'99 Accord...Hammered to Holy Moly!

This is my neighbor's car. I took a good look at it the other day and wondered if I could bring the paint back from the depths it had descended to. Swirls don't describe it, but rather full on foggy hazy swirl soup. No baggie test needed, it was obvious with the bare hand. Plus, I wanted to play some more with the new Gen4 pads and this was a great excuse. Special thanks to DaytonaJae and Mc2hill for lending a helping hand. The owner was super happy when it was returned in such fantastic shape. Process was the whole enchilada, including a new process I needed to create in order to remove polish from "crows feet." An indepth discussion on THAT can be found here:

But on to the photos:

Big change Mike & Jae!

Thanks for the shout-out, but all I did was SVRT the tires and clean the sunroof before you rolled it out for the After pics.

Well, we needed the tall guy to reach the center of the roof without a step stool. :lolsmack:

Honda guys, be doubly sure to check my post about micro-cracking (crows feet), linked about. You may encounter the same issue, as Honda seems to be somewhat notorious for it (at least according to my online searches).

Nice save on the accord. Those cars seem to take a beating and get neglected. Plus with Hondas the power trains generally outlast the body, so there are a lot of "walking dead" Hondas out there on the road.

My wife's old civic had that crows feet issue, too. I didn't realize it was such a widespread issue -- I thought I'd done the damage with the PC and just chalked it up to the cars very thin metal (it was like tin and flexed anytime you put PC pressure on it) and generally crappy paint.
