke
Sweet!! Needs tint haha what was the process with the headlights? Wetsanded with 1500 grit then buffed them out. That's just faster than going the multiple passes of compound. Took me all of 5 mins for both lights. I thought about tint, but it's an 8 year old car with 186k. I'm not going to do anything appearance wise to it. Keep it looking and running good until I can eventually sell it.
suke
Finally getting around to detailing this. Needed to finish wetsanding the front end from where it had been painted. Bumper got messed up AGAIN and had to be repainted for like the third time. So it is now ready to be wetsanded and buffed. The hood could use another round of knocking down the orange peel. Unfortunately I knocked it down so much, and the pearl isn't as pronounced as the TSX, I now have to go back over it with the red pad and FMP for the final step. For this I used some extra heavy cut non-adams, then another heavier cut non-adams, then SHR, FMP, and FMP with red pad for the final. Took about 8 hours today just to do the front. Need to now polish the rest of the car. Here's after wetsand and heavy cut. After the next round of lower cut After all the steps
suke
What I'm working on now. Seadoo RXT-X Before They wanted the numbers ripped off since they are getting new ones. So off they went. Not exactly sure what happened here. Buffed out quite easily.

suke
Numbers buffed out on this side. All cleaned up and ready to be buffed. This was actually worse than the RXT and was a PITA. Especially this side. Apparently this is Seadoo quality gelcoat. You can see a wave in the gel. I thought maybe it had been painted. You can see some gel coat defects in the peak of the nose indention here. I'll get back working on it tomorrow. Didn't get much done tonight, but the numbers really would not buff out. suke
Welp I know I've been MIA lately, but just got off the phone with a gentleman that has a collection he wants me to do. One of the cars is an older Porsche 911 and a Stingray boat. I'm be heading out to his place to take a look at what he's got and give him a bulk quote on Thursday. suke
Finally got my S back from the body shop having a panel blended that wasn't quite done right the first time. After a month in the shop I finally got her back. Only to get her back and the top not work and passenger window won't go down. WTF mate? So took it back and they sent it to the Honda dealer to have it fixed. Hopefully it won't be another month until I see it. Anywho decided to polish her out since I put her up for sale. Sure will miss this shine.
suke
Here we go!! Also dropped off was the truck that's towing it. That's next after this. Both are getting inside and out details. Have about 60 hours worth of work ahead of me. Up next! Some oxidation and fading of the gelcoat. Should buff out well. Little scuff Better view of what I'm facing. Little nicks here or there. Some should buff out. Waterline marks After heavy cut compound. Done half this side. Packed garage. It's staying inside due to the rain. Here's a blurry pic of the faded graphic. before No more fade. After Scrubbed the hell out of the vinyl. Man I'm beat. Done and conditioned. During pic of me scrubbing the hell outta the vinyl. I'm exhausted. Still have to vacuum and shampoo the carpet, put the sealant on the gelcoat, and treat the plastic. Oh and clean the windows. JBlack151
Great work on the boat. I dread cleaning up boats for some reason. Maybe because I'm used to enjoying them instead of cleaning them. Have fun with the Ford!
