Detailing '04 Yellowjacket GTO

It's taken me a while to post this, but my friend Chris (admin on ls1gto.com) brought his GTO over to my house a few weeks ago for a full detailing, to get his car ready for the All GM Nationals at Carlisle, PA.

I used all Adam's Polishes products exclusively. This will sort of be a picture log of the entire process. This car has nearly 70k miles and is driven in all weather conditions - rain, snow, etc. It honestly wasn't in that bad of shape for me to start with. I estimate that I had 15-18 hours into it from start to finish, over the course of a few days. I am happy to say that it placed 3rd for 2004 GTO Stock class. It's a great feeling to see another owner so happy with the results.

Over 2,000hp at the DT household...too bad it's not all mine:

I discovered it's difficult to photograh swirls on a yellow car.

Cowl plastic was starting to fade

Washer nozzles were fairly faded

As was the lower grille black plastic

Then I moved onto the Fine Machine Polish

Polish worked into the clearcoat

Next up was the Quick Spray Sealant, love this stuff!

Once the sealant was cured and wiped off, I put on a coat of Brilliant Glaze

IMG_4290.jpg

And then topped it off with Americana paste wax. This is the same combo of steps I use on my vehicles :)

IMG_4291.jpg

Americana goes on very thin, can barely see it.

IMG_4292.jpg

Then I moved onto all of the other body panels over the next few days

Swirls all gone

Dirty windows (on the inside)

Then I polished the exhaust tips with Metal Polish #1 followed by Metal Polish #2

Interior was next. Adam's Leather & Interior Conditioner used on nearly everything.

I made sure to clean the door jambs and lower inside portion of the doors but didn't get any pictures.

A quote from the owner:

"I cannot begin to describe how much of a believer I now am in Adam's products and people that know what they are doing with them.

Thanks again Dan, I really appreciate the level of work you did on my car."
