MiloX Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 What kind of results should I expect? Interested in brightening up my factory exhaust tips a bit.
InDepthAutoDetailing Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 It just hit me. In all your other post you trying to eliminate all the chrome on the beast and in this one your trying to brighten up the exhaust tip.:willy:
Superdutytd Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Thanks for the welcome back! Life has been getting in the way of free time lately.
Superdutytd Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I once sanded my raw diesel exhaust tips (they are a twin style similar to yours) and after starting at 1500 grit then moving to 2,000 and finally onto polish they looks very bright but definitely didn't have a mirror finish. Then the diesel heat and rain discolored them after about a 1000 miles Of course I didn't spend a ton of time on them but hopefully your results turn out better than mine.
txredgt Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 No problem but txredgt gets all the credit. He posted it a while back. I just looked it up again. I saw that thread before I was an adamite and needless to say I was shocked by the turnaround and had to post it on here. Makes me want one just so I can do that to it!

THE Mook Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I really like to use the Blue Hex Grips for polishing metal. They save my hands the pain of being an old man. Mook

MiloX Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 I was wondering who was going to point that out. Lol. I know. I'm crazy. I just don't like it. The raw steel just looks unfinished. I'm not going for chrome here. Looking for something that more closely matches the aluminum on the wheels in brightness.
Chris@Adams Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Brian, Be prepared to get blown awaye! Be sure to post up some pics!
txredgt Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Took me a minute to find it but check this out. How to: Polish Exhaust | Mustang Forums at StangNet Hey did you steal this from 1 of my posts? lol The IRS in the 03-04 Cobras is pure awesomeness when its polished like that one.

MiloX Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Yes.. I have watched them. But iirc his wheels were already polished, right? These tips are raw. I'm not looking for a mirror like finish or anything. I should just bite the bullet with the daily special, huh? Maybe a little before and after pics.
Team Adam's Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 have you watched the mp 1 & 2 video... the turn around on Adam's bronco wheels is a nice indicator.
