1956 Chevy Detail

This past weekend continued with working on some American steel again. Up on the block first was a 56 Chevy. The white paint has a nice pearl. She was pretty dirty since my client had left her outside in some rain storms that came thru for a couple days during the week and he drives this one a lot all over the place almost like an everyday cruiser.

I started off working on the wheels and tires along with some of the undercarriage areas. Then I gave her two good washes to make sure I got rid of all the dirt and grime that was built up. After drying the car off I did a once over on the paint to see what imperfections I could find. Surprisingly I couldn’t find too much, however I wasn’t going to play it safe since I had a feeling the white was hiding some swirls that I couldn’t see in the light I was working with. So I clayed the entire car and pulled off lots of goodies built up all over. I found lots of polish/wax residue in the edges of all the chrome trim and emblems. Some Waterless Wash and a Lugnut brush took care of that.

On the interior I did a good wipe down of everything with Leather & Interior Cleaner. It did wonders for the seats and headliners. Also hit the carpets up with some Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner and a Carpet Brush. Topped off the seats and door panels with some Leather Conditioner and we were good to go.

I brought out the Flex and got to work with 2 passes of SHR and 1 pass of FMP. After a good wipe down I used Revive all over this car. On the paint, trim, bumpers, dashboard, door panels, wheels. You name it, and I probably used some Revive on it. After the Revive was completed I followed up pretty much everything again with Brilliant Glaze. I can’t say enough about how these two products worked wonders brining everything back to life on this beauty. Last but not least was some APW to top it off.

For this detail I have to give the award to the Revive and Brilliant Glaze combo. It was just awesome watching everything transform back to a great shine and deep finish.
